Persona 4 Dancing All Night |OT| Aha! Is This Our Dance?

Did they ever patched coreography mode to include a stop and rewind option ? Honestly, some of those steps are damn cool and I would like to learn.

Huh

I'm not sure if i just keep messing up on my timing but the game seems to randomly drop my inputs. Like inputs I was just getting a second ago now feel incredibly sluggish. I'm using a PS TV, could it make that huge of a difference?

EDIT: Yup, sometimes it completely doesn't read my input.

Your tv either has too much latency, or you need to turn off postprocessing like fastmotion.

Playing with L/R is much better than analog sticks. Didn't miss a note in my favorite songs.

And I my the only one liking these songs:

Maze of Life
Time to make history (both remix and original)
Dance!
Best Friends (both versions)
Backside of the TV

Backside and Maze are two favorites of mine and I haven't seen a single comment about them D=
I love every Kanji song, Maze of Life, and Dance! a lot. The fast paced songs always end up being some of my favorites.
Hello friends, it's great to finally be reunited now...

I really should of bought that Vita. My 1000's audio jack is giving out in the left channel somehow, so I really should upgrade to a 2000. The color scheme and exclusive theme are too good.

I was a little worried that it would be too much like Project Diva in terms of how the notes move, but I was pretty pleased to see nothing with the touchscreen, and not having things just happening wherever on the screen.

i definitely need to see if something is up with my TV. Only reason I think it may not be is that it's fine most of the time, just all of the sudden I'll miss notes I swear I was hitting before. Kind of annoying.

First impressions are that this game is pretty awesome. It took me a while to get used to it (the screen is so wide that I kept getting confused), but I went from dying immediately in hard mode to being able to do pretty well on a song so I'm definitely learning. Music is great too, as expected.

Played a little free mode and this is a lot of fun. I also love the voices, especially when you mess up and they comment on it. Also is it just me or is the opening sequence out of sync? I've watched the opening on youtube many times, and it definitely doesn't sync up properly in the game.

This may seem like a dumb question, and totally unrelated, but should I get around to playing the story for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax before I play this?

I played the first Arena when it came out, and really enjoyed the story in that, but just for some reason never got around to Ultimax. I doubt they're that closely related, but considering it probably takes place before this game, (or does it?) just wondering if I should?
At one point the team is talking about Shadows being outside the TV world and Yosuke says "well I know it happened that one time..." I took this as a reference to the Arena games (since they took place within a day of each other, right?)

Speaking of which, I wonder if they're ever going to do something with ol Cross-Face or whatever his name is?

Just played some of the Story Mode. Yep, this is Persona through and through. The dialog goes on and on and on. I kept expecting a chapter break but it ended up being over an hour and half before there was one!

God this game is addicting! I played a bit of story mode but free dance is where the game truly shines. I'm pleasantly surprised at how challenging the game is too! I can't clear Best Friends on Hard for the life of me but I still keep going back to give it another shot.

The game is so fun and it honestly makes me hope that they eventually make P3 Dancing All Night. I would buy the Disco Fever edition of that in a heartbeat.

After playing for four and a half hours and loving nearly everything I hear, I am SO glad I got the Disco Fever edition. Will be putting the CD's on all my electronics tomorrow!

I've unlocked everything I can in free mode so I've started up story and I I think Ashly Burch Rise is fine.

I really hope not I feel like I got closure with the P3 cast in Ultimax I don't want anymore of them or the P4 cast after this.

My Amazon order of the disco fever edition (that I forgot to cancel and order at Best Buy with GCU) showed up today in a smushed box with the packaging of course messed up. I ordered it on Best Buy today, with GCU and some certs, it came to 53$ shipped. I'm gonna wait for that to arrive and then return whichever one is in worse shape to Amazon for a full refund. Thing that sucks is I gotta wait to crack it open!

Why is Rise not featured in any free play mode songs? Am I missing something?

Is anyone else having trouble accessing DLC? When I try to get to the store, both from the in-game title menu and from the Vita home menu, it just says "There are no content items."

Yeah, you have to either use the PSN app or do it on your PC. Sony or Atlus goofed or something.

Holy shit is this game fun. Seriously the remix versions are amazing. I love Heaven and Snowflakes, I had to take a break after a couple of hours because my eyes were thirsty as hell. Damn you Persona and your amazing music, why are you so great?

Just beat the story mode. This definitely felt like a P4 game, dancing aside. Was very, very well done, considering most rhythm games have no plot at all. Now on to Free Dance goodness.

She should be available for at least 2 (non DLC) songs.

Did you download and install the latest patch? I also could find the items when I directly searched for them in the store via the search function.

Love seeing so many people having fun with the game.

And to the people complaining about the difficulty or positions of the markers (after less than a day):

git gud
no seriously, some games take some time to learn, just because it's different doesn't mean it's bad. you'll get used to it

I was very bad at easy when i started earlier today. Now im pretty good at Normal Level songs, so yea it does just take some getting used to.

I just finished chapter 1. Are there more than 2 female voice actresses in this game? And, why couldn't they get the real voice actors in this game?

For the record, I went on pure-spoiler mode with this, so I guess I just assume negotiations/timing didn't work out. Nevertheless, the voice acting is jarringly worse than P4/P4G/P4:A

And, I had this complain with Persona 4 Ultima, but the interior dialogue is really long-winded and redundant.

But the music is great, so.. I dunno. I was giddy when opening this game, putting it into the Vita, and now I'm just going "ok, it's more Persona 4, but the characters feel like importers due to the voice acting". Better than nothing, I guess.

Yeah and isn't noticing your improvement kind of the best part? It's for me at least. Once you start hitting those notes that seemed impossible before, it's just the best :)

It does have a bit of a learning curve but fuck it it's Persona it is worth it. After a while you get use to all the quirks.

Despite having the Japanese version, for some odd reason, I was able to score 3 King Crazys in Free Dance in the English version versus the 1 in the Japanese one.

Granted, I'm actually rusty from not having played the Japanese version for a few weeks but I strangely seem better playing the English version lol.

Maybe now I'll actually try playing with L/R as my buttons for scratch notes, but I'm really used to the thumb sticks.

Played a bit at work and remembered how much i suck at rhythm games. Not so much suck but just not great. Updating my Vita now for the patch and then gonna update my PSTV next. I really am enjoying this game, might have something to do with the music.

First time hearing new Naoto and Rise (kinda, just playing free play) and, like Chie is gonna take some getting used to. New Naoto kinda just sounds like an older Naoto. Rise is.....I dunno, missing something that made Rise Rise. Although I liked Chie better in Arena, sounded less like Quark from VLR. That's all I hear when I hear Chie.

About how long is story mode?

Also, how come it says the latest patch is needed for DLC but I was able to use them fine without, or at least the costumes?

Wait, is the patch save to the system or the memory card?

It makes me sad that everyone is switching to L/R instead of trying to learn to use the thumbsticks. It's honestly one of my favourite parts about the game.

God I hate this thread title so much
because I love it
.

Looks like Heartbeat, Heartbreak makes at least one appearance so buying now. The kicks in that song better kick tho.

THIS.

Was sucking at the start, am now pretty good at it. I'm not getting King Crazy on everything yet, but I'll get there soon!

Burch is a phenomenal VA, but she just... isn't Rise. It's so jarring to hear her and she just doesn't sound... right.

Agreed. Great voice, great acting, but she's definitely not Rise. Ah well.

This Heaven is a toughie! Took me two shots to clear on Hard after choking the first run. Wondering how much they're going to pull in All Night. o.o

I'm actually just trying to see if I can do it this time around but, to be honest, I really prefer using the sticks for scratch notes.

It's much more satisfying using the sticks but I would like to see just how good I am using the alternate scheme.
