Persona 4 Golden- Easy or normal mode difficulty?

Guys i started to this game already 2 times.
Once in Ps2 played till Yukiko and on Vita till Kanji joins to party.
Now due to some circumstances i lost my saves. And i really love the game too much, decided to start again on Vita version (this time i wanna finish it)
But lol for the past 3 days i can't decide about the difficulty. I played in normal difficulty in previous runs but now since this game has a long intro and i am kinda burnt with the battle system (not exciting anymore). Should i go with easy mode? Would it ruin the gameplay too much? Has anyone played it in easy mode and had fun with battles? OR should i just pick very easy mode ? Pls help gaf!

Go easy if you want to focus on story or social links, normal isn't that hard but easy lets you breathe.

I beat vanilla on normal and had no problem, but for golden since I just wanted to experience the new story and some different links I played on easy and didn't have a problem.

i played golden on normal and didn't have trouble with it save for a few bosses, and i suck at rpgs. honestly though it's your call, the game is incredible regardless of what difficulty you play it on

edit: forgot to mention this, i played p3p on easy mode before i played p4g and i still really enjoyed the battle system, so i'm sure the p4g battle system will be just as fun on easy

I'm not the greatest at JRPGs, but Golden is a pretty easy game even on the harder difficulties. Play on normal.

Very easy is the right way to play, really cuts down on that dungeon grind

edit: I don't mean grinding in the traditional sense, I mean the grind of just having to go through those boring dungeons at all. Very easy lets you sleepwalk through it until the next story point.

If you just want the story and no real worry about any kind of grind easy is the way to go.
Going through a dungeon once is all you need.

Game is dirt easy, if you play on anything less than Hard you can more or less ignore the game's mechanics/systems.That would make for a very boring JRPG to play, especially one as long as P4G. You can still one-day the dungeons just fine.

Normal in Golden is easier than Normal in PS2 P4. I've actually played on Hard. I think normal would be just fine for you.

The game is pretty easy no matter the difficulty you play on. But if you're only there for the story I guess just shove it on easy and enjoy it that way. You won't lose a thing at all, just battles will be a breeze.

I played on easy as I loathe turn based battle systems and just played for the story and social stuff.

I played normal on PS2 and the combat was nothing more than a boring grind for the most part, I'll be playing easy on Golden and that's what I recommend.

Well, my usual recommendation is 1st play = normal. Then whatever you prefer (very easy if wanna a faster run).

But in your case, it seems youre gonna enjoy it better in easy / very easy mode, since youre not interested in the battles.

I thought normal was already on the easy side of things so I guess easy would be too easy. If you just want to experience the presentation, it doesn't matter though.

I didn't really grind on normal but I did all the sidequests.

I just started playing P4G too. It's my first Persona game and I have the difficulty set to normal. Haven't had much difficulty in the dungeons but if you're more interested in the story, go for a lower difficulty then.

Since you feel burned out by the combat and have already played multiple hours, I suggest you play this game on very easy or easy at most.

Very easy. You'll be able to auto battle everything and turn your brain off during most dungeons (wake up when you hear the reflect sound).

I don't get why the game doesn't let you change the difficulty on the fly until you beat the game. But very easy lets you basically power through all the content if you don't want to figure out the game at all since you can die and instantly revive. The thing is though, I think the game system is fun and worth learning and if you build the right persona (which is super easy in Golden because of the DeSu system) you can make OP builds.

One thing to keep in mind is that you can fast forward through all cutscenes. That doesn't mean skipping all the dialog, that means there is a literal fast forward button than just skips past all the story like you are watching a DVD. So, if nothing else, you can skip through the introduction (although Marie is introduced there).

Normal is really easy. I don't think you should play on Easy unless you want gameplay to be an absolute brain-dead non-issue.

Just play easy and blow through the dungeons as fast as you possible can. The social links are the best part of the game without a doubt.

Might as well tell him to look up the S-links on Youtube. OP, if you like actually playing video games and not watching them you should never play on easy.

Worth noting that the difficulty is already much lower in each setting than in the original P4. Going for Easy or Very Easy isn't going to make the combat suddenly more exciting or the game any shorter, it'll just mean you can be completely braindead in fights and not get punished for it, as well as cut out basically any need to fuse good personas, collect skill cards, level up or even really bother with S.Links.

Normal is already too easy for anyone with experience of P4, so Easy and Very Easy is not recommended unless you are desperate not to engage with the combat system in any way.

Normal wasn't crazy hard or anything, but I did have to grind a few times. Honestly if I went back I would've played it on easy. It's all about the story anyway.

I will play Persona 5 on easy.

If you want to just play through the story go on very easy. Personally I feel hard is normal difficulty. My only complaint is the grind of dungeons that come on higher difficulties. On a side note this is alleviated on a second play through where you can set the exp gain and difficulty separately to cut down on the grind.

I think i will go very easy instead of easy. I just wanna see the story and social links more.
At least i will be braindead easy and probably would take less hassle than easy mode.

P4G a grind? On Normal? I really feel compelled to say that if one's grinding at that difficulty, in that game, they're legitimately doing it wrong. There are so many options and ways to get powerful that it's not required in the least.

I think I played it in normal and didn't die once even though I usually suck at RPGs. Overall I'd say P4G is a really easy game.

I've been playing a lot of story driven games on Easy lately. No shame. I did my work on difficult games throughout the last 30 years.

Play on easy and enjoy the story without the grind.

Having to spend any extra time in the first couple of dungeons won't do you any favors as you try to get into it.

The battle system is nice and all, but the meat of the game is the story and time management aspects.

It's a bit funny to see all these people talk about grinding in a stupid-easy game like Persona 4 The Golden. Did you grind in Mystic Quest too?

If you're playing on Vita, Normal will be just fine (heard PS2 is a bit harder). As a RPG fan but someone who didn't play P4 before until Golden, I pretty much had no issues on Normal for the most part, save for two very annoying bosses later in the game (I loathed the
game dungeon
battle, even if the music was kind of a nice touch) .
