More than the 60fps, it is the near instant PS5 loadings which could make the game better i think.
(I only played the OG on ps3 tho maybe it was not a issue with the PS4 version)

I hope its true, I just have a feeling that Sega will give this the Yakuza treatment in terms of a huge push as we saw them port, remaster and remake em and bring them to many platforms to expand the IP, seeing Persona get some of that same treatment, I can't help but to assume you'd get a remake of 1 and 2, a remaster collection of 3,4 and 5 and an announcement of 6, but a remake of 3 as well would be fucking awesome.
The series deserves it and I just hope any of the older ones gets a modern facelift.

This idea that its a PS4 game cause it came out also on PS4 is funny, I think people need to really, really look at those 2 games and understand, its a PS3 game...ported to PS4, we can't even say like "remastered", nah....ported to PS4 lol

shitty but that's par for the course with Atlus, not even giving a paid upgrade path for people that already own P5R is BS especially if you own the Ultimate Edition so you already have all the DLC that'll be included in the PS5 release (they could easily do like $10 for Ultimate Edition owners and say $30 for people that don't have all the DLC which would still be kinda crap but not as bad as nothing)
I'd really love it if that was the case but Atlus makes some really bizarre decisions sometimes

Honestly what does it matter? just play the PS4 version, you still get 100% of the experience.
I dont think anyone plays Atlus games for its high tech graphics.

When it comes to this title I'm not expecting any big upgrades with the Past version. Even if it is 4K @ 60FPs it's not going to be vastly different than the game on PS4.
The PS4 version is dirt cheap right now so it's definitely a good idea if you don't care about the PS5 improvements.

I'm not really defending it but at the same time its not something people should stress over, I'm not even buying PS5 version because already own both P5 and P5Royal on PS4 than I can play on my PS5 if I want to.

Im not sure this is on Atlus. It sounds like the same thing as with Yakuza 7 where saves didnt carry over and there was no upgrade path from ps4 to ps5. Something about Sony still using different SkUs for each version and Sega having to pay for the cost of storing saves somewhere. I cant remember exactly, but something in that order.

Thing is, the massive downgrades are not the only thing they changed for that version.
They changed the battle system so everyone but the main character is not a NPC (meaning you choose their attacks), they added the female protagonist, and you could save someone who died in the story events. I understand wanting to backport any "improvements" into the P3:FES sourcecode. But I agree. The name doesn't leave me with a lot of confidence.
Something like Persona 3: Fez Ultimate is something I would pre-order. Portable just seems like a bad fit for any HD release, PSP backdrops were 480x272 if I recall correctly; they'll have to change them anyway, why polish a turd.

I've been waiting to play this. I bought Persona 5 but didnt play it because Royal was announced. Then i bought P5 Royal and started it up and noticed it was 30fps on PS5, then i saw the news it's coming to PS5/PC/Xbox, then quit playing after an hour. No way i'm buying this game again. I'm just going to play it on gamepass when it comes out.

It might be that. Because the game is released on xbox one and series and I guess those are smart delivery. Buy one version and play where you want. So it doesnt seem like its Atlus decision here.
But now I thought saves did carry over after all after reading some of the comments here

They did fix it but it just boils down to the developer and whether they want to implement it. Fallen Order's native next-gen release was able to recognize and convert your file from either console storage, USB, or the cloud with no need to upload. That isn't the case for every game but it is apart of the SDK.
