Fifa is a surprise considering how quickly they got one out for Xbox 360 (PC port?). PES not so much. Japan will get Winning Eleven (note: not PES) as usual, and Europe will get PES7. In the meantime most will just play the PS2 version.

Oh yeah if they were continue to have these be exculsive it would be a big deal. But as of right now if people know that a version will come out for PS3 next year I think they will wait. If on the other hand there wasn't that certainty this would be huge.

So few people own an X360 here and software sales are so sluggish that any European exclusives affect only a handful of people.

Certainly, PS2 owners who have honed their PES skills on the PS2 controller for the last 3 or 4 titles aren't going to go purchase an X360 just for this one when the cheaper PS2 alternative exists.

I fully expect Winning Eleven 11 to hit PS3 in Japan early next year when it is actually ready.

Your right. The truth is sonys market share in europe is over 75%, so most people when they walk into a store will be buying a ps2 game. So when the average european joe walks into a store they will have 3 choices:

A. Buy the ps2 version for there ps2.
B. Buy an xbox360 and the xbox360 version.
C. Buy a ps3 and the ps2 version of the game.

If you said option A is the most likely to happen you'd be right. If you think option B will happen often you'd be stupid. If you said option C then your more right then you would have been if you said option B.

Nothing really new here: PES was never meant to come out on PS3 at launch. FIFA 07 has never been announced for PS3 as of today. Everyone figured out that FIFA for PS3 at launch was evident, clear. That's not the case. This is not even a deal between Microsoft and EA or Konami, just a de-facto situation that Microsoft highlighted today.

As a PES fan myself (as mentioned in a previous thread) I know what Seabass wants from his next generation football game and PES 6 ain't it, wait for winning eleven PS3 in Spring, you never know they may be able to fit all the languages on one disc and Europe will get an early release, we usually have to wait till November.

As for FIFA, I think EA have released 3 versions of it already in the last 12 months, it's beyond a joke.

PES6 is not a next-gen revamp of the PES series. Sadly as I really want one. Graphics look nice though....

I'm debating whether to get the PS2 or X360 one as I only use d-pads on PS2 and the x360 d-pad can't even navigate menus properly.

Over the controller S i think anyone would prefer the DS2 for pro-evo, you'd need to be some kind of mutant with 8 fingers to pull off the moves where you have to press the black or white button and Y or some stupid crap like that.

No such problem on th 360 pad though.


Why would you use a d-pad for PES? Full analogue control of the player movement is vital!
