I swear he keeps getting better and better.
I almost pissed myself laughing on this one.

(clap, clap)

I never used to watch him when he played games. But for the past few years he has been consistently getting funnier and I feel like trying to appeal to an older audience. What do you all think? Do you watch?
Who do you like to watch? I watch his stuff everyday.

I even watch his girlfriends videos (Marzia) they are super cute and aesthetic.

Dont watch him, but certainly appreciate how much money he makes playing games.
Fair enough, he doesn't really make gaming videos anymore though, that's why I started to watch more. They are more like funny meme videos or funny commentary on internet culture etc. Like I said his gaming videos are his weaker content IMO.

I don't intentionally not watch him. I just never got into the whole streaming thing. When my kids did and started talking about being youtubers I was honestly mortified. Couldn't fathom watching people play instead of playing. Then I learned how much money these streamers make, and since then I'm like "youtuber, sounds like a great idea."

I hear you, I hate watching gaming streams unless I want specific information about a game. Never got the point really.

Back in the day he was absolutely awful, just mindless screaming over happy wheels video's. Totally understood why everyone hated him. These last few years though, the dude has legitimately turned things around and I'd say he's one of the most legit funny youtube personalities around now. Definitely the opposite trajectory of most YouTube channels.

If you hated him like I did, I'd say definitely give the guy another chance, cause now that he's being himself, and doing what he genuinely wants to do, he's turned into a very entertaining and interesting channel.

Pretty much sums up how I feel about him. The content recently has been great. So funny. Hell him doing these book reviews is great (he read JP's new book and went over it) also reviewing whisky. Verrrrrrrrrry Niiiice!

I like him and some of his videos. He has definitely improved over the years, that episode where he lost some partnership I think was good for him. He's been free since then.

Edit: This thread reminded me that we need a Joe Rogan appreciation thread. His podcast is one of the best things on YouTube.

he's diversified pretty well and showed a lot of lasting power... i like the liquor reviews, actually.

just for a youtube creator point of view, some of the vids on monetization or state of streaming, ads, etc are interesting, too.

the new one talking about fortnite streamers is pretty funny hhhh

(about thumbnails and intro bait, clickbaiting kids/teens, etc)

Used to hate his videos years ago. Started watching again and just fell in love with the change of his content. Usually always get a good chuckle or two from his videos now.

For years I refused to engage in "Pewdiepie", everyone was talking about him, but I didn't get it. Now, years later, funnily enough I've rediscovered him, subscribed to his channel, and really enjoying his videos. I haven't followed him before, so I can't say for sure, but I sense that he's a lot more refined now.

Well, I made the mistake of watching that first one at work. I got about 3 minutes in and was laughing too loudly it was disturbing people near me :p I was even doing the loud snorting from trying to hold it in, it was actually kind of embarassing :(

I used to watch Pewds vids all the time until he thought nigger was an appropriate word to use to vent his frustration. It is what it is though.
Yeah, that wasn't his greatest moment. Not to excuse it but I don't think it was used with a racist malice, more out of frustration, then you could hear the immediate regret. It was never on his YouTube channel but on a twitch live stream. I do think there is a weird double standard on that word though but that's another topic I suppose.

I also feel like he actually learned and changed his behavior after that incident.

I really used to dislike his stuff years ago but I hadn't really watched a full video. I just knew he did playthroughs on horror games and had that intro where he says his name really high-pitched and that alone bugged me... but then I saw his 'I got a new car' video. It had me in tears laughing and his stuff lately, which is mostly social commentary is quite funny at times. He grew on me, he seems quite humble too which is an underrated value.

Sure he did. Shortly after that incident he did a skit with randos he paid to make a sign that read DEATH TO ALL JEWS and his response to the accusations was nothing more than him blaming wall-street.

As far as im concerned, Hes a jackass through and through with a wide audience to potentially spew his shit at.

And its not just him. Theres a list of youtubers ive boycotted for similar reasons like jontron

Just going to correct your time line.. the fiver thing was the first one, and then came the twitch incident..
the fiver thing was in bad taste.. but it was sort of an experiment to see how while he could go before they would say no.. apparently they didnt say no to anything..
The racist slur.. well yea that was really really bad.. no defending that.. though growing up in Scandinavia listening to rap and hip hop myself.. you kind of heard that word a lot.. and it subconsciously became part of your vocabulary just like “fuck” and other American swear words.. and it could slip out once in a while amongst friends, I can not deny that..😕
But we didn’t mean the same/real meaning of it.. it was just something we had heard from African American rappers.. that it could both have a brotherly meaning and a derogatory meaning.. but I was young and haven’t used that word in my adult life..

I distinctly recall the fiver incedent happening afterwards (which then got google and disney to drop support for his shows) but regardless, reaponsibility does need to be taken. Fuck is a natural part of our vocabulary now, sure, but the difference is that fuck didnt originate as a duragatory. So it was stupid move he did. Twice. But i suppose hes not all bad, i personally just dont like him.

Funny thing is thats been point out to him and his response was Hes "one of the good ones"

I mean, if him apologizing and changing his behavior (like edits swearing in vids now) isn't enough for you I don't know what else he can do for you. If you actually think he is a Nazi or bigot then I feel sorry for you.
Just a question do you watch Destiny (youtube)?

I dont feel sorry for you. You know exactly what kind of person he is but dont want to admit it.

Using the n-word then a few days later almost saying it again, videos with Nazi imagery and anti-semitic videos including the "Death to all Jews" video, the racist and sexist comments towards Leslie Jones.

The list goes on and on and on and after every incident he either "apologizes", passes the blame or just laughs it off. Because, why not? People like you lap it up.

Again your just pointing out the same two videos (one not even featured on his YouTube channel) as others have. I feel like people who criticize him for this reason and this reason only are just people who have never seen a video he has made and only read about him on buzz feed or the Washington Post. He comments about memes, these are jokes. I don't believe he has a single video showing ill intent in the way you portray. Do you even know the context of the "death to all jews" joke? You seriously think he is a Nazi?

So, you reply about the "Death to all Jews" video because you think you can explain that away as some sort of joke and a lame attempt at a Straw Man argument. But, what about the other stuff?

Dont see you excusing when he said the n-word on stream and almost say it again a few days later just to laugh it off.

What about the "Hitler did nothing wrong" video? Was that also just some joke? Or all of the other videos he did with anti-semitic jokes or Nazi imagery?

Or how about when he compared Leslie Jones to Harambe? Whats your response to that?

He's very fuckable looking but that's about it.

He is someone who read 4chan too much and then thought that the majority speak/believe that way.

I have no idea who Leslie Jones is, but regarding his Hitler was right video, that was pretty heavy handed but an obvious joke. I had the unfortunate pleasure to meet actual nazis at various times in the past and they would beat the shit out of pew if they ever met him. I remember one night when I had to leave a camp site in Eastern Germany early, because a couple of skinheads were on their way to beat everyone up who look or sound foreign. Actual nazis are scary as fuck.

Oh no, "Nazi imagery" in a fucking obvious comedic skit! Have you watched the fucking videos? I wonder how fucking humorless someone has to be to call them anti-semitic, honestly bullshit like this is painful to read. I imagine your description about the Leslie Jones "sexist comments" will be equally bullshit, does anyone have the video?

I don't like him and his videos at all. Even though I haven't watched a lot of them but always when I see his face I want to punch him, same with sodapoppin. Can't stand them for no particular reason. To me they seem so fake(? Don't know if it's a proper description of how I feel about these guys) imho.
There are some people you just cannot connect with. He's one of them.

Though I admit he's making a Shitload of money.. so he most probably has something going for him I cannot unterstand or relate to. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Too little time in the day and too many smaller channels more deserving... Enjoy what you want but I don't think 2018 is the year I start watching Pewdiepie.

He does a particular lane of humor that just isn’t for me. I also don’t think he himself is a funny person, he’s acting like a funny person. Smarmy fucker as well. But hey, can’t hate on his hustle.

That is a valid criticism to be honest, not that I agree 100% but I can definitely see how some people wouldn't like his sense of humor. Personally I prefer it when he gets serious or semi-serious and talks about stuff that interest or annoy him, he might not be the funniest person in the world (still funny imo) but he's very self-aware, has good taste and great critical thinking skills. A channel that does what PDP does as far as humor is concerned but imo is better is jacksfilms, he also has a trollish style but he's absolutely hilarious.

I remember watching a Kaceytron stream after that whole mess with Dr. Disrespect blew up, she said he was "white trash that fell into money". I can't argue with that, tbh. The same applies to this dude, it "may not have been his greatest moment" but it was telling. When Maxamillian dropped the same word while playing for honor, he looked like he swallowed a bug he didn't laugh it off like this dude.

Meh, saw a few of his videos a couple of years ago and it was just him screaming into the microphone in the most obnoxious way possible. It didn't really have any entertainment value you couldn't get from simply watching a 12-year old be a 12-year old.

I'm willing to accept the possibility he's grown and it's more tolerable comedy - but there's simply too much good content out there, such that there's not really enough time to reevaluate every YouTube celebrity who has a come to Jesus moment and wants second chance.

Also, even if he's become a more mature entertainer, his fan base remains insufferable.

When I read about him being a Nazi I decided to go see for myself. After I learned that it was just so very obviously not true, I kinda stuck around because he has a pretty neat sense of humor. He is one of the few channels I actually subscribed to, even though I don't really engage with YouTube that much.

I don't get what you are trying to say here. When the guy you watched said it it was fine because he was regretful? Did you watch his apology video, he made no excuses and said it was 100% on him. But whatever, if you don't like him because he said a word one time then I guess he isn't for you. Just surprising how people think he is some Nazi, racist.

But no one would ever call out someone like Contrapoints when (he? she?) dresses up like a Nazi and spews bigoted speech because they are "woke" or when Destiny calls people faggots and autistic retards every time he streams a game. I don't know, maybe i'm special because I can look past crude jokes and edgy humor.

That was before when he did that fiver thing. Basically saw if they would do the worst thing possible and they did. I bet you are kind of person that is happy that guy that got his dog to do a nazi salute to piss off his gf goes to jail too right?

Haha, apology video? I don't accept apologies from people who make mistakes and say things I heavily dislike. I, as a virtuous and perfect individual have never made a mistake and never said something I regretted, how do you expect me to forgive the flawed puny humans that screw up sometimes? It's 2018 people, stop making mistakes or we'll stalk you for the rest of your lives and smear you in every discussion. Oh, and please stop being a Nazi apologist or you'll be added to the list. kthxbye
