Peyton Manning is the ultimate choker

He didn't turn it over 3 times and over/under throw multiple receivers wide open?

Honestly it is kinda of funny no? All this talk about how Peyton lost the game completely undercuts the ridiculously great job of the Seahawks.

Denver got beat badly, it had nearly nothing to do with Manning. They got stomped, full stop.

whats your point? Games always changing. you can point your fingers all you want at manning, he played like ass and deserves criticism. But he did not give up 38 points, the whole team sucked ass, missing easy tackles, stupid hikes into the endzone. lazy receiving, thomas running backwards trying to get a few yards when he had the first. just dumbassery all around.

What's your point? He played like and blame should be assigned to him.. It's not the first time he has underperformed in the Super Bowl.. so yeah

When Peyton got hit on the pick-6 and Moreno(?) just stood there like a drooling dumbass with brain damage while the Seahawks player casually waltzed right in front of him to catch a ball that clearly had not been thrown correctly and was sitting there for days I kind of checked out of this game.

That was just a truly horrific play and was a microcosm of the idea that there was something very wrong with everyone on the Denver sideline today. Manning included.

You're talking about 06 right? Cause Manning was very good against NO even including the INT.

When you QB a team that scores 38 points a game during the regular season while breaking numerous records you get all the accolades. When that same team scores 8 points in the Super Bowl, you best believe you shoulder a ton of the blame, no matter how great the other team played

Autoerotic asphyxiation should be renamed to "Peytoning," since I think it's pretty clear that the dude gets off from choking.

I feel bad for the Seahawks because I'm sure they would have rather won the game on their own merits rather than just being the other team standing on the field when the Broncos imploded.

I don't care if Eli, Archie, John Elway, and Tebow himself were under center along with Peyton in some 5 QB backfield. Seattle was not losing this game. They were better in every phase of the game.

He's still one of the best of all time, but tonight was not a good look. The whole team played like ass, though. How does such a large group of people collectively forget how to play football?

It's not about him just losing, it's playing god awful.

He played ho hum. Made some legit good throws during the game but couldn't get into a groove. The pick six would have happened to any QB in the league: Seattle just made a play there. The rest is history.

Where it not for the Colts defense Manning wouldn't even have the one Super Bowl he does have.

Were it not for Saints recovering that onside kick he'd have another one.

He missed and ignored targets all night.

Denver's defense was already known to be trash.

Winning regular season accolades is not "prospering" You don't play in the NFL to win MVPS.

When it counts, Manning folds. Where it not for the Colts defense Manning wouldn't even have the one Super Bowl he does have.

Yes, actually winning regular season accolades is considered prospering. Prospering doesn't just mean "win a championship". And Manning already has won a championship, so I guess even if if prospering did mean "winning a championship" he'd still qualify

naw he was better than today, but very good doesn't put up only 17 on the Saints

early in the first quarter with that first hike fuck up i thought the team was already rusty

i mean thats as bad as fucking up a 30 yd field goal i think

but then after the seahawks scored their first TD i thought their morale shot through the roof and at that moment i knew the game was over

the broncos were asleep, didn't see any effort aside from the brief moment peyton started making small gains

but then he fucked up on a pass that got intercepted, and right then i knew that it was okay to change the channel

didn't even feel like a superbowl, felt more like a preseason game

even for seahawks fans there was just no challenge, nothing to fight, the broncos pretty much handed them all their points

on top of all this the commercials sucked ass

what has happened to the superbowl?

It had a good halftime show. Super Bowl right there.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that. I see from your response that you agree Manning is a choke artist.

People who treat team sports like individual matches know less about said sport than I know about the political climate of Luxemburg in the year 1947

yo you know what i think

i think peyton manning deserves an oscar

i think this game was rigged and some players outside the field just made a lotta money

What! You are telling me that Peyton Manning isn't Jesus? What the actual fuck. I was under the impression that he lost the game. Are you trying to tell me that the Seahawks just might have played outstandingly? This is lunacy.

Manning should have retired as a Colt. He is just hurting his legacy by continuing to play and lose playoff game after playoff games. He was basically carrying the entire Denver team on his shoulders all the way to the super bowl. Take him off the team and its a 5-11 or 4-12 team. Now he has 12 loses in the playoffs more than any other QB in history lol and probably fell out of most top 5 lists for QB's all time. With this loss I would put Brady, Montana, Young, Elway and Favre ahead of Manning. If he would have won he would have been top 3 easy. He should just retire before he hurts his legacy even more.

Actually, it's the opposite of that largely in the modern day NFL.

...and NBA if you want to get technical.

Defense wins championships.

Peyton had an off night, but the entire team was embarrassing. Special teams was pathetic, offensive players miscommuncating and fumbling everywhere, and the offensive lineman throwing safeties and leading Peyton to make errant throws.

This Super Bowl was not enjoyable because it was over at 22-0, leaving a half an hour of meaningless football. I had the inkling of a random blowout but did not know from which team it would come from. The presentation did not even feel like a Super Bowl, but a Week 6 regular season game. Denver was so lethargic and Peyton's legacy takes a HUGE L.

He is still top 3 all-time but wow, what a farce this game turned out to be. Credit to the Seahawks for incredible defense and punishing playmaking.

Not sure if serious. They won a playoff game the year before he got there.

I don't understand why people put Favre and Steve Young over Manning on some lists. Just wow.

yeah hes just gonna give up millions upon millions of dollars so he can save face on his legacy.

He played poorly, and his poor mobility and inability to stretch the field were costly, but the whole team and coaching staff shit the bed. It's just that he has a long history of coming up short in the playoffs.

I agree with everything you said.
