PGR - Snow on the Ring Video Holy snapplecakes!

Looks freaking sweet!

How long till another "Accidently used PGR screenshot" is used in another PS3 add? I mean, c'mon...every time a new round of PGR shots come out, this happens.

Otherwise, again, I will say that the newest shots are freaking great. Kudos (sic) to Bizarre Creations!

Snow looks amazing (especially from the dashboard view) but the cars look like crap. I presume there's no lighting in there yet.

They'd have done better just doing cool panoramic shots of the track with the snow etc as we all know PGR3's cars/lighting were fantastic.

Some way to go yet, then.

PGR3 lighting was fantastic? News to me.
The lighting on the cars felt wrong in that game.

As far as I can remember...

Either way, it was clearly better than the 'lighting' in this video.

I hope you can use every weather condition on the 'Ring, including night time. I hated how you could only race on that during the day in PGR 3, whereas PGR 2 did allow night time racing.

Speaking of weather conditions, I just read this at IGN:

IGN: How many different types of weather are there?

Ward: There are 10 different types of weather:

Clear: A normal, sunny day. Your cornering will be sharp, assuming you have the skills.

Overcast: There will be lots of cloud cover, but no change to your vehicle dynamics.

Light Rain: A little drizzle, but nothing to change your driving style too much. The track surface will be slightly slippery, and you'll find that too much gas will lead to your backend sliding around more than usual.

Heavy Rain: Lots and lots of the wet stuff. Your visibility will be reduced, and you'll be peering between frantic windscreen wipers when using in-car view. Deep puddles form around the track, and should be avoided at all costs.

Wet: The aftermath of a heavy rainfall. Clouds are still brooding in the sky. The track is wet, but the puddles are dissipating and everything is slowly drying up.

Storm: Danger time. Rain, clouds, thunder, lightning. The sky is black, and your chase camera will be obscured by heavy rainfall. Keeping your car on the track will be difficult… but racking up the sliding Kudos won't be!

Light fog: A slight haze rests over the city, giving a slight reduction in visibility. It does not affect vehicle dynamics, but stay on your toes and don't let any corners creep up on you.

Heavy fog: A huge cloud descends over the track. Visibility is severely reduced, and finding your way is difficult. On some tracks you can drive uphill and rise above the fog, so use this opportunity to scout out the route below.

Icy: A really, really cold day. Puddles are starting to freeze over, so watch out for them. You'd be silly to go out without wearing a bobble hat.

Snow: The track is icy and slippery, snow is falling from the sky, and all the puddles have completely frozen over. You'll need to drive slower and avoid the icy patches; even if it means straying from the racing line.

Remember though, it's not always this clear cut. Sometimes it'll be snowing, but not cold enough for the puddles to ice over. Sometimes it'll have stopped raining, but the puddles will still be on the track. You'll need to play it by eye instead of "learning" each track in each condition by heart.
:o @ storm.

I'd almost buy this for the weather effects alone.

I saw that too. It seems to bring in a lot more variety to the game.
The video looks awesome! Especially the environment.

HOLY snapplecakes is the right word to use Batman!

They kinda lost the shine with PGR3 (trying to be more realistic), but this is where it all comes back, WIN!

And TeamXbox is slow as hell, I get 50 KB/s download speed ;(, I want it on my HDD dangit!

There are 4 new pictures at xboxyde, all are showing tracks.

As pretty as that looks, will online racing still be as full of douchebags as PGR3? Got pretty sick of people ramming you out of a racing line with zero consequence to them.

Would help if you picked the same area of the track :lol

I love the suttle colours of the pgr4 track, though I don't know how quickly I would find it dull before changing it to snow etc.

The forza ring looks amazing in areas though, the draw distance is pretty amazing over those hills.

rain "wipes away tears"
finally...

BTW that Forza 2 screencap is a bullshot, Add jaggies & no filtering past 3 feet infront of you & then you have a Forza 2 screencap.
Oh piss off and go calibrate your tv correctly. *edit* well ok it won't look like x8 but damn it's hardly jaggy off the cars.

This video would be pretty impressive if the cars handled realistically with the snow. I know it's not a sim, but these kind of speeds with snow is really ridiculous to me.

Weather effects look great as do the tracks, cars like others have stated need some work.

in PGR4 draw distance shouldbe great too, but in the trailer it's obiously limited due to weather conditions.

IMO Forza 2 with quite a margin.

The PGR4 shot reminds me of how tracks are done in NFS games (not Underground).
