What's better than just upgrading your computer? Just upgrading your computer and buying PSU! The gameplay seems to be a lot like Guild Wars. Guess I'll find out after I own both of them

Except Guild Wars (like all online hack and slash games should be) is free of monthly charges. For some braindead reason Sega charges people a monthly fee for PSO.

Hopefully they won't for PSU, but they probably will.

Glad there's a 40 hour offline RPG to play.

No, a dragon was the first boss in PSO and PSO out way before Monster Hunter. Capcom most likely got the idea of Monster Hunter from PSO.

I wish Sega would just make the game $60 to $75 instead of a monthly charge BS. I would be willing to pay extra up front for online play. Tell you the truth though, the game looks so damn good I know I will end up paying the month fee.

Just got my May EGM in the mail today.

After reading the article, I'm a little disappointed. The offline adventure sounds great, as does the online, but from what I gather, there's no option to play the online 'dungeon hack' (PSO-style) mode of the game offline. As one of the 'more than half of all GameCube Phantasy Star Online players [who] never played it online' mentioned in the article (I did my online time with the DC version), I really enjoy just running around the dungeons laying waste to monsters and seeing what rare loot I can find. That, for me, gives PSO Ep. 1 and 2 incredible replay value--even now, I get the occasional urge to dive back in and scratch my dungeon hack itch. I really hope the developers add an option to play the online game offline before PSU ships. =/

That's been the opposite of my experience. Almost every time someone is afk without notice (One time, someone was gone for 5,000 EXP... to take a shower?!) or lotting at inappropriate times, they're JP.
Bad play doesn't bother as much as much, but JP are just as guilty there too. I've come across several JP RDMs, for example, who you'd think hadn't heard of Dispel and Refresh.
