Phife Dawg (A Tribe Called Quest) has passed away.

He was honestly my favourite sounding voice on the tribes albums, even though I loved q tip. God damn this is sad :(
 
Phife is gone? I'm buggin' out.

Phife and Q-tip complemented themselves so well, probably the best MC duo with RUN DMC (yes thats what I gew up with).

Wow I saw him in august of last year, he performed a few of his classics but he did look a little rough. Glad I was able to see him live he definitely was one of my most quotables growing up.
 
im really sad man, I grew up on fcuking tribe man.

glad I got to see all of tribe perform at rock the bells a couple years ago.

he shall live on thru the timeless music!!
 
2016 is again getting on my nerves with these deaths.

So glad I got to see ATCQ back in the 90's. 7 times total I believe including them with Leaders Of The New School performing Scenario in it's entirety at the Palladium. Easily up there with one of the best live Hip Hop shows I have ever been to. Most recent was Rock The Bells which is not all that recent now.

Really regret not going to see them most recently at Santos Party House in NYC last year but I did not feel like being in a crowded ass club at 41 years old. Hindsight is 20/20 though isn't it?

I draw on occasion and I also will do a tribute illustration when someone passes that had a big impact on my own life.

Midnight Marauders was the first CD I ever bought. I don't even know what initially drew me to it, but it was a great decision. One of my favorite albums of all time.

RIP.
 
I remember seeing them in the riviera in chicago when midnight marauders was out the place went bonkers when they played award tour. There was no one with a camera filming it all you would see was hands actually the only person that was filming it was ali shaheed he would occasionally pull out his little camcorder to film everyone going crazy.

Damn... both Midnight Marauders and Low End Theory are probably in my top ten albums of all time. I listen to them at least once a month, maybe more frequently than that.

This hits hard for some reason. Tribe Called Quest never really seemed to get the mainstream success they deserved except maybe for 'can I kick it' , which they didn't see much if any money from.
