Phil starts up Singstar demo.

- Song downloads, background downloading so you can browse while you download. You can upload videos of your singing performance, captured using a USB camera. Other users can rate it.

I knew they'd show it.

OH snap... background downloading!

SEriously though, I'm digging the youtube-ness of people uploading videos. But I don't like that they're singstar performances so much.

(live blogging, with live commentary on the blogging... it doesn't get much better.)

wonder what it means by "browse" while you download. Is it full background downloading or is it limited? Can you play a game while a download is in progress?

Yup. This has already exceeded my expectations. Gravy from here on, boys!
I just want to make it perfectly clear that I'm hamming it up like the rest and fully realize that was only stated in the context of Singstar. But, good sign nonetheless.

Stop expecting E3 like announcements from this thing, it aint gonna happen :lol

EDIT looks at Killzone image :O

.....Maybe I'm mistaken :)

Re-Edit: Crap Photoshop FTW :lol

10:41: Now we're moving on to developer support, with the question boiling down to "how does Sony intend to improve its developer support" with the sidecar of "Microsoft's is better." He says that the rumor of most of Sony's developer support coming in Japanese language only is merely a myth, and that since most of the parts of the PS3 were developed in English-speaking countries, the developer support is primarily in English. He says that Sony has taken a lot of strides to improve, but that there's always more to do. Croal is looking for a specific example, Harrison points to the nearly 40 games that are available and says that they're adding people internally, as well.

Phil just keeps throwing down those megatons as if they were going out of style.

I gotta give credit where credit is due: the questions asked are pretty good, and from the looks of it Harrison is handling them quite well.
agreed. espescially as he didn't refute that one about support, and instead promised to do better.

He better ask about Killzone PS3. Just toss it out there all acronym-like. "KZ PS3 - WTF?"

The questions definitely aren't softball, but they aren't hardball either. The answers are just common sense; logic mostly. They're exactly what you'd expect, making this whole thing kind of crappy (regardless of how well crafted the questions are.) Nothing new -- nothing that blows your socks off.

10:52: The next question is about how the PS3 hasn't matched Xbox Live's feature set for its online support. Harrison starts talking about how the PlayStation 3 is continually updated over time and that how the system looks today might not be how the system looks tomorrow. He says that there will be forthcoming announcements regarding the future of the PS3's online features.

His answer to "better 3rd party support" was 'We're adding people to our inhouse dev teams.' Not very encouraging.
