We forgive you, king.

It's a tweet from Phil Spencer addressing the leaks my man. This is certainly thread worthy.
Arguable, seeing that nothing was really said. This would have fit comfortably in numerous other threads. I guess my main gripe is the amount of threads that consist of a tweet or youtube video that does not include any actual input from the OP. I absolutely am aware that it is a losing battle.

Not as PR-y as you'd expect. I feel bad for the guy, though - lotta shit going on over there these days. A lot of it is self-inflicted, but the dude just can't catch a break.

"My ankles are behind my head, ya got me"

I doubt they changed the new console at all, NOW maybe in the terrible response will they change it. But thats due to a reaction not the actual act as initially perceived

If there was even a hint of a pro model we would have known today
These documents are most likely from the first half of 2022. Perhaps Microsoft genuinely believed Sony was not going to develop a PS5 Pro. Now that we all know a PS5 Pro is 90% certain for 2024, Microsoft will have had 1.5 years to change the hardware pipeline if they chose to.

Definitely not happy, but if everyone who has read the leaks actually believes everything is set in stone and that Xbox has not adjusted, dropped, or completely overhauled various aspects of the roadmap since these emails and infographics were created (sometime in first half of 2022), then the naivety is very strong in this forum.

It's not that nothing will change; they've already changed a couple of things and will change others. However, the intention of their long-term play won't change, most likely. So anything they adjust will just be a cosmetic change. The gameplan itself is still the same as it ever was, they'll just dress it up differently.

Well meaning that he said that plans changed, based on OP

Which is possible but as of right now if I were a betting man I would put large sums of money on its not coming

I'm so glad I'm working from home today so I can LOL to my hearts content without getting any funny looks from work colleagues

The comments in this thread 😂😭

I ❤ GAF

The gameplan is that a digital only future is inevitable, and that Microsoft is preparing for it with their next console(s). Did we really not know this before the leaks? Do you think Sony and Nintendo don't also see the writing on the wall?

First Sony Too™. Now Nintendo Too™. :/

Look not saying they won't move in that direction. But they're not the ones being so blatantly aggressive about it. Microsoft is.

I love how causal he tries to make it like 'yeah we heard someone might have seen an old email or some shit' when in actuality the senior leadership team and legal have been combing through the leak with a fine tooth comb over the past 15 hours :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I think it's 50/50 at this point. If an Xbox Pro does happen though, it will almost certainly come a quarter or two after the PS5 Pro.
Honestly at that point the most recently things I have heard is Xbox jump starting next gen a year or even two before the PS6 and seems Kepler is hearing different than 2028 as well

I don't know how much he knows but he's credible. Maybe his info is outdated.

Thanks to Loxus Loxus for posting this

Not sure if you being for real. Like literally the whole plan of xbox for the next 6-8 years got leaked. And the head of xbox is replying. The tweet alone deserve a thread.
Missing the forrest through the trees. As I implied, it is a recurring event that I find lowers the overall quality of discussion, this is just one such thread. The OP had the opportunity to start a dialog, maybe sharing their thoughts on the subject at hand. Idk, maybe I expect (or wish) the forum to be treated a little differently than twitter or Reddit.

Their internal emails literally just got leaked. We have no idea how Sony or Nintendo execs think about an all-digital future. Whether they are just as eager to embrace it or whether they want to hold out with physical for as long as possible. We are just kicking and burying Microsoft right now because they got caught with their pants down. Attributing the downfall of physical gaming media to them is just asinine.

Well shit if that ends up being the case they should have leaked their plans prior to the Xbox One release haha

This might work out in their favor getting a sense of the room on the hardware plans now in time to maybe make some corrections vs dropping that shit on and having to stand behind it. Do something more favorable on that front along with pumping out a steady stream of at least good-ish games and none of this matters. I'd assume someone in his position would do some hard self reflecting yet with those email leaks...

Dunno. Just sounds a bit like the same stuff I heard back during the XBO DRM fiasco. "Well Sony's gonna push DRM too! Even Nintendo's gonna do it eventually."

That all may be true but MS's the one with the hubris and greed to shoot first every single time and fall flat on their face for it.

Some stuff is clearly old, some stuff like the new revision of the console and controllers, definitely isn't.
