Phillip Phillips Home - Dear lord please make it stop

Eh, I'm just glad Monsters & Men got popular. They were squirming around on the web with that cute living room video back in 2010.

I will say I actually enjoy Fun.

I like the song but yep, it's overplayed. Also man... I would hate my parents for naming me 'Phillip Phillips", as they were too lazy to think of a better first name.

Fun just needs to go away and Goyte's "Someone That I Used to Know" should never be played ever again.

There's a Mumford and Sons song that I heard on Pandora yesterday that I THOUGHT was Home. They really do sound the exact same.

Anyway, I enjoy the song. Luckily I don't listen to the radio much to get too annoyed by songs like these. But trust me, Phillip Phillip's "Home" is nothing like "Hey There Delila".

Holy mother of baby Jesus, I wanted to blow up that studio for every creating such a song.

I respect Adele as an artist, but her shit is way overplayed too. Although thankfully she has died down a bit in the past month or two.

I don' t mind Maroon 5 too much, but they are a bit overplayed as well.

Fun/Phillip Phillips can go DIAF.

I'm pretty sure that 90% of the people hearing the song don't know that it's Phillip Phillips or that the name of the song is "Home"

Or that he won American Idol last year =p

I've never heard of this song. Then again I don't watch commercials. Also, then again, I had never heard Call Me Maybe until this past Sunday.

I really like the song Home. It's catchy and sounds very mumford and sons esque.

The writer of the song must be making serious bank off it.

Good song. I've heard it more than enough times though. Good for him though, it's been in the top ten at iTunes pretty much every day since he won Idol. His full album just went gold as well. One of the few Idol winners that did much of anything.

it means he wishes his words could build something sustainable. is that a real question

honestly i'm ready to go to bat for this fun. song right now

I'd have changed my name first chance I could if I was him, but I guess he's okay with it... It's really quite annoying to even look at.

I've never heard it (or heard of it) either. I had no idea what this thread was about when I clicked on it. Should I look it up?

First I've heard of this song. Yup, it's a shitty folk-lite jingle to play in department stores.

Fun's first album is good.

But The Format was even better.

This song IS everywhere!

Watching TV tonight, I heard it twice in one commercial break. First a Blue Moon beer commercial, followed by one for Silver Linings Playbook.

But I do enjoy it.

Y'all mother fuckers step off of Fun. I can't get enough of that good shit. I bought all their stuff and wanted more so bad that I bought the albums from lead singer/songwriter Nate Ruess's former band, The Format.

You know, when all I'd heard was "We are young" a billion times they seemed kinda douchey to me too. It's OK guys, seriously!

Edit:

Glad to see the Nate Reuss defense force in full effect. Dude can write a song.

First time I heard Owl City I looked at my wife and said " What the fuck is it with that guy always starting new bands?!"

I don't have cable and effectively live out in the middle of nowhere. I've only heard it a few times on the radio and once or twice going into a store. It is still a nice song to me but I hate when stuff gets overplayed, decent or not. :(

Sorry to bump this thread but at least I'm not making a new one expressing my hate for this song and For You which is also everywhere. Anyway, this song is in another tv spot for a movie called Philomena. I saw it last night while watching Conan. It's still going strong!

Try being married to a Filipina which means that every time the song is on your wife gets fucking pissed off about some American Idol steal or something.
