If you can't see it, watch #73, the guy on the far right of the offensive line.

They're trained to do that when the defense encroaches, you can see the guy next to him was just sitting there too. Sometimes the entire line will just sit there for the entirety of the play.

Yeah, FSU's O-Line usually all stands still when a defensive player is offsides. It's funny seeing just one player do it.

Because the play doesn't matter. The other team moved too soon (or touched one of the offensive players) so nothing counts. The offensive line is supposed to stay on the line so that it's obvious that it was the other team that moved too soon.

Offensive lineman aren't supposed to move before the center hikes the ball, because otherwise the defensive lineman could move across the line of scrimmage before it's hiked and be called for offsides. When there's a lot of movement on the line before a snap, it can be difficult to tell if the offensive line jumped first or if the defensive line is offsides. Therefore when the opponent is actually offsides they try to move as little as possible so the other side looks as guilty as possible.

I already posted this in the "questions that don't deserve their own thread" thread:

I'm urgently looking for the pic where the Queen of England is standing next to a bunch of athletes and one is having a boner. Maybe someone in here can help me out...

I want the gif where Doc Brown explains how the shittyness of Spider Man 3 travelled back in time and now all the Spider Man movies are shit.

While you're correct about centers being taught to hike the ball when they catch an offsides player, I don't think that was the case in that particular play (from the gif). Sometimes the guard is instructed not to move on running plays because the direction of their pull/push tips off the defense to which way the ball is going to go. The split second the defense wastes waiting for the guard to tip the position gets the runner a couple of short yards.
