To me snarky remarks like these just come off as childish, immature, unimaginative, derogatory and not least, disrespectful of others. It saddens me deeply because things like this do nothing IMO to cultivate friendly relationships between gamers like us let alone create a healthy atmosphere that would attract the kind of respectful and forward thinking people that would help heal the gamming community instead of the pitchfork wielding, mouth frothing, disrespectful, gun jumping, reactionary and immature pre teen (at least it seems like it) fanboys that seem to infest all parts of the gaming world.

I understand that competition is healthy, however competition shouldn't mean that we need to be immature and disrespectful to one another.

Think about it, why would you want to make someone feel bad? Why would you be ok with causing someone emotional pain? This is something that I see far to often in the gaming community and it makes me sad because all I want to do is have a healthy respectful discussion about games and gaming among others who also appreciate it but all I get now is snarky pejorative remarks and it heavily deters me from adding anything to the conversation.

At least athletes show respect for one another. We are all playing the same sport guys, different teams maybe, but there is no reason we can't show each other a little respect.

Sorry for the rant :\ it has been building up for a while now.

In what way does it have more potential? The architectures are essentially an apples to apples comparison. And a small apple does not have the "potential" to be bigger than a big apple.*

Are you trying to say that using the dollar sign in M$ causes some people emotional pain and makes them feel bad? If so, I believe they need to get a thicker skin and disassociate themselves from console manufacturers to the point where this is happening. If your goal is to equate M$ with a personal insult then your post has failed.

Every box has a kinect so there's a lot of potential there for developers that want to go that route. Biggest complaint with the 360 connect was that there were good ideas but it didn't work due to shit hardware. That's been fixed. The advance features could also be used in new ways. Think horror game that tracks your tension levels or a stealth game where you need to stay quiet and still to avoid being spotted.

Microsoft also has one of the best server networks out there up there with google and amazon. Dedicated servers for every game is fantastic and much needed for larger scale online. plus whatever the cloud stuff can do is a nice bonus. Sony cant touch Microsoft here, at least not yet. It's going to take time and a lot of money(which they don't have) to grow their network.

Specs on paper is one thing. Boxed features that everyone has is another. No console has been #1 solely on system power.

Right of the bat they have kinect, windows 8 apps, hdmi in, miracast (Ps4 might and probably supports the last one though).

Actually Windows 8 apps alone, even in the infant state they are now already gives xbone more potential as a entertainment device.

Wish we could see what they're looking at. I agree this may be an attempt to make them look more human and to try and appeal to a community which has been very critical of their product. It kind of works too. Really hope this is something more than that though.

How diverse do you think Sony of Japan is? The video games industry in the US is still primarily made up of American white males. This may change in the future but let's drop the shock at it, or even act like it's a bad thing. I believe 72% of Americans are classified as white. Give or take depending on what constitutes white.

Microsoft have really turned around their PR in recent weeks. They are effectively trying, and succeeding, in transforming themselves from the bad guys of the games industry into a group of human gamers.

Whether their intentions, aims and vision for the future of gaming and xbox has changed to reflect this is another question, which only time will tell.

The problem isn't with the posters, but with Microsoft: When you present a bad product, and then post non-specific PR group photos for it to try to excite the hardcore like the Microsoft person in this thread did, reactions are going to be bad.

Had Microsoft made a better console, reactions would have been better.

Ignore the real console and it's issues. There are real people behind this, alter your emotions to feel empathy please.

You wouldn't want to deprive these hard working people of their paycheques, their families rely on them!

I agree that MS should start showing real substance. We still don't know anything about any of the games they revealed except for Killer Instinct.

Which is a bad news for them. Means their OS can't be superior once again. Multi platfrom game were not to use extra ram on PS4, and exclusives that would make 3-5% of the games on the console.
Still PS4 has faster ram, 5.5GB is plenty for first 2-3 years. On top of having superious gpu but lets ignore that of course
