Pikmin's Art

I mean who doesn't love it? The games themselves are gorgeous and charming and so is the promo material.
In my Pikmin 3 anticipation I was searching for my Pikmin Gashapon mini Toy figurines. I took a crappy iPad-picture and spend some time in Photoshop. Of course it doesn't touch the official ones, but it was fun:

Bouns: 3D Picture for your 3DS (raw, unedited):

Instructions: Press "L" or "R" on the 3DS-Homescreen and select the QR-icon (the normal Photo-App doesn't have the option, also you need a fairly new firmware for this). It should take you to the pic and you can save it to your 3DS. Normal link: http://3dporch.com/z8hd

And here are some official ones, the first two make for awesome HQ Wallpapers:

It really is a beautiful game. I'm always interested in marketing material etc and Pikmin 3 has some great promo shots.

The basic premise of Pikmin really lends itself to creating striking and lushly textured diorama scenes.

A friend of mine suggested that it would be cool if Pikmin embraced a Claymation artstyle. The more I look at some of this art the more I think about how cool the game would look in that style.

To be honest the Pikmin art looks like bland and generic shit; too colorful, too kid-orientated, pretty meh - after playing TLoU, this seems like a high budget joke from Nintendo

I wish they would stop playing it safe and try something radically different - something like this for example:

Please bring Pikmin back to the 21st century, Nintendo. Thanks.

I almost took you seriously, lol.

I really hope this sells a lot. So much charm. I would hate for Nintendo to put this in the vault with 1080, Fzero, Waverace, etc.

You had me going, until I saw the pic. haha

Fantastic! It's hard to resist, I'm sure I'm in the minority but for me the original Pikmin WAS the "system seller" on the Gamecube... it made me buy the system and it was the first (and only) game I got at the same time. Of course other greats like Sunshine, Metroid, etc, found there way into my home and were great as well... but for me the GC always brings back Pikmin memories. It's going to be difficult not to buy a WiiU, and lord help me if there is a price cut on the thing ;)

So beautiful. ;_;

I've wondered though, are the Pikmin in these new Pikmin 3 promo shots real models or computer renderings? They are incredibly detailed. You can see pigment patterns on the skins of the Pikmin.

Urgh, it's becoming incresingly difficult to resist buying a Wii U for Pikmin...

and a lot of future games as well, but Pikmin is all I'd play for a good while.

FLAWLESS VICTORY.

Anyway, yeah, some really great promo art here.

This thread is fantastic! :D

Can somebody round all these up into one big gallery for easy sharing? This is too beautiful to be scattered around (and I'm not sure the best way to do this)

<3 this thread

So much cuteness (and cruelty)!

Edit: Ha! Found it! :D (and thanks for my new desktop background!)

Those japanese TV ads are absolutely amazing. Copy and paste NoA and NoE! Just replace the girl with Zelda and it's done.

Anyhow, can't wait for my copy to arrive. Only 12 days left in Europe.
