Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Campaign live on Fig

I dunno, how much has any campaign made from slacker backers? Star Citizen doesn't count obviously! Post-campaign funding will get much less attention and publicity than the campaign itself, so it's not going to be getting exposed to new audiences. I just can't imagine that there's thousands of people out there who are interested in backing but won't back during the campaign.

My Twitter game is strong. I shall do my best to get you all Ydwin.

Have they mentioned if the space pig plushie is going to be available as an addon at some point (maybe during the slacker backer period)? I find myself wanting it for some reason and an unexpected bonus from work is making me seriously consider bumping myself up from the $250 tier to the $500 tier.

Someone please save me from myself.

They gave a kinda non-committal "we will look into it" when they were revealed. I think they're crazy not to, but with less than a day remaining for the campaign proper I dunno.

Just backed at $30! Do I have to do anything special to gain access to the GAF island?
Probably not. But this won't actually be known until the game is out.

But the Goose And Fox inn was practically at the entrance of Defiance Bay in the original PoE so I wouldn't worry.

So I'm thinking that with 11.5 hours to go there's a decent chance of hitting $4.25 and maybe $4.5 through the rest of the slacker backer campaign. Even if it doesn't get there this has been a pretty amazing crowdfunding campaign all told.

Yeah, $4.25 is going to happen even if it's with after campaign PayPal and slacker backer setup. That's cool since I was always partial to Lirarcor in BG2.

Wound up backing after all with $45 tier and $20 DLC add-on. Pirate ship, world map and Deadfire exploration pushed me over.

you're gonna be eatin' CRPGs and you're gonna like 'em! They're the basis of a healthy diet!

Also, I'm pretty sure the Deadfire campaign surpassed the original PoE KickStarter if we're not counting the slacker backer period. And it looks well on track to surpassing PoE's crowdfunding total even before the Fig campaign ends. Well done, Obsidian! You guys deserve it :)

Guys talk me out of upgrading to the physical collector's edition with the statue.

My cloth map addiction is kicking in!

Yeah it seems this campaign is coming together much better than the first one. i was going to do a replay of PoE but Torment comes out soon i might have to do that afterward.

If you get the physical collectors might as well get a normal boxed copy since those arent going to exist outside the crowdfunding campaign either. i fucked up the first time around and only got the collectors for PoE.

I'm in for $750 so I'm here to encourage you to upgrade.

What you really want is that signed box for only $50 more.

You guys aren't doing this right!

Dammit.

Fuck 9 hours and change to get another 1 Million. It's going to take a miracle. Hopefully they get close so they only need a bit of slacker backer support to finally get there.

Edit: Ohh shit they increased the Investor limit by 250k due to high demand.

I guess that CRPG thirst hasn't been quenched yet.

Now, if everyone includes that $20 DLC upgrade we can all welcome Ydwin as a new companion!

I'm considering it, but I haven't even finished the White March yet.

This is going to be the most I've ever spent on a game. I feel a little less bad about this since I've bought most of Obsidian games for $10 or less (hello steam sales). I'm just making up for that.

I wish White March would go on sale. I feel like it's never on sale. I'm sure it has been but not often and not for much off.

It's 40% off this weekend. Not the best, but it's really good content that's probably 20-30 hours at least for $15ish.

Oh! When I just checked Steam an hour ago or so the main game was discounted but the dlc was showing as regular price, lol. I assumed they weren't included in the sale.

Edit: Wait it's still showing as regular price for me.

Oh sorry, I forgot it's not on sale on Steam proper for whatever reason. It's on Bundlestars but it gives you a Steam key.

it's a fine price for the WM expansions. It's a decent amount of content (hours) for that price... then again, I can't complain about "too much PoE" (even if some enemies clearly destroy my party, lol)

How high will we gooooooo

Also chiming in to agree that White March is excellent. Especially part 2, which gets into some BG2-level epic craziness without losing the coherent world-building and thematic hooks that I loved in the base game. Encounter and level design are also a big step forward.

I backed the original Pillars of Eternity but haven't got to it yet, I decided to back this at the digital copy tier. It is cool to see it smashing it's goal.

Update #18

Ship Crews

Ships alone are pretty awesome, of course, and customizing your ship is even more awesome -- but what about being able to hire and manage the crew of your ship? For the $4.5 million stretch goal, we are introducing just that! Find, hire, and manage a crew for your ship. Once hired, crew members can be assigned roles on the ship, and will play a role in the events and battles that you encounter at sea. Crew members can gain experience and improve at their roles over time. The crew's skills will improve how effective your ship is in combat situations, and the crew can be assigned to defend your ship in the case that you get boarded by a hostile force. If your crew's morale isn't maintained, their effectiveness will go down, and, if you are a truly terrible captain to them, mutiny can even occur. We are also introducing crew dilemmas that will allow you to take charge and be the captain when they look to you for guidance!

Majestic incline!

Nice nice. That's a good goal, especially since it'll probably be the real end goal unless the slacker campaign is somehow absolutely amazing.

I wonder if we'll sneak in that final island in the next six hours. Seems decently possible.

Have they said if you'll be able to upgrade your pledge after the campaign on Fig has ended? I'm in at $59 but may want to upgrade later to the Collector's Edition.

What hapened between Feb 22nd and 23rd for that high peak?

Hmmm, I have a question. Can I add the Season Pass later after this is funded? With the Switch around the corner, I need to be a little careful with my budget.
