Lol yea, I kicked that big ol music post out the door for taking a somewhat unplanned break. Unfortunately, the RSS feeds didn't seem to pick it up, so I don't think I'll be making a post that long again.:lol I'll be getting into it again now that I've got the kinks worked out of this new laptop and my classes for the 2nd semester are all settled into a blow off groove.
 
Ok, I'm looking to move my blog to my own webspace and add some ads. Any suggestions?

And wow, Google has really changed its algorithms. Just put up a new post about Tom Brady being the Anti-Christ and it's right on top.

you'll have to register a domain name and get a hosting package. it's not really that complicated to transfer a wordpress blog. :)

as for ads, google ads are usually a wise beginning choice.
 
Yeah. I'm a nub for saying what I'm about to say, but whatever:

Why is installing a Wordpress theme such a trial? You have to go through all this crap with signing up with a hosting company, editing some config file within the wordpress installation package. I don't have to go through all these hurdles for Blogger. Just sign up, go to a theme/template site, download the .zip/.rar/.whatever package and do one of two things: copy the xml code of the theme or upload the theme from your hard drive. That's it.

If the theme installation process for Wordpress is just as easy as it is for Blogger, but I've just been too blind to see it, can someone please enlighten me?
 
After over a decade of "regular" websites, we've decided to keep it simple and go with a "blog" format. It's pretty much anything goes as we're an off-the-wall bunch. Updates can range from gaming to obscure horror movies ;) Eggs and Ketchup.

Yeah. I get some weird blogroll listings and some pretty surprising links.

I was linked on Sam Kennedy's 1up blog a few weeks back. That was really surprising.

Post in other forums where people may find it of interest. Post comments in blogs that you read as they generally allow you to post your URL, and of course make regular posts. As you build content, the searches engines will begin to pick up on your stuff as well.

My traffic continues to grow. Getting between 700-800 hits a day now.

If you have a technorati widget on your site, they now have an upgrade which you get on your account. The old one in typical tech fashion is already bugging out.
 
Booyah! 2 month old bump...go!

Created a blog to randomly toss my thoughts on. More of an online diary I suppose than to serve any kind of real purpose.

Plan on updating daily with whatever interests me at the moment.

I think my recipe review of The Dark Knight is going to rake in the views...oh my god is it original.

Check it if though wisht. I'm going to randomly comment on GAF as I see fit. Perhaps a weekly GAF thread roundup or something to that effect.

Frothing Demand

I was intending to do a lot more with it, but I'm busy/lazy, so it just became a weekly update thing where I post all of my articles for the week so my girlfriend, friends and family can read them easily.

It's very good, They are both very talented writers. It should be right up GAF's alley in most respects. I'm not even sure he'd want me to post this here, it might be an inside sort of thing he does for himself and the people we know, but I'm proud to have such talented friends so i figure I'd show it off.

I should say the blog is usually their lighter stuff as well. Allen has written a short story that he's shopped around at comic conventions around the country and can be downloaded for free here http://www.victoryisyours.net/ (really funny and a great read) and Ian is one of the smartest people I know especially when it comes to literature.
 
Still posting at the same blog I linked to earlier in the thread, my original blog. But, writing that has helped me to get a paying blogging gig for Gadling, a trave blog owned by AOL/Time Warner.
 
I have a sketchblog here. I draw a different character everyday and I'm about to wrap up my second month straight (yay). Last month was cartoon characters and this month is videogame characters.
