Pizza vending machines soon to make US debut

So we get pizza vending machines, but they're decreasing the size of soda cups out of concern for the public's health.

Inconsistency, FTW

Also.....holy shit yes! Day 1.

Well what's so unhealthy about a pizza? A soda is just liquid candy but a pizza at least has some dairy and a bit of meat/tomato. The crust itself is no worse than any sandwich bread, right? I would think.

No. Now the voices will start again.

I'm curious to try one, don't know if I'll spontaneously buy a whole pizza too often the way I might if I ran into a soda machine and bought one. Can't imagine the quality is too great. Putting one next to a Red Box is genius though. Or could be anyway, depending on how much stuff fits inside the machine it'd be really annoying to have to make frequent trips to refill the cheese and pepperoni.

Dominos lists a serving size of one of their medium pizza's as 1/8th of the pizza. That should tell you something.

It took 3 pete-sir's before I had to stop watching the video.

It didn't look like the best pizza, but vending machines work at 3AM. So I'm all fucking for this.

Call me when we get these

edit: wow apparently there's 1 vending machine for every 23 people in Japan o.o

The food in this thing is disgusting. And as you can see by the prices not exactly a bargain. 350 yen for some soggy microwaved tasting fries? Yeah I'll walk the extra 5 minutes to the nearest McDonald's.

Everyone seems to have glazed over how it looked when it came out of the oven. I've seen better quality pizza in gas stations, ffs.

It looks pretty good for a pizza that was made in 2.5 minutes from scratch by a vending machine to me. Of course it isn't going to look or taste as well as handmade pizza's or even as good as one that rolled out of a giant factory. But for what it is, it's pretty damn impressive.

Actually the machine has a deep fryer built into it. The difference between that and McDonalds is the vending machine fries wait around for less time.

First of, it says fresh but it's obviously all processed. Then the base is pure carbohydrates which is basically sugar. Good chance there is also sugar in the tomato sauce. Dairy is fat. There is not one healthy ingredient. It's just as bad as a soda.

I can see the usefulness in this. But I like kick-ass vending machines like this, its just too cool.

If I see one, I'm so trying it out!

I'll try it for novelty, but the pizza in the Youtube video looks naaaaaasty. I'd have to be completely wasted to eat one of those.

Speaking of which, these would do gangbusters if you put them on university campuses around the library and/or bars and clubs.

The prevailing thought in my head: Every time I pass one of these machines I am going to turn to my wife, flex hard, and grunt "LEEEEEEEEEEEET'S PEEEEEEEEEEETZAAAAAA!" like an 80's wrestler. Anyone else?

stayed in a hotel in Chicago in the mid-90's that had a mini-pizza vending machine.

It cost about $8 a pizza and took like 10 minutes. I remember my brother and I just hanging around the machine waiting for it to be done.

It was some of the worst shit I've ever eaten in my life, naturally.
