i remember this one game i really liked. i think it was similar to gradius. can anybody name similar games? i would love to play that again.

This thread made me dig out my old Konami LCD games. Sadly, it would appear that my Gradius game no longer works. My Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles one, however, still functions!

I also found my old Tiger Batman game. Didn't bother testing that one...I remember the sound burning my ears when I was younger.

Was it...Gradius?

What? People actually liked these? I remember getting a Terminator 2 one as a kid and thinking it was one of the worst gifts I had ever received.

Man, I used to always get these for Christmas as a kid. I'd play them for about 20 seconds before going back to the NES that was connected to the TV. These games are generally awful.

These things were so bad they made me feel sad when I used them back in the day. Not sure this is the kind of nostalgia I wan to relive.

you were both obviously either playing the wrong ones, or have poor taste in games. that and probably poor attention spans.

How in the world was this site made? Taking a picture then hacking the systems and overlaying the graphics? Just the clarity of the visuals and stuff is impressive.

Anyway, I had the Double Dragon game (and a bunch of the Tiger ones).

Great site! Bookmarked for later :)

I had a few of these when I was younger but can't remember which ones. Hopefully having a look around that site will help me remember.

So they straight-up have Game and Watch on this thing. How is this legal?

Besides, it doesn't my Phantom Menace LCD lightsabre game with motion-control :lol

I wonder if they have the Power Rangers and Sonic TIGER games on here...though no idea if they licensed these and how long they will be up.

A collection of these would pretty much be a perfect iPhone app (or for the money grubbers, multiple apps)

Can't find a good image of it but I used to have a Mickey Mouse raking game. Could never really figure it out.

My sister had this for a while too.

Sweet. :)

My parents and I went to Hawaii when I was 5 or 6, my clearest memory of the trip is playing this on the long-ass flight. Good times.

I came to post the same game. I remember being on holiday as a kid, sitting beside the pool in (the former) Yugoslavia playing the ass off this game!

I have that Donkey Kong Jr. game. I played it for hours.

The Super Mario Bros. game was pretty decent, too.

This mean kid I knew owned the awesome-looking Zelda game, but he wouldn't let me play it.

never played any handheld LCD games except for game and watch (I had donkey kong Jr, my sister had donkey kong). My earlier days were LED 'mini tabletop' stuff like supercobra which was awesome!

It's not on the website, but I used to play one of these all the time when I was little. I can still whistle the music today.

I think these things had the most uncomfortable, painful controls of any video game in history.
I have this (found it in my loft only the other month, still works) and sonic 1 when I was young, sonic 2 is near unplayable, wtf were they thinking when designing that.

Sonic 1 was good.

I own that! I don't even think I had a Game Boy when I got it, I just played it on my Super Game Boy.
lol I guess I'm not the only one who had a Super GameBoy before the real thing.

Bam, I owned this too. I remember getting a new Tiger handheld every year for Christmas.

I even owned that piece of shit R-Zone, got it for Christmas one year. I remember playing the shit out of Virtual Fighter and Daytona USA. Then I bought a few more games here and there and got rid of the thing.

I still haven't seen the football game I had when I was a kid anywhere. Maybe someone here knows about it? It was red and rectangular, like a normal-sized one, bought in Gran Canaria in '87 or so I think. My first ever handheld (heck, probably my first ever gaming device whatsover when I think about it).

And when I say football, I mean the kind that you 'mericans call soccer. Not handegg. ;)

nope.. didn't have a single one of these.. I do vaguely remember some LCD games... from the very early 80s. But the only one I remember vividly was the standard red LED(?) football (american) game. where you would have your one guy and would move kind of rogue-like.. every move you took they would take.

pretty sure it was this one

I only ever had the Sonic 1 Tiger game, but I used to play all of the other ones my friends had in grade school.

Mega Man 2, Simons Quest, Aladdin, Power Rangers, X-Men, Afterburner...so very good.

The Konami ones were great too, as were (of course) the Game and Watches. My favorite electronic games were the old-school mini arcade cabinets, though. Pac-Man and Donkey Kong were AMAZING.

Oh man I remember I used to have a Castlevania game on one of those things when I was a kid. I used to play it a lot but I don't think I ever got very far.

It was this

Oh man, I had this on reserve in my Mom's car for YEARS.

I played the Karnov game quite a bit until one day it started working without batteries in it. I freaked out and smashed it hoping to kill the demons inside.

True story.

Yes! I had a Super Mario Brothers one that I loved. This site is one of the greatest things to happen to the Internet. I had at least 30 of these things

I had the same one. This kid I rode the bus with told me that if you beat the game 300 times, the watch would explode. The things you'll believe as a child.

I owned that one too and played the fuck out of it. Then a new kid moved in down the street who had Double Dragon 1 and we traded, oh what an awesome day that was.

Okay, forget the other Power Rangers one I said I had. THIS is the one I had:

The background was 3D!

I used to have a watch that had one of these types of games on it, it was some kind of football (soccer) game.

SO. MANY. MEMORIES.

Seriously, i first wanted to destroy the thing in frustration, but i fell in love with it and would break the nose of anyone who troubled it.

I still remember the music as clear as day...as crazy as it sounds, i was dissapointed that the MD version didnt have the same tunes. (we was quite poor then and i didnt get a megadrive until way after sonic 2's release.)

seriously id buy one today if i could find one.

You can buy them on ebay for about $20 including shipping. I'm seriously thinking about grabbing my old Double Dragon II.

Incredible, they've got the old Bartman LCD on there.

I played that one so much that one of the buttons broke and all the stickers (the white sections) fell off. I also remember having an old Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles one that you had to wind up to play, it was incredible.
