Yep. They should definitely have some sort of pop-up or small crate opening animation so it's clear which one you got.

No, it happens to me all the time. I buy my crates one at a time now because of it. I'd be pissed about it if those crates ever had anything close to worthwhile in them but they don't so eh
More specifically, what happens is this (and I tested this thoroughly the other day by writing down my entire inventory and numbers of each item)...
I'll buy multiple crates at the beginning of the week since I've got points saved up
I paid for 4x crates and I have 4x crates in my inventory
I open three crates
receive three items
and somehow I'm all outta crates

Yep. 1st person > 3rd person for me.
This is different than what I was replying to though, he complained the item of a crate would disappear after he opens said crate.In your case, a crate seems to disappear entirely.

ARMA 2 and 3 taught me all about how the M249 is secretly the thing that changes Bruce Banner into the Incredible Hulk. That thing will
- rip enemy vehicles to shreds in like two seconds of sustained fire
- kill an entire squad without reloading
and its most useful facet
- keep an entire squad motionless and scared shitless
Specifically, I get some sort of error popup saying the crate failed to open, while it vanishes, so even if it's a duplicate (I don't have proof either way) it FEELS like you lost the crate completely.
Even if the create opens successfully, it doesn't tell you what you got and you have to look for the little border or whatever.

This happened to me. The drop was right outside the zone so I went for it and got a Kar98. I died by the blue.

Yeah I've had this problem too.
My router had been having issues recently so I just assumed it was down to that. I got a new router and haven't had it happen since.
It could all be a complete coincidence though.
And thats standing, if you had been prone... they would have died in half the time

Damn I actually got my second solo win of the day out of 7 games. I don't know if it's just today or if something "clicked" but damn It feels good.
I still died once because my map was open and someone started to shoot at me but I panicked and couldn't close it.
Also am I the only one that have a hard time with the 4x on a AR? I feel like I'm missing everyshot with it.

Yeah, I've been through this too. I haven't watched to see what my inventory looked like before and after, but it really needs improvement. It's an alpha game and this stuff is probably low on their list, but it's frustrating to not know if some bug just made you lose your gear or if it actually worked. Compare it to Overwatch where the loot system always works fine and shows you exactly what you received.
The 4x is my reticle of choice for an AR. I typically run either another assault rifle or an SMG with a red dot or holo sight and an AR with a 4x, unless I can find a sniper rifle setup. The 4x gives you better vision if you're outside fighting someone at a distance.

Not me, but half the fun of that gun is being Rambo with it and walking at people while 100 bullets rain upon them causing them to contemplate their existence.
So many questions now:
1) Why is first person not available for Squads?
2) Are those all the outfits that are contained within the crates, or are there more items
3) Are the outfits pictured with males only for males?
4) How is PUBG getting me to break my streak of never paying money for keys and cosmetic bullshit

I'm confused about these crates, is there three to open during this event? And do we get a mixture of items? Or is it one crate one outfit and you buy each crate that unlocks an outfit? Then you buy another and get another?

Jesus, cosmetics and 1st person before the vault & animations update? Ok..
I had avoided the cosmetic dlc scene for this long. The will to pay has got me at the edge of pulling the trigger for this game.
I'm ready for the crates.
It's almost like some things take less time to implement, weird.
Just found a crate out of the blue just now with a Groza and level 3 helmet. Manage to get a 4x scope on that bad boy, find myself a Kar98 with 8x scope as well.
Pleased as punch with my arsenal, went out looking for a vehicle to get my ass in the circle.
And of course, like some punishment from above, I manage to spend the next 10+ minutes running like a headless chicken to get in the circle with no vehicles anywhere. Fuck me.
This is a good video. First-person makes the experience so much better for me personally.
I'm just kinda done with people being able to see me through a wall when it should be physically impossible to do so. If you want to peek in a window, you better be ready to expose your noggin in the process. It should be a risk.
Can't wait for first person servers.

That would be alright if they didn't tease the damn things like it was ready to go. No offense but the servers are awful every single night here. I remember player unknown saying he wanted stability before implementing stuff like cosmetics.
I honestly thought a death cam/replay system or the vaulting system would be coming before those.
For sure. The art team should stop what they are doing, move out of their area of expertise, and assist with stability.

The servers got so bad just now that I got killed in a tree fight when I got rubberbanded 15 feet backwards onto a grenade.

Man, I hate this game. Frustrating piece of crap.
And yet I still play it... never have I played a game with so many cheap deaths, stupid decisions (by myself), bugs and unoptimized game. It's like a drug.

Well if the update only had the cosmetic stuff you would have a point.
EU or NA servers? Every night on EU I get shots who don't register and the servers hitch every so often, happening during the worst times (shotgun fights, when you're about to breach a house, etc..)

Perfect drop, instantly kitted out, see some car racing to the house i'm in and I literally shower it with goddamn lead. I am in perfect position with cover all around and a high vantage point.
I empty my AKM with extended mags, M416 with full mag, the car was close enough to underhand lob a grenade into and I was hitting my mark according to the red dot.
But nope, dude survives, gets out and manages to shoot me with a single AKM shot to the head in like .02 millisecond.
Fuck me.

You should get 2 kills if you manage to kill someone with the SCAR ironsights, especially if it's over 100m away.
(I also had a fun moment where I stole a car from a dude and it flipped on... idk an invisible pebble or something, and as I began my torturous doomed swim to the south island, for entertainment I had two guys on the beach in front of me behind beached boats crouching and peeking for 45 seconds straight without ever taking a single shot before I died)

I dont like skins but I just hope the game doesnt turn into a load of Santas running around. This is a realistic combat sim game and I dont want that immersion ruined.

Probably better off just buying the pieces of clothing you want right before the crates become unobtainable.
Cheaper than wasting money on crates or keys.

As you said, for a random piece of clothing. It's no different than most games on Steam with crates right now and it's entirely cosmetic. Not to mention the market is pretty damn healthy and active, so you won't have any trouble swapping for something you need.
