Two new images of what seems to be a new PlayStation 3 advertising campaign have surfaced on Ruliweb today. No information was given on where this appeared, but they did list the people who did these impressive ads.

Advertising Agency: BBDO Chile
Executive Creative Director: Joaquin Bascunan
Creative Directors: Cristian Schinadeerman, Emerson Navarrete
Art Director: Emerson Navarrete
Copywriter: Cristian Schinadeerman
Illustrator: Ricardo Salamanca
Photographer: Lautaro
Head of Art: Fernando Riveros

That is really all they mentioned. We don't know when and where these will appear, but they look stunning.

Just found this on the web. Those images are really amazing. I would really like to see this marketing campaign in full swing.

Lacks focus as an advertisement, but it is nice art.

EDIT: But the second one sort of brings Nazi imagery to mind.

Impressive art, though after the decent commercials featuring that symbiote like black goo effect I can easily see this trying to do too much for its own good bringing back memories of those cryptic adverts featuring crying baby dolls and exploding rubik's cubes.

Totally guessing here but...

#1 - God of War

#2 - Call of Duty

?

#1 looks way more like Lord of the Rings to me, although I imagine its just meant to represent a typical fantasy game.

Art looks hot.

Infinitely better then some of those embarissing Euro commercials were. Even though I was partial to the "buying a PS3 is like blowing up a suitcase full of money" analogy in of of their commericals.

This reminds me of the Coca-Cola TV spots where they show the whole exciting world that goes on inside a Coke machine. I think the same sort of significance is being shown here.

The image with the girl brings to my mind God of War memories.

The one with the kid, the X button on the flag that resembles the nazi flag brings Killzone into memory, i remember the helghast in the original having flags of the same style and things like that.

Nobody can see the reference to the building of escapism in times of war? The fact that they've used their own branding to depict the flags of oppression is bold, but showing the the monuments to childlike naiveté is moving indeed.

EDIT:
Argh, can't link to Kotak.u, anyways, was just showing the billboards that Sony showed off at E3 2006.

And if anyone has the Shadow of the Colossus magazine ads.... I'd greatly appreciate if you guys could share. I've looked all over the internet for it but I could never find it. Those were spectacular.

in the second one, it's a hoop rolling next to the big wrist on the ground. just to the right.

it also shows all four just under his foot, in the eagle-holding-lightning frieze.

is there any other images ? so far we have lotr-esque fantasy and world war setting. it'll be interesting if they have some modern contemporary and futuristic sci fi theme

:lol

Looks like Mordan finally seceded in taking over the world.

The banner with the X on it looks just like the ones found in Metal Slug. A quick example of at least the logo:

These ads really do convey the message quite well that the former means of playing videogames is dying. Deep, man.

Wait, what are these for again?

And Sony continues their recent trend of print advertising that looks cool but totally fails as an advertisement.

the concept is a bit convoluted.

its cool imagery, but its more viral advertising than it is print advertising, i'm sure.

do we even know if its for print advertising?

how come nobody has mentioned the fact that both pictures feature a DualShock2? kind of weird to have those in a PS3 ad i think
