Playstation 4: August games

Nice thread!
August has some great games I will definitely get =

First Light
Plants vs Zombies
Metro Redux
Diablo III

I probably won't have time to play everything since q work and onto college but I'm am excited for those games since I never played Diablo nor any of the Metro games

If Sony were smart they'd do a price promotion about the downloadable titles. Get them all of most of them for a nice discount.

the indie games listed here are on a special sale. you get 2 you get 3$ back, if you buy them all (4) you get 10$ back

Is that an SCEA promotion? I hope we'd get something similar in SCEE territory because cross buy rules out importing them.

The Last of Us
Diablo III
Metro: Redux
InFamous First Light
Plants vs Zombies

Are the games I will be buying eventually. Right now The Last Of Us is the only one I'll be buying on release date.

I'm going to buy for sure Diablo 3 & First Light, Redux looks really interesting I will keep an eye on it.

Then Destiny and White DS4 in September, thankfully Dragon Age was moved to November.

Diablo 3 for me, gonna roll hard.

hmm, there is a pre-order discount special going on for those incomming indies...
The biggest problem is, which one is going to be the PS+ free title of the month?

to order or not to order...

Solid month if you ask me.

Can't wait to play Diablo 3 again without the dumbass auction house and an actual loot system, plants vs zombies and Hohokum.

Counterspy is tempting too

I never have as much time to play as I need but I'll be picking up First Light and Madden for sure. I'll be playing The Last of Us for a while since it'll have just been released.

I want to play Metro and The Swapper looks interesting, but I'll probably wait until I finish some other games before getting those. And Diablo is a probable pass but maybe I'll get that at some point later as well.

Hohokum, Plants vs. Zombies, Infamous: First Light, CounterSpy and Minecraft is what I'm really looking forward to.

Diablo III, Metro Redux, The Swapper and Rogue Legacy (you forgot that one) will be played on PC. Though I'll get them on PS4 eventually when they drop in price.

Yea, PS4 has no games.

Me neither, August is gonna be awesome for me.
those 4 plus last of us as thats august over here, and minecraft and hohokum for my little lady.

I'm interested in : The Swapper, Infamous First Light, Metro Redux, Hohokum and Counter Spy. Damn that's a lot of games and the high gaming season, aka September-October-November, hasn't even started.

I have some interest on those 3 games:

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition
Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare
inFamous: First Light (DLC)

But I may not be buying them this year. I'm not sure if I would play PvZ for more then a couple of hours. And besides I really enjoyed inFamous SS, this DLC doesnt seems to me a very good extension for the game, I wouldnt say that playing as Fetch would bring to the game new options and experience... so I will wait to see overall impressions about it. And about Diablo III I already own for PC, had a really good time with it but am not sure if it would worth another 60 bucks for one more version, probably not.

I guess I will keep saving my money so I can buy Forza Horizon 2, Halo Collection, Sunset Overdrive and Shadow of Mordor at the end of the year. And maybe even Destiny.

Can we get these threads every month, please?

Will definitely get Redux, maybe Garden Warfare. First Light depends on price and if I'm in the mood for it.

Wow, lots of good stuff. I had no idea Metro and Diablo were this month. I guess I'm getting a ton of games then....
The Last of Us
Diablo
First Light
Last Light (lol)
Swapper
Hohokum

I really wish we'd get a definite date for Minecraft. The lack of one this close makes me worried it'll get pushed back.

Diablo 3 is my only definite. Been waiting a loooong time for that one.

PvsZGW is pretty fun as I "rented" the X1 version from Gamestop. I didn't pull the trigger because I just don't see myself putting the time into it that it needs/deserves. It was fun, but not OMG I need this now fun.

Metro I'm interested in, but can see that hitting the bargain bin. With Destiny hitting early September, and then the big tidal wave of new titles it's not a priority for me.

The Swapper is one of the best horror games I've ever played and it's a puzzle game with zero jumpscares, enemies or game overs. Absolutely fantastic atmosphere and storytelling. There's some grim shit going on in that game. It's fun as a puzzle game too, but the whole package really makes it something special.

First Look day one.

Not sure if I should pull the trigger on the ps4 version or the One version of metro though.

Also, Gaf reasoning of owning Diablo 3 on consoles? Any benefits in co-op? Haven't played Reaper of Souls yet but invested a quite of deal in Diablo 3 on PC. Should i get the PC expansion or start anew on the PS4 version?

inFamous: First Light is a sure buy, Hohokum depending on price, and I'll wait for reviews and user experiences on Jet Car Stunts.

EDIT:

I love horror, but I hate platformers. No game overs might compensate for the latter though. I'll have to wait and see how it's received.

If you haven't played Metro 2033 and Metro LastLight on powerful PC - You should do it now on PS4! They have fixed stealth and upgraded graphics in original Metro 2033 also.

So is this a better version of Diablo 3 to get? I tried the demo on PC recently but I heard the online is dead, but I got that Diablo hunger a few days ago and really want to finally play Diablo 3. Since the PC version is still like 80$ for D3 and expansion I was just thinking of preordering the PS4 version instead. Has someone played both console and PV version can tell me which version would be the best for a new D3 player to get into?

Also The Swapper is great and everyone should buy it. Also wasn't Rogue Legacy supposed to be coming out sometime in August?

I will most likely pick up Diablo III for couch co-op with my girl. Does anyone know if it'll have PvP available locally?

Amazed that nobody mentioned Rogue Legacy on here, either. That's in this month, too.

Diablo III, Metro Redux, The Swapper and Rogue Legacy (you forgot that one) will be played on PC. Though I'll get them on PS4 eventually when they drop in price.

OP did not mess up! Rogue Legacy is end of July, not August.

The Swapper, Hohokum, Metro Redux, and First Light for me.

Seen lots about The Swapper since its release on PC and can't wait to play it.

Hohokum has been on my Day 0 buy list since its announcement.

Haven't played any of the Metro games yet and between TLoU and Destiny, I can't get enough skulking around fallen industrial zones apparently. Works for me.

I'm really interested in how First Light pans out, especially since it's Neon-based (power wise) and Fetch can't absorb powers like Delsin.

wish there was a little more footage from metro redux, I want to know how the game is shaping up. i havent played 2033 or last light but i heard there were severe ai problems and I want to know they were fixed before a purchase

That's exactly what I was thinking and came to post. It's super weird that at this point doesn't seem to be treated like a high profile release.

The Swapper is an amazing game, one of the very best from last year. Highly recommend it to anyone who didn't play it already, it really is terrific.

I still can't believe Diablo is coming out that close to Destiny. I mean seriously, WTF were they thinking? Diablo should have been out on PS4 months ago.

I love horror, but I hate platformers. No game overs might compensate for the latter though. I'll have to wait and see how it's received.

I'd hardly call it a platformer. With a few rare exceptions in the hardest puzzles there's very little platforming reactions. It's more like you walk here, place a clone, jump casually. Time slows while placing a clone, so you don't really need the fastest reflexes either. It's like 80% puzzle 20% walking and jumping.
