Correct mate, but they totally jeopardize Scorpio's tag line with that, which I asume was supposed to be "most powerful in the world / ever". Now that Sony played that fiddle it's kinda burned for MS. Just imagine Hillary trying to promote her candidacy with "Yes, we can, too!". MS has to come up with something else now. Classic mean Sony move.
true man but the thing is, when scorpio is on the horizon, shouldn't mS technically have the right to use it as well? as like a matter-of-fact type of thing seeing as how the scorpio will be greatly more powerful than the pro and therefore the true most powerful console in the worldCorrect mate, but they totally jeopardize Scorpio's tag line with that, which I asume was supposed to be "most powerful in the world / ever". Now that Sony played that fiddle it's kinda burned for MS. Just imagine Hillary trying to promote her candidacy with "Yes, we can, too!". MS has to come up with something else now. sony's been calling Ps4 "the world's most powerful console". found a source here from last year but I feel like they've been doing it since 2013.And what's with the other three years we had now with PS4?![]()
lol no way they didn't do that "The Worlds Most Powefull Console" just because, seems like they are poking fun at "best selling console in America"
It's made in the U.K. though so it has nothing to do with that. If they wanted to they could have said UKs best selling console.
I think the line will still work for MS. The problem for Ms is that the pro makes that leap to a 4k friendly image output. The Scorpio will supposedly do that better with real native 4k but as of now it seems like the difference will be extremely hard to demonstrate.
I still don't know if I am going to upgrade to this or not. I keep going back and forth.

actual 80's commercials for video games....yeah, this sony spoof is nothing like them at all *rolls eyes*
world's most powerful console, only for a year.
not a joke post. if a console uses a superlative like that, it usually lasts several years. not one.Nothing ever keeps the "most powerful" moniker eternally... joke post?.
not a joke post. if a console uses a superlative like that, it usually lasts several years. not one.
I ain't making no standards. Consoles have always lasted for at least 3 years before having a successor on the market. When was a console ever replaced in a year?so you are making your own standard on what that means. lol its true regardless of a year or more.
Then whenever scorpio comes out they drop the price and now they can push value and power. lol christ man scorpio is the second coming of the console christ to people to be this evangelical over wording lol.
PS1 was the most powerful console until N64not consoles.
Agreed! Even their own website fails to justify the existence of the PS4 Pro outside of 4K support. You could replace the PS4 Pro with the PS4 Slim in this ad and the impact would be exactly the same.
I know that the PS4 Pro is designed for gaming enthusiasts, but that doesn't mean I should need to scour the internet for information on what it can do. I can only imagine how hard it will be for Gamestop and Best Buy employees to try to explain what this does besides 4K.
those consoles were all a part of the same generation, as the scorpio is supposed to be with the pro. and if sony boasted the same thing back then, I would've made the same comment back then, too.PS1 was the most powerful console until N64
PS2 was the most powerful console until Xbox
There was a year or 2 difference between launch.
I ain't making no standards. Consoles have always lasted for at least 3 years before having a successor on the market. When was a console ever replaced in a year?
PS4 Pro and Scorpio are part of the same generation. And yes they did boast about being the most powerful console.those consoles were all a part of the same generation, as the scorpio is supposed to be with the pro. and if sony boasted the same thing back then, I would've made the same comment back then, too.
it's not really an issue but "most powerful PlayStation" is such a fluff statement though. playstation doesn't compete with playstation. it's always the latest playstation, in this case four, versus xbox and nintendo. It's really not an issue. When Scorpio comes out, "most powerful console" becomes "most powerful PlayStation" and not much changes.
I know that, I said that...PS4 Pro and Scorpio are part of the same generation.
then I would've said the same thing back then. And yes they did boast about being the most powerful console.
And it would have been no shit? That's how technology works.it's not really an issue but "most powerful PlayStation" is such a fluff statement though. playstation doesn't compete with playstation. it's always the latest playstation, in this case four, versus xbox and nintendo.

what? what part of my post are you responding to here? And it would have been no shit? That's how technology works.
This partwhat? what part of my post are you responding to here?
No shit, thats how its almost always been. The consoles usually launched a year or 2 after each other. And the console that launches last get to retain the title of the most powerful sometimes.world's most powerful console, only for a year.
Come on, that wasn't even the same post. You could see how I got confused. This part
I don't recall seeing that slogan with the Ps3 or 360 last gen, but in any case it doesn't change what I think of it. A console in any given generation is supposed to last for several years. If it is outmatched within a year, then calling it the most powerful doesn't have much meaning. No shit, thats how its almost always been. The consoles usually launched a year or 2 after each other. consoles having a successor within a year like phones and tablets? i'm pretty sure that never happens with consoles outside of redesigns and stuff like that. and even redesigns and repackaging that only happens once every few years. as raw hardware goes, I don't think anything's annual with consolesweren't you trying to argue that this never happens with consoles?

Ending weeks of speculation about which upcoming video game platform will give gamers the most bang for their buck, today at the German Games Convention, Microsoft Corp. revealed that consumers can get their hands on Xbox 360 the most powerful and feature-packed next-generation video game and entertainment system
world's most powerful console, only for a year.
4 years is good, yeah. but doing it for one year makes me do the thing with the eyebrows.well, PS4 has been most powerful console for last 3 years, and it will be for at least one more... so 4 years. Not bad.
no, scorpio ain't a playstation, but it's a video game console. and it will be the most powerful video game console in the world.i don't even know what we are talking about here now...the scorpio isn't a playstation.
well when you're right, you're right. it's still super short and i still don't agree with it, but maybe it will end up being effective marketing.
hey, a year is typically only 25% of a console generation, ain't it?a year is so short, too!
xD
you guys are really thinking too hard about this most powerful console thing
4 years is good, yeah. but doing it for one year makes me do the thing with the eyebrows.
Some people take this far far to seriously....
i just said what i said, and people wanted to talk to me about it. what's the big deal?you guys are really thinking too hard about this most powerful console thing
no man, i did not realize that...lol... you do realize that Xbox S is marketed as most powerful console with most games and exclusives (.................that comes with 4K BD player................)?
i just said what i said, and people wanted to talk to me about it. what's the big deal?
no man, i did not realize that...
does the xbone s enhance the graphics at all of the games?
5/10And just like my laser disc player from 1989, this also lacks 4K support.
9/1080's commercial makes sense, there were no 4K Blu-Ray players back then.
i just said that i didn't even know they were marketing the xbone s like that as well if it's untrue, then yeah of course i feel the same way about it, that makes it worse actually. but the question about graphics was just one of curiosity, it wasn't on topic.Fun ad. People thinking Sony needs to make any effort to sell PS4 Pro. Its right there in the name: its the PS4 with more power and that is the only thing people need to know. They don't need to know if it renders 4K or not, if it has HDR and all that, it is simply the world's most powerful console. That's all they need.
And just like my laser disc player from 1989, this also lacks 4K support.

To be fair lots of people including myself have replied to his comment so its easy to think you were referring to him.Who said i was referring to you? Complex?
