PLAYSTATION 4 | Satisfaction Thread: Greatness Awaits

I still don't understand this one. We've seen barely any games for either system so far and because MS showed like 4 more exclusives than PS4 then that means they got the jump on the PS4 for the next 7 years?

But at the sony reveal they talked about having more games and more exclusives and being open to helping developers but at e3 m$ had all the good exclusives and best looking indie game. Maybe last guardian will be a launch title though, and gran tourismo 6 won't be delayed 4 years, oh and socom and twisted metal will come back to their former glory, wait no id rather just have hd remakes of every old game because I don't need new games but rather just old ones that look prettier. I hope online works at launch and hackers don't shut it down again.

I miss MLB The Show, GOW, and Gran Turismo. I hope there's some value compilations of PS3 games so I can catch up on what I missed. I feel deprived for not experiencing Uncharted.

I expect it in 2 years especially if ND is making another Uncharted

What exclusives did MS snag exactly? Dead Rising 3? Titan Fall? Those games look like they're primed to come to PS4 later.

I really don't want to turn this into a console-war thing, but here are the 3rd party exclusives:

DR3
Ryse
TitanFall (console exclusive, will be on PC)
D4
Crimson Dragon (?)
Sunset Overdrive (?)

I don't know if those last two count, it's hard to tell what's 3rd party and what's first party.

I'm so in! Can't wait for launch. I haven't been this excited for new hardware since the Dreamcast. I'm jumping in with my whole body, GAF. Jumping into a console that seems it will never give me up and never let me down.

Were all those cool indie titles for launch?

Well we know that Don't Starve will be a launch title according to their PS+ branding (it will be available for free via PS+ at launch) the other 9 titles they featured were supposedly going to be available "Later this year".

I posted what I liked and disliked in the Xbox thread, so I'll do that here as well:

Likes:

+Policies (No brainer. Used games and no DRM.0
+Hardware (better hardware, great desgin)
+Controller (Everything I've been hearing about this controller has been good. I've even heard someone I trust say they liked it even more than the X1's controller.)
+Price (Really nailed it here.)

Dislikes:

-Not enough exclusives for me yet
-Not sure about PS+ (but I'm hopeful, because they're gong to be charging for multiplater for better infrastructure; I payed for that on the 360 with Gold, and I'll gladly pay for i here if it's stabler and has faster downloads)
-Noise and Heat (I think Sony made a comment about it being quiet, but it's just hard to see how it's a quiet and cool device ((please no RROD again)) being so damn amazingly small; I will gladly put my worries to rest if they make it quiet and cool though!)

So right now I'm on the fence. I like the X1's games more, but I like the PS4's policies and price a whole hell of a lot more. Right now, if I had to pick one I'd go with the PS4. With that said, I'm leaning towards just staying with my PS360 until 2014. All of the major third party games seem to be getting PS360 releases this and very early next year, so I'll be able to play MGSV as soon as it comes out. I'll definitely double dip though for games with 60FPS and whatnot.

If they have even more games at TGS and Gamescom though, if they have that one game that catches my imagination and interest, then I'm on board for sure, no questions asked.

To be honest, Killzone is my only day 1 lock. No Infamous at launch makes me a sad panda and Knack and Driveclub both seemed a bit rough at E3. Hopefully those two shape up.

I wish Infamous was a launch game too, getting that day 1 whenever it comes. Hopefully we'll at least get a release date in the next few months.

yeah the design is like a futuristic PS2 Slim, pretty cool.

I just wish they give it a colored PS logo.

Ehhhh....

One of the reasons I've never picked up a PS3 is because both Infamous and Uncharted look sooooo dull. I mean, I get why people dig Uncharted... but I never got why people lose their crap over Infamous.

At the very least we can almost 100% expect next-gen ND fall 2014, just like the original Uncharted was the year after PS3 launch.

Which is exciting and a great proposition, but it just seems like I might as well wait until 2014 then for a new console. The other biggest game of the show for me was The Order 1886, and it seems like another 2014 game at the earliest. The closest exclusive that is really making me want the PS4 though is The Witness, and I think they said "launch window" at the earliest, which I'm guessing is early 2014.

As far as multiplats, The Division and Thief seems to be the only two next-gen exclusive games that I feel are must haves, and I think Thief is early 2014, so I can wait until then.

I really, really love gaming. I follow it and love talking about it, but there just doesn't seem to be any reason for me to buy a next-gen console at launch, because neither of them feel like they're giving me the full package. Maybe that will change though as we get closer to launch.

Yea I was supporting your idea of buying it in 2014, especially in the fall there will probably be bundles as well. I was thinking of doing this too but my brother wants it now and were going in on it together.

Not likely going to pick up a PS4 at launch because I'm not seeing any exclusives that I like but I'm looking forward to what they have coming later, it's going to be a beastly machine.

A super hero game with great power, open world, and the first game story is ace. One would feel really powerful wrecking stuff. The stand alone Festival Of Blood is the best though. Those abilities.

Sorry, I misunderstood!

Yeah, I don't blame you. If you know for sure, and you have the money then I don't see why not. Especially if you can cut the cost down by buying one with somebody else.

I'll say one thing though, although there's nothing exclusive that I feel like I must have for it, it's going to have an amazing line-up of games with all those cross-gen games that will run at 60FPS and whatnot. So I don't think it'll be like the PS360, where they both had large gaps of time between launch and like the next Fall.

I'll probably check out Second Son (I think that's what it's called) but I think I just have an aversion to Open World games. Grand Theft Auto 4 killed them for me and I've never had joy playing one since then.

For me Infamous was not only the best superhero game for a good long while but also the best open world game. And I've tried all the best reviewed open world titles (GTA, RDR, Saints Row, Crackdown, Sleeping Dogs) this gen.

If anyone hasn't listened to the new Weekend Confirmed they are hyping the shit out of the DS4.

Will listen now.

Jeff Cannata was actually the person I mentioned in my post that I trust in the industry that said he liked the DS4 more than the X1's controller. That to me kind of took me aback and made me very excited for it.

EDIT: infamous is one of you games you just have to play. I agree it's not a whole lot of fun to watch, but once you play it you really like it.

So I'm trying to think of the first party games we know about. They said there will be 20 in the first year, right? Somebody feel free to add any if I got it wrong.

Killzone Shadow Fall
Knack
Driveclub
Infamous Second Son
The Order 1886

...Holy poop. We still have yet to know about 15 first party titles in the first year. Is that right? Am I remember this wrong? Surely I am.

I am ready. Besides the pay wall for multiplayer Sony said everything I wanted to hear. So now got my preorder from Amazon a launch edition it looks like which I wasn't expecting as I assumed those would of been gone in hours.(I ordered mine the morning after the conference) So I am good to go. All that is left is to figure out what games will be there at launch.

Managed to pre-order this a little while after the conference from Amazon. Not sure which game to get but I'm 99% sure it'll be Battlefield 4. That 60fps and 64 player matches are a dream come true from someone who doesn't play on PC. I can't wait :0

I pre-ordered on Amazon and i am expecting a launch edition on release day.

Have also put $25 down at a local best buy to pre-order as i am buying one for my younger brother.
