Playstation 4 upcoming games sizzle reel

Makes me really glad I got a Xbox One to accompany my PS4. It's just nothing but multiplatform games that I couldn't care less about, except Star Wars. My PS4 will see very little use until Uncharted 4
What do you have on XB1 these days? any exclusives?
Untill the end of the year it will pretty dry on XB1 as well, at least PS4 had BB, though Sony's holiday line up is indeed pretty weak.

I think you're missing the point, Sony may have a lot of exclusive games, but they aren't advertising them. Instead they concentrate on third-party games.

The only exclusives I've seen advertised by Sony this year have already been released, therefore a lot of gamers may miss these other games.

Do you want to play games or watch ads???

I have a major issue with the folks who dismiss every game because its not AAA dude bro western franchise number 9 million. I don't know where this selective imagination mindset came from, but its really annoying.

Think outside your usual box for once and you might enjoy some diversity of gameplay you've been missing

All these people complaining about how nothing in the sizzle reel interests them except maybe Battlefront are amusing. These ads aren't for us, GAF. It's to get the average person out there to go out and buy a PS4. A major Destiny expansion will get those people excited. Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed are still massive sellers. Star Wars is frickin' Star Wars. Of course Sony is going to advertise the hell out of these big name titles, they don't have an Uncharted or a God of War to go up against Halo and Forza this year.

There's plenty coming out this year anyways. I've got Metal Gear Solid V and Mad Max coming on September 1st. Battlefront in November. Considering I'll be in school full time, I'm sure those three will keep me occupied for a good while. I'm not too worried about having to wait until 2016 for Uncharted, TLG, Horizon, etc. There's too much to play in the next 18 months already, I'm cool with spreading things out.

"real exclusives" I'm not sure what your referring to. Is this the same as "real games"?

My point is that the PS4 has tons of games that have come out this year and have yet to come out this year, and many of them are only found on PS. So therefore Sony has games to play this year.
Real exclusives means a exclusive, and they don't belong under the same category as PS platform exclusive or console exclusive. You clearly wanted to show it has exclusives since you bolded them to show that. If you wanted to show it had games, then you wouldn't need them to bold - you could just throw the list down if your point was just really that.

What's this "real game"? They are fake games?

I was showing that there were tons of games to play, as well exclusives in many forms, where did i say i was NOT pointing out exclusives?

Also, i'm not sure what your definition of exclusive means, but exclusive is exclusive, which is what i was illustrating. If people want to compare to XB1 and Wii U, i bolded console exclusives. If people want to compare to PC, i added PS4 exclusives. Simple.

Exclusive means its not on any other platform, it's the only platform to play. Why is this exclusive extending to "Console exclusive" and "PS platforms". It even lists games that are on both PS Platforms and PC. So that doesn't even apply to those category.

Edit: whatever though, you can define it as you fit.

ITT a 30s teaser (of 4 tent pole multiplats with lead marketing for the quad which is aimed at shifting consoles to new users who will be looking for familiar brands) = 'all Sony's advertising'.

ITT you start doing TV ads 2 months+ prior to the launch of everything, no matter what your internal sales projections might be. Here's a hint - TV advertising spend is better deployed 7-14 days prior to launch as it means you can attain higher OTS (opportunity to see) and this higher mindshare in the period immediately prior to launch - which is exactly when you want people to be thinking about it.

This is even more important when you don't have a bottomless pit of cash to throw at everything.

Of more concern to me is the seeming failure of Sony's PR team to get coverage of games like Rapture & TTC - the latter especially isn't a game that lends itself to a 30s ad or banner.

Which is why I said exclusive instead, I was including both. Again, Sony are on top, they have less incentive to compete in that sense. Instead, they are spending more money on marketing deals and exclusive content, which is alright, but they've got Until Dawn coming soon. A three second spot in that ad couldn't have hurt right?

i don't know what you are on about. that ad is specifically for the casual audience that is interested in sports, cod, ac or star wars and they are showing off that ps4 is the best place to play them with exclusive content. this is gonna on every channel and youtube most likely.

games like until dawn will get their own separate ads around the time of their respective launches. bloodborne got it, the order got it, uncharted is sure to get it so until dawn or no mans sky are not gonna be an exception. this gen sony is doing great with marketing.

This obsession with exclusives is grating. Exclusive 1st party games haven't been relevant in sales for about a decade, give or take the odd gem like Last of Us.
Halo 4's slide down the Xbox live chart shows how much of a waste it is and the money + hype behind that was insane. Yet COD and BF double teamed it into the dirt.

LMAO wow, I haven't seen this one before

Where's Persona 5?
Where's No ManÂ’s Sky?
Where's The Last Guardian?
Hell, where's Uncharted 4?

Are they saying PS4 doesn't have exclusives anymore?

Two of those aren't coming out this holiday (let alone this year), which is what this sizzle-real is focusing on. Heck, have they even gotten around to announcing release dates to any of those?

Yes, that is exactly what they are saying because those games do not exist. You have seen through their lies.

And you now understand the casual gaming market.

And wait, only two this holiday? Did Uncharted get delayed?

Either way, I bring up my post because the "sizzle reel" obviously wants to show those who don't have a PS4 yet reasons to get one. Why show games you can get on almost every platform and not mention any upcoming exclusives? That'd be like if Nintendo went through the last holiday season pimping out LEGO Batman 3 and Watch Dogs instead of Smash Bros. and Bayonetta.

The exclusives i'm looking at, Persona 5, DQ Heroes and Disgaea 5 probably won't even make a blip on the sales chart against titles like COD or Ass Creed.

Because world wide the most important platform for those 4 games is the PS4.

And what they want to achieve is that it becomes the most important platform in every individual country, as well.

But those four games will be the reason people buy a ps4 or Xbox or upgrade their PC for that matter. Those will be the 4 of the biggest games of the year and BF and COD will be the two best selling.

Maybe you haven't been paying attention but the ps4 is the best selling console this month and it did it by advertising the best selling game this month arkham night which is a non exclusive.

Also who cares what they advertise in this ad does it cause all the other exclusive games coming out to disappear? It's like the narrative went from ps4 has no exclusives to OK maybe they have some exclusives but they aren't advertising them.

Hang on so the only PS4 exclusive games coming out the rest of the year are GoW 3 and Uncharted Series?.......which are both HD remakes of old games? Everything else can be enjoyed on a PC, damn Sony you gone and fucked up there.

A fair few it would seem.....

Halo 5
RARE Replay
Below
Fable Legends
Gears of War
Forza 6
Tomb Raider

Craptastic list there, pretty sure Wii U has a better lineup of exclusives...

Well, it is probably a safe bet Star Fox Zero alone will be better than anything the other consoles can manage for the rest of the year, yes.

A fair few it would seem.....

Halo 5
RARE Replay (Remasters... well... ports anyway)
Below (Can be enjoyed on PC)
Fable Legends (Can be enjoyed on PC)
Gears of War (Can be enjoyed on PC, also remaster)
Forza 6
Tomb Raider (Can be enjoyed on PC next year)

Damn Lettuce, you gone and fucked up there.

I like how you talk rubbish (non-facts) about th PS4 and how they have no games.

But then someone says the Xbox One currently doesn't have much and you look up a LIST for upcoming games.

Those contrasting behaviors obviously doesn't mean you're a disingenuous poster and are just interested in the truth. :-P

Just imagine...a special edition custom stormtrooper bundle 1tb for $399.

I'm waiting until next year to pick up a ps4, but I think I would have to buy one this holiday if my dream comes true.

Where is MGSV? Am I really supposed to believe Destiny DLC is more popular than MGSV? Where is Persona 5? Where is No Man's Sky? Why show games for one type of gamer (let's face it, the dudebro) when Playstation should be for every type of gamer? Frustrating promo. If I had only this to go by, PS4 would've seem awfully weak this Fall.

That's a great advert to grab the attention of the normals, although I can't say I'm bothered in the slightest by anything there.

Really though, there's so much coming out on the PS4 this year it's not really necessary to show the more niche games. It'd take bloody ages and the enthusiast audience that would care about them is going to either already know they exist, or at least visit websites that will tell them about them anyway.

I'd have loved a similar advert with No Man's Sky, Tomorrow Children, Tearaway and Persona 5 too mind.

The shroud of the dudebro has fallen. Begun, the list wars has ( <--- not my greatest work)

There is a surprising amount of discussion here for a sizzle reel the length of a baby's finger. There are a lot of games that could've made it in there, but unless you wanted each one to take up only a frame or two, that is never going to happen. Naturally, the games with the most broad appeal get spots because that has shown to have worked for Sony.

After reading some of the responses here you might think games can't exist because they didn't make the cut of a 30 second sizzle reel.

I'd have loved a similar advert with No Man's Sky, Tomorrow Children, Tearaway and Persona 5 too mind.

It wouldn't make it into the marketing budget, but it'd be neat regardless.

Haven't wanted to play COD for years.
I've sold Destiny.

I like the idea of the AssCreed London setting. Sadly I expect the game will be the same cut and paste Ubi gameplay in a London skin.

I'll probably get Battlefront. I want a multiplayer shooter. Planetside has been scratching than itch. It has good gameplay but sadly they aren't doing anything useful to address the massive imbalance in numbers faced by Vanu on Ceres and my character is level 23 and I can't be arsed to start again.
So, yeah, I'll try Battlefront.

Damn Lettuce, you gone and fucked up there.

Not really, none of these are on the PS4, he was referring to games being dry on the XB1....I just included games that can be enjoyed on the XB1 and NOT PS4 for the rest of 2015.

The picture is that PS4 has approx 2 console exclusive game for the remainder of 2015 where as the XB1 has approx 7.

But the best game of all for the rest of the year won't be available on any of the 3 big systems.......Mario Maker

Yeah. Only Battlefront has my attention out of the four in the advert but there are so many other games coming that are interesting, quirky and/or ambitious that I'll still end up buying more games than I can realistically have time to play.

And then there's Fallout 4 too. . .

People only buy their console for first party games it seems.

Sizzle reel was bad btw, but there's still enough to play if you like certain genres.

And wow that first post was shit.

I don't do list wars, but any release schedule can tell you that there are many more games releasing on PS4 that aren't on XB1 in the same time frame though, so you'd still be incorrect even with this added caveat..

Yeah what the hell?
I'm gonna buy a PS4 because I desperately need a PC upgrade for the latest games but can't afford an upgrade decent enough to justify it, and having at least 6 years of confidence I can play the latest games without any problems is a pretty good deal for 400€.
Even so, out of the PS4 and Xbox One exclusives, I have absolutely no interest in Xbox One exclusives while the PS4 exclusives have me craving, especially all the upcoming ones (Ratchet & Clank, The Last Guardian). And if we're taking PS4 exclusives that are also available on PC into account... Shenmue 3. Get rekt Xbone! I'm just kidding. The Xbox One has some great games, but personally, I'm not interested.

you should check your numbers. ps4 has way more than 2 console exclusives coming this year. it might not be on you list cause you dont like them, but thats not a reason to dismiss them.

We list wars now? We list wars.

More like selective cherry picking wars™

Guess Sony is starting early with the big 4. Holidays are packed with big third party games. Fallout 4, Star Wars, COD, A-Creed, Rainbow Six - duke it boys, duke it out.

It will be funny when for the next 5 years people keep complaining about the PS4 lineup for the holiday while being the leader of this gen, cause I think Sony found the perfect balance for releasing games i.e. Focus on releasing their games in Q1-Q3 and leave the holidays for 3rd party big games

Destiny...couldnt care less. I mean really I just can't describe I forget this thing even exists until someone on here brings it up.

Assassins Creed Insert Random Edge Name Here. Again I just dont care.

COD... " "

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH, Star Wars Battlefront.

In my fucking veins!

Maybe they find that this is a great balance between internal and external games and the allocation of marketing funds over the year.

But this year the original plan was still to have Uncharted 4 out and the delays for The Order and Driveclub were also not planned or they wouldn't have been delays.

The publishers are probably happy about this arrangement because of all the marketing budget that SCEA, SCEE and SCEJA can now offer their titles.

Don't own a PS4, but hopefully all the people who seem to clamour for exclusives will put money where their mouth is and purchase Tearaway Unfolded and The Tomorrow Children, because I'm personally loving the look of those games and loved Tearaway on PS Vita, so hopefully the expanded PS4 adaptation; 1.5 sequel will find commercial success on PS4 as well.

Yeah am sure Sony will still have some 1st party games for the holidays like GT7 but they always released big games in Q1-Q3 even with no delays like TLoU, GOW A, Bloodborne etc
