I have a very nice setup at home and I went. It was fun being around others that enjoy games that much even still have friends from that day and we play online its fun.Have any GAFers here that normally prefer watching keynotes from the comfort of their own home, been to one of these E3 streams in theaters before? Would you do it again?
I probably would only want to go in person just to see what kind of downloadable stuff they pass out-- don't really need more physical things cluttering up the flat. The SF one is also two blocks from my place so it's mighty tempting.
Down for the Toronto show! GAF we doing a meet-up before?
Yes last year at sunset place was amazing!! Everyone went nuts during the three announcements, there's even a recording on YouTube of the sunset theater where I come out in the background.I was waiting for them to announce this! I always go to the AMC at The Shoppes at Sunset Place location here in Miami.
My friend went to one last year and he said it was one of the worst circle jerks of rabid fanboys he has ever seen. Anytime anything was shown, he heard people yell "FUCK XBOX", "GET FUCKED XBOX". Shit like that

Uh, wow. That's disappointing for the crowd there. The one in NH last year was just a total blast. No one was talking about Xbox at all, and I don't know why they would. I guess people at that one had an axe to grind. That's a shame.
Can anyone remember how many tickets you can get per person? Is it only 1?
In the past it has been two.
It actually came to winnipeg this year! Will have to try and snag tickets
I went to the first one, and I won't go again. I am a pretty big nerd, but standing in line for that show was one of the most embarrassing things I've done to myself in a long, long time. I don't like being the center of attention, and the crowd of gaming "enthusiasts" was drawing a lot of attention. And not the good kind.

Edit: Not to mention all the cringeworthy audience reactions during the show...I would much rather watch from home.

Well Sony,
have fun in America while it lasts. We'll be here, sad and forgotten in the rain for the meantime, waiting until you stop ignoring us, when times are not as rosy and you need to rely on your true friends.

I envy you. Have fun!
Trying to decide if I want to go by myself here in Denver this year, or if I'm content just staying home. I hated that I missed GAFs reaction to the FF7 reveal last year.
I have a decent setup here, and a very comfortable layout for my gaming/watching, but I went last year. I'm definitely going again this year as long as I can get a ticket. It's just a lot of fun to watch it on the enormous screen and sound, with other folks around.

What's the alternative? Enlighten us.
Yeah that was pretty great. I would definitely miss that.
Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I might do it. I work on the opposite side of the city but can get out early enough that day to make it to the theater with a few hours to spare. I know there will be a line, I just am wondering how long it'll be. That's a shitty part of town to just be chillin in a line-- likely wrapped around the corner and down the needle infested alleyway that is Alice B Toklas St.
One theater in WI and it is Kenosha, really? Might as well call it IL at this point.
Used to live there years ago so I know where the theater is but not making the trip. Too long of a drive.

What? Screw people what's to be embarrassed about. I stood in line with a ps4 greatness awaits shirt while holding a pink 3ds(mine was dead took hers) battling other gamers in pokemon lol. Year of dreams indeed
Here you goOh wow, I had no idea. Do you happen to have a link to it? I wonder if I show up.
I'd be there.Well, the Conference start at 9PM EDT in the States, wouldn't it be like 2 or 3am in Euro? Do they kept theaters open that late? Guess is not that easy to book theaters at that schedule. I could be wrong...
Haha I just realized that is the theater I was at I came out in the background at 4:11
I was in the left side of that same theater. People loved it. It was a fantastic way to experience the reveal.
Thanks!
