Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

wow certainly didn't expect 2 discs+cases in the big gun set. Looks hella awesome. I went by the shops yesterday and we don't have it here yet. Saw vanquish which I didn't buy.

don't play the story mode of time crisis? it's stable and centered during the arcade version and i can't really fathom why anyone would play the fps thing anyway.

Do it right or don't do it at all.

But that's not the only problem I mentioned, the cursor isn't smooth when you aim with the move and it's not accurate to where you are pointing no matter how many times I tried to calibrate it, re-position myself and so on.

I don't like to complain but I'm disappointed and these are my impressions. Maybe it works better for others.

Okay, screw it, I'm going to cycle into town now and buy Move.

I already have the PSeye camera so I just need one wand, I can get more stuff later.
Other than Tumble, is anything else worth picking up? Sports Champion doesn't appeal (I would prefer to stick with Wii Sports Resort, which I love).

If you loved Wii Sports Resort, you'll love Sports Champions, trust me ;)

Okay, bought, buckled and bought Sports Champion, and the gun shell (which might suck).
Also downloaded demos for everything, and bought Tumble.

First impression, surprised by the amount of collaboration, I thought putting down the wiimote in Sports Resort was a bit much.

Living with camera shy housemates meant they freaked out at the collaboration screen. Plenty of people hate seeing themselves on screen when they're lounging.

My first couple of hours with the Move haven't been too happy. :(

Sports Champions didn't grab me, and even the design of having to play against another character somehow spoiled Frisbee Golf for me, and it was all a bit gloomy compared to Wii Sports Resort.

Kung Fu Rider is horrible, made my wrist hurt, which I've never had with the Wii. Very nearly bought this because I thought it might be fun like Tony Hawk Ride, but not being able to see when ducking makes it so hard to play.

The Shoot has made me doubt lightgun games on Move forever, which is a shame because before I was all set to buy (I even bought the shell!). Was Kotaku's Review a practical joke? I knew I shouldn't have trusted kotaku.

Tumble just finished DLing, but I have to go and work for a while. I'll try more games later and give Sport Champions another try.

Dock, have you tried table tennis in sports champions? If that doesn't grab you and give you an idea of what the move is capable of, then nothing will.

time crisis! once you figure out the calibration stuff, this game is so fun. the pirate one is especially dope. i got drunk last night with some friends and we played it. so much cheesiness that its just so much more fun with friends ha.

Finally played this at the Sony store near me.

Frisbee golf - played one hole, decent enough.
Table tennis - I was awful. Employee killed me 18-0 before he put it on a new game. I think part of it was because my jacket was still on, but I couldn't control any shots.
Archery - I rock at this.

I can see how it's more accurate than Wii, but I don't think Sports Champions would convince me to get Move. MAG, on the other hand....

You're doing it wrong.

Also: The shoot not having 2 player from the start is stupid. I should not have to unlock different areas to play in 2 player, it should be there from the fucking start. Good game, but I'll be taking it back (rented) and trying out Time Crisis instead.

I played the Time Crisis demo. Game feels great.

But Move as a 2D pointer too, for me felt better than in Start the party (2D pointer games or menu) or in The Shoot. Why?

Because I noticed something: When calibrating for the game, if I did it with the arm resting in the sofa, shooting to the pointer just moving the Move controller just a centimeter or so to shoot the 2 spots, it worked perfectly for me, I was able to play perfectly just doing subtle movements, and the pointer mover so fast and accurate.

But if instead I pointed with my arm straight to the tv, holding it in the air when calibrating it and having some dozens of centimeters between these 2 spots then I would have to move it more to play, so the pointer felt more laggy, slow and with more inertia.

I'm so happy because it feels way better now as 2D pointer, and it's more comfortable to play with the arm resting in the sofa and not holding it in the air.

EDIT: I forgot Start the Party
Don't forget MAG, and that Heavy Rain also has a Move patch. Echocrome and Tumble demos also feel great.

Totally OT, but I got a PS3 a few days ago and I have a question.

Does this not have a feature similar to background downloads on the 360? Basically being able to turn off the system and keep the downloads going.

Picked up mine from Best Buy yesterday with a $95 RZ certificate [$99 package]. There were only two left and they were all sold out of $399 PS3 move bundle. One of the store employees told me they have trouble keeping them in stock. Didn't set it up yet though so impressions later.

Not exactly. You can't download stuff while the console is switched off.

It is possible, but with the console turned on. You are able to use the browser, view videos, play games (it depends, when they don't use PSN typically), while you have stuff downloading in the background.

If you turn off the console or log-out from PSN when downloading something, the downloads will resume automatically next time you turn on the console or log-in PSN.

You can also turn on the console and start downloading something through internet using a PSP.

Do what this man says. It doesn't matter if you are accurate, just aim from your comfortable position. I think these calibrations just want to get a feel of where the move controller is. So if you are not doing the same movements you are doing in calibration as you are in the game, it's gonna be outta whack. And if it's still fucked up, you got some light interference somewhere (either reflections or a light source).

When PS3 is off = no downloads
When PS3 is on = downloads in background while watching videos, playing, etc

When you are downloading something and you turn off the console, the state of the downloads is saved. Next time you switch on the PS3, they will resume.

If you are at work and want to switch on the PS3 you have switched off at home, you can do it through Internet. And also you can control remotely the PS3 from your PSP to navigate the XMB menu, and start to download something, pause it, or whatever.

They are both right. when you try to shut down with downloading going on, you will have an option to have it shut down after all downloads are done and installed. You check that box, turn the TV off, and leave it alone.

dude. just download something and fiddle with the ps3.

You're missing the top part.

You can go to the far left of the XMB, and "power down". It will give you an option to turn the system off after the downloads are finished.

Is it just me or in Resident Evil 5 Gold:

1) you can't look around while walking;

2) you have to change the camera with the analog stick and aim with the Move, instead of doing both with the same pointer.

I mean, come on. The game is unplayable with these two problems.

Actually, the game is considerably more playable because of those two "problems".

Being able to aim at the edges of the screen w/out it moving means I can move much faster and take out enemies with extreme precision.

Also, I think having any sort of camera control while in the move isn't an issue given the slow pace of the game. My opinion, of course :P

so if one were to look for a Move bundle right now (eyetoy+move+sport champion) whats the best deal out there right now? im in West Coast Los Angeles btw if there are any stores having deals.....

what about the $25 Discount for signing up for Sony(?) Credit card? is that deal still going on?

Amazon had the Move bundle for $94.99 the other day, but it appears to now be back up to $99.99.

So my brother in law just purchased 2 move controllers with Sports Champions.
After about 4 hours with the thing I have to say I am even more impressed than
I thought I would be. Gladiator, Frisbee, and Table Tennis were much more responsive
than I expected and were a blast to play. Even though all the games are still relatively gimmicky
I came away with the feeling that Move has some incredible potential that I hope gets realized.

Will do, thanks. I thought it would be released in late oct.

yeah I was looking forward to playing this Tuesday, Gamestop here in the states still has it as Oct, 26th..but you never know.

that is like the main Move game I'm looking forward to this year.

Tumble totally turned Move around for me! :) Been loving every second of Tumble, it's an amazing game with excellent production values. I sorta wish I'd gone with my instincts and got Tumble + Move controller, and nothing else. More than worth the £38 total, as I already had the camera. It shows how the Move can be better than the Wiimote with Motion Plus, and there's almost no calibration to worry about.

I still intend to give Sports Champions another try, starting with my favourite content from Wii Sports Resort was probably a bad idea.

If I'm doing it wrong with lightgun games on the Move, then I won't bother doing it again. Thanks for the tip.

Where is the Time Crisis demo that people are mentioning?
I don't see it on any of the online stores, so is it included on a disc?

Also, which games so far support the navigation controller, and which support two move remotes?

what the hell! so yesterday i went looking for a second move controller to play 2p time crisis. all the futureshops (including the online store), all the blockbusters, all the rogers videos, all the best buys, and all the walmarts have none in stock. how is this selling that much?

I've seen one Move controller in a store... which I bought immediately. I think they're undershipped.

What you're doing wrong is almost certainly using different motions to calibrate. If you only want to use your wrist to play, then only use your wrist to calibrate. If you want to use your entire arm and use it like a true 'light gun' game, then you have to calibrate with your entire arm.

Also, tip with the shoot, if the cursor get's wonky from you going off screen or any other bizarre movements (like the lasso movement) then you can simply hit the "circle" button to recenter the cursor.

What exactly do you mean when you say "undershipped"?
