Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Any Wii owners here pick up a move? I have a Wii/PS3/360 and honestly am kind of over motion gaming. Is it a substantial difference over the Wii? Obviously it seems more precise, but is it worth it if you've already played Wii Sports to death? I will say I will probably pick one up for pointer controls in FPS, but besides that nothing really has got me too excited.

wait...what? time crisis is out?! i thought it wasn't out until october?

I meant the demo, sorry.

Also, I can't get Beat Sketcher to get past the "make sure Move is 1.5m away" screen. I press circle, and nothing happens.

Racquet Sports was horrid

Kung Fu Rider was not my cup of tea. The dude's voice/personality are grating. Game should be 10$ tops PSN

EyePet is an interesting game. Would be great for younger children

Start The Party has potential. Had trouble with some of the bugs getting squashed. I probably need to calibrate better though.

Time Crisis Demo Fun, but my calibration was off. Only played for a few minutes.

echochrome II is fun, interesting use of the wand, light/shadows etc.

The Shoot is fun, takes me back to the old days at the arcades, playing old light gun games. Will probably purchase.

Flight Control is a blast, I loved it on iphone and ipad. Goes well with Move.

I still have Planet Minigolf, Tiger Woods 11, and the Sports Champion and MAG(is the patch out for this?) games to test out. So far, so good. Can't wait to see what they can do with this.

Yup. Played a TON of both Wii Sports games. Sports Champions feels very different from them. You feel much more connected to the action instead of just performing gestures that trigger actions.

But if there's nothing in the initial lineup that interests you, wait a few months for proper first party games to release like LBP2 and Killzone 3 and re-evaluate your interest then.

Protip: When playing Volleyball in SC, make sure when you thrust your arms into the air there isn't a glass candle light fitting above you, they tend to break when hit at a decent velocity :/

My plan to involve the other half more in my gaming via motion control isn't off to a good start.

I backhand punched my sleeping cat's butt by accident when doing the special move in gladiator duel. He is all hiding under the couch now :(

I really think Sony fucked up with Sports Champion, all Sony had to do is have better presentation (just look at Wii Sports) and online play. Also Volleyball and Bocce should have been replaced with Tennis, Golf, Boxing and Bowling. That would be a killer app that everyone would be excited for. Hopefully Sony or a third party release something similar to this in the future.

Damn I know I said it already but damn Gladiator Duel is the most fun I had in a long time. I knocked by water bottle clear across the room with a back hand diagonal slash. Looked at the controller saying please don't be broke and fuck whatever the bottle hit. I can't wait for The Fight: Lights Out. I put on sweats to play this game. My right shoulder is so sore, I'm going to walgreens to get some icy hot.

I wish I had bought a nav controller when I bought the bundle, some of the Sports Champions games seem like they would be a lot better with it. RE5G also would benefit greatly from using one, . If you want the full Move experience, buy the Nav controller.

i thought so too but i got used to it pretty quick, now i have no problems navigating

Wait. Why would any Sports Champions games need a NAV controller? What you need is a second Move, not a NAV.

some of you having calibration issues is having me worried now...I hope its just because of demo builds. Also is it better to download the demos from the store vs install from disc? Are they different builds? Anyways...4 more hours to go before I get to try it :)

Haven't had any issues with calibration so far on all the demos I've tried.

yes gladiator is amazing fun.

AMMAAZING

dont' know what haterade the reviewers are drinking when playing it.

When I whack away and then you get the superattack, and you

a) do the jump attack

b) super slashes...

LOLOLOL. You sorta go crazy acting it out. So good.

FANTASTIC!

oh is that it? i was under the impression that a move and nav was what you needed for archery/gladiators.

So I went out and got SC Bundle, another Move Motion Controller, a Charging Station, Eyepet and Kung Fu Rider (I know everyone thinks it's terrible)

SC:Beach Volleyball has got to be my fav atm. Sadly the game takes your photo when finishing a cup and now i have a volleyball in my crotch in my undies on facebook. (You can choose not to post it but I just rolled with it) Only thing I couldn't figure out was how to do a jumping serve but I'm sure with a bit more practice I'll get it.

Archery made my arms sore but it was really awesome. Having to go through all the motions you would normally when using a bow felt great and it really felt like i was aiming and shooting a bow.

Bocce was unexpectedly fun but I only played a few rounds of it. Haven't tried any other sports yet.

Kung Fu Rider:
There have been a TON of complaints about the controls for this game but I honestly could not understand. I went through the tutorials and picked it up pretty quickly. Unless you flail around like a wild man there shouldn't be too many hassles learning how to play and you can even adjust the sensitivity for the different actions in the options. I got it cause it is wacky and weird and totally ridiculous and I have fun with it. Probably over priced not nearly as horrid as most make it seem though.

EyePet:One gripe would be it randomly wants you using the wand and other times you can just use your hands but Sony wants you to strap lock the move to your wrist so it's just a pain to switch all the time. The augmented reality with the toys is pretty fantastic although I did notice it break away from my glowing orb a few times when getting stuck on things in the game. And my major gripe was I couldn't change my Profile pic once it's taken cause I accidentally hit the button and there is no way to change it so it was empty floor :lol Also the lighting in the room isn't that great apparently so my EyePet had trouble finding my wiggling fingers luckily you can substitute the Move orb for fingers :D

Newp. I don't think any new games besides the patched ones (Heavy Rain, RE5) even require the Nav so far.

2 Moves is what you want if you're buying some of the new games.

I think the main issue with Move, and the calibration, is that you need a big living room for it. It's near impossible to play properly in my room.

Man, yeah! Sony totally fucked up because Sports Champions isn't fun at all!

Online would be nice, but baby steps here. At least it has leaderboards.

I don't know what your obsession with wanting it to be Wii Sports is, though. I can appreciate that some of the events are actually different. I mean, they're all cousins anyway. Volleyball is tennis, bocce is bowling, disc golf is golf, and gladiator is (far superior) to boxing.

And Wii Sports' presentation is about as pedestrian as it gets. People ARE excited for Sports Champions and it IS one of the killer apps for the device. I just don't see what you're getting at.

Damn, Table Tennis is fun as shit.
Playing it with my cousin (who's pretty damn good at it in r/l) and we're both having a blast.

Jeezzz @ some of these characters though. Talk about borderline offensive.

I was playing Tumble and having trouble getting calibrated. You guys think you need a big room for this? I just have it set up in my bedroom atm which isnt very big.

I actually think SC's presentation is very very strong. The visuals are great. THe character design which everyone is trolling before when stills showed up, work great. Looks really strong for a title like this. I love it. Its pretty high quality stuff. The fact you get all that and then you have HD visuals...

RE5? YEs. Posted impressions of it in thread earlier too.

put in disc. Update to 1.01 update.

It works real good.

When the hell did Capcom pull Move support from the standard (non-fucking-gold) edition of RE5??? Jesus Christ, I bought all the DLC and they're screwing the loyal fans? Please tell me I'm wrong.

From what I've played so far, accelerometer stuff is better with move and you won't lose your position like with wii motion games. I hope EA makes Grand Slam Tennis, as that game would definitely be the superior version of the game.

On the negative side, my pointer fears were true. Wii motion+ pointer controls are objectively better. It's not even up for debate. The problem is mostly a lag issue. The shaking of the controller is also a problem because the pointer loses its position, but I don't think you'll be jerking the thing much in games with pointer controls, so that should be fairly minor.

But I'll make this bold statement right now and get it out of the way.. If you want a better fps gameplay experience - go for the Wii version of fps games. Unless you really are a graphics whore and don't mind playing the gimped version. If you want a better accelerometer experience - go for PS3 version.

I have a big room that I'm playing it in and I'm having a little issue. I think the problem is when I actually point it at the screen, it doesn't actually point at the screen. It's a little off. The only thing that worries me is for the Gun attachment down the road.

Like, I can't figure out how to make it so if I look straight down the Move controller it would be hitting the target.

Yeah that super slashing is bananas, I love the way "KAT" lures you into darkness when you fight her in her cave with the ambient light from the torch. I was like WTF happenned to her and out of know where I see her weapon light up in the darkness and she commence to whipping my ass. So I'm moving all around the room pardon the pun left, right and back to stay in the well lit areas to beat her.

But watching that weapon light up was beautiful, it look like Cole from infamous was about to strike.

I need to get me some Sports Champs.

Only problem is my room (where my PS3 is) is tiny. I sit literally 2 feet from my TV. Fine for some of the game, but for the Sports Champs demo i had to stand on my bed :lol

Still...Yeah i need Sports Champs. Damn my lack of a job

shitouttaluck. buy RE5gold. Its cheap enough anyhow.

Presentation is ok I guess(sports champions) its saving grace is custom music. Once you have a good playlist made and ready to play, I don't worry about anything else.

Just tried Start the party and I had a blast. I went on amazon and noticed its $40 :/

I would buy this in a heart beat for around $10-$15 but I doubt theres enough content there to pay 40 bucks for. It also seemed to calibrate a lot better than Tumble did.

As someone who had doubted MOVE in the past I am really enjoying it right now and I hope this gets a lot of support from Sony and more developers. I would really like to see this take off and at the same time not take anything away from the already hardcore games on PS3

I have to say that I'm surprised that SC didn't score higher in the reviews, probably it's because many people are spoiled by Wii Sports Resort.
But the phisics in SC is simply amazing, as is the accuracy of the controller. It's really fun too and it's a core sport game with motion controls.

Just came home from work, I was going to buy a few move controllers till I realized we sold out of them. All we had left was a navigation controller and one charging port. Didn't realize it would be this popular around here :/

Arg. Charging controller and installing all the demos off the demo disc is taking FOREVER.

Demo discs that require you to install everything = bitch move Sony. Bitch move.

Read this Sports Champion VS Wii Sports Resort article. What got me is this part

My only issue is the lag: there's definitely a millisecond delay between your hand and the on-screen representation with Move and Sports Champions. Disc Golf is great, but I do admit having to work with the lag by letting go of the button just a split-second before the natural release point in my swing. That's where the Wii controller excels: there doesn't feel like there's any delay in its one-to-one motion.

So is the Move more laggy than Motion Plus, or is this just with Sports Champion

Its like the Wii launch all over again :lol

Try not to break your stuff or your body, and be wary of Tiger Woods 11........I fucked up my shoulder after playinf 54 holes of that and swinging for the fences every time :lol
