OK, so I'm going to break down and buy the Playstation Eye clip so I can attach it to my TV, maybe.
My TV stand is quite high, probably at least 3 feet (I have very young children, so it's by design). And on top of that I have my Sony SXRD 50' unit which adds another 3 feet+ or so. Together, it's got to be at least 6' 2 inches, substantially higher than I am or anyone else in the house (wife, kids).
The problem with putting it at the bottom of the unit is that the base of my TV is solid, so the cable has to run in front of the TV, and I don't have much space in the front to have the cable not be kinked, which is making the PSeye not be looking straight forward.
So, is it a major no-no to have the PSEye on top of the TV that hight and aimed downwards in the center of the unit?
What's the best approach?
Don't think there is any problem having it up high in my case
here is My move review:
Setup:
Basement room, no natural light, 4 neon type recessed ceiling light bulbs, 1080p ceiling mounted Projector, 100 '' Wall screen Couch about 12 feet from the screen.
PS Eye camera mounted on top of the screen (about 6 inches from the ceiling 8'') about 12 feet of usb cable to the ps3 which is in the living room. Camera has no problem seeing the move controller downward trough the Projector light. Works well with full or dim ceiling lights.
Eye Lose the move controller if out of the eye range , no problem for the kids , I have to be careful with my movements(no arms above my head, anyway if obscure the projector view).
Eyepet is 10 times easier to play with the move controller than the original cardboard. My kids (girl 5 and boy 7)are playing it for the moment, I had to trick the system a bit because it want the camera much closer to the ground, I calibrated mid air instead of the ground but once calibrated works really fine.
Tumble Demo, no problem whatshowever playing sitting on my couch, move controller is very precise (1-1)
Can't wait to try RE5 which should work really well, will try a completely dark room for that one
Sport champions works fine as well if I excentrate my position a little bit or my arms go through the projector beam, kids are fine in the center of the room, that game needs a lot of space to play, I hope people playing in the living room are not too close to the screen, played Volleyball(really fun) and gladiators(so so) Ping pong great as well and bocce (very hard). The kids love the gladiator event.
Demos tried:
Start the party, my kids love it but I don't want to pay 40$ for this game
Time Crisis: works great not my type of game
will try the rest later
