Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Hey guys, is there any opinion as to whether the PlayStation Eye is better off above or below your TV?
I think the consensus is it's much better on top, with it aimed slightly downwards.. Unless you're playing Eyepet, then it should be on the bottom, since the Eyepet plays around on the floor.

Didn't get an answer before, and haven't seen any recent reports online:

How far away do you guys play from your TV? I have about 6 feet of space in front of mine, with a couch behind that. Is that enough?

Seems that calibration box is a good guide. If I stand too close and I hold my Move controllers downward, the camera can't see the ball anymore. Just use the calibration screen to make sure that the ball is visible to the camera at all times within the confines of your physical play space.

also it helps to put the Eye at wide angle setting (zoomed out)

This isn't a move title, but a PSEye game and damn it looks fun

It's strange, I bought the starter pack for move and I am also getting video chat and some cool PSeye games as well.
When is this game getting released? I see videos everywhere and people are hyped but I have no idea when its out (somewhere in the fall). It definitely seems like a super fun game for casuals and kids

Whoa! I've never seen Kung Fu Live before. That's amazing!

Yea it looks awesome. And really demonstrates that the PS move's setup is really the most versatile out there right now.

They can't fix it for games that use the orb, because the color of the orb is picked based on contrast. Allowing users to pick their own color could potentially break the way their hardware works (i.e. if you have Blue furniture and chose a blue orb, it could cause problems).

The color is picked intentionally to have stark contrast to the rest of your room.

If this is the case, then why is it consistantly purple/pink for everyone?

Also, when I play Tumble multiplayer, it changes to blue and red. If a contrast issue was there, then it wouldn't use different colors for players with the same controller, but instead just say "player 2 it's your turn".

Enough games are getting Move patches (Heavy Rain, MAG, etc) that the Nav makes sense to bundle for people like myself who already own the Eye. I genuinely think Sony would sell more Move units if they also offered the bundle I created. There are plenty of early adopters of the Eye who refuse to buy the Sports Champions combo because we don't need a second camera.

I heard the old eye camera ( the one that came with eye of judgement) has more lag lag than the new one due to using older technology or something. ... Anyone know if true?

I'd assume it's purple/pink for everyone because those colors are extremely rare in homes and contrast quite well with the typical earth tones you find in most homes.

I guess someone will have to do some more testing though

Almost positive this is false.

Does anyone else thing it might be worth it for Sony to re-issue some classics with Move support patched in? I'm talking the sorts of games that attempted to use the Sixaxis way back when and either didn't do very well or WOULD benefit from the improved motion support?

Heavenly Sword? LAIR? Warhawk? Folklore? Maybe the Ratchet and Clank games?

If it can be done easily enough, I say patch em, toss em up on retail as $19.99 Greatest Hits (or even just downloads on PSN), and give them basically a second chance at life.

Above, if you've got a projector setup or a high-mounted TV probably below, though.

Looks like one of my Moves is definitely busted...it drifts an insane amount compared to my other three controllers (I cant even keep it on the screen for more than five seconds). Gotta swap it for another one back at Gamestop I suppose.

Someone needs to buy pink poster board and place it behind the move during a calibration to see what color the wand defaults to.
while in RUSE mine turned blue while in MAG turned orange, ive seen it turn red during daytime

F***

the whole city in sydney cbd is sold out of move wands.

DICKSMITH has their bundles @ $99 and their wands @ $70

tempted to go buy another bundle @ $74-79

ridiculous.

Buy it and send me the disc!

The move bundle was sold out in NY in 3 stores I checked. Finally found it in Best Buy in Midtown but the freaking navi controllers were sold out... Its sixaxis for me until amazon fills my order now..

It seems to be selling well. Not completely sold out but its as good as most new popular games.

J&L in CTown told me they were getting more tomorrow so I guess SONY is filing retailers back up quite quickly.

That's a big negative. I have a launch PS Eye on my upstairs PS3 and a new Move bundle Eye on my downstairs PS3 and Sports Champions plays EXACTLY the same on both systems and cameras.

So: SC Table Tennis alone >>> Racket Sports is the consensus, right?

Having played the demo of Racket Sports it just felt like waggle controls. I was sitting down, just flicking my wrist, and as long as I was turned right or left (whichever way the ball was coming) I would hit it every time. No full motion required. SC on the other hand actually requires the motion. Which is the first game ever as far as I know of.

Having fun with Move so far... played through the first set of TT on Sports Champions and had a blast. Got to the second set without assists and was frustrated until I moved my coffee table out of the way; suddenly it became a new game. So much fun.

I really want to enjoy Tumble but my pointer seems a bit flaky? Not sure if this is intentional to up the difficulty but I mostly play at night, maybe I should try when my room is a bit more lit up from some natural light. My pointer seems to always move a little fraction on its own, no matter how still I hold my hand. But yet the menus in Sports Champions are very responsive, no problems there.

It will sure be exciting to see where things go from here...

that sounds fking awesome!

professional? Is it even playable?

What do you mean?

It is doable, it's just that if you're doing it the QTE way then every time you attempt to pull the amulet off of her you have to shake the Move controller like mad. You also have to do it about 10 times. I was sweating like crazy by the end :lol

In RE5 it tells me to aim at the camera and press Select to calibrate, but when I unpause, the reticule immediately drifts to the edge of the screen again. I tried moving the camera below the television and back up top, I tried standing and sitting, but nothing is working. AGH! I was looking forward to this all day too!

The pointer is a little odd, but it's really convenient to re-orient (just hit circle while pointing where you want it to center).

Anybody tried the RUSE demo?

For some reason it won't let me use Move. When I start the demo, it doesn't recognize any Move inputs, and it won't let change to Move controls in the settings. The options are just greyed out. This happens even when I start the demo with the Move controller from the XMB.

I think it's because I don't have a Navigation controller, and instead of letting me use the DS3 with my Move controller, it just defaults to DS3 controls since the DS3 is on. A simple oversight by the devs, I presume.

Anybody else have issues with this? =/

That might be it. I had no issue using move with it right off the bat in the demo.

mine works fine using the DS3 and Move only

Can someone explain how the fuck to use move with high velocity bowling? I installed the patch update from the store, started it up expecting an automatic update to take place since the "patch" from the store seems basically no more than a license key but none did. No move options, move doesn't light up or anything.

Is it just a matter of them being all out of wack with the store and having the patch on the store before the game update is actually ready?

While SCEE releases HVB Move patch for everyone, for free, SCEA makes it PS+ exclusive for 1 month....

Ugh.

The PS+ download is a key, the actual patch comes out tomorrow night after the maintenance.

Hm. Might I ask what steps you took in starting the demo?

My Move is clearly on and synced, and it's working on the XMB and in other games, yet Ruse seems to completely ignore it.

Ugh.

I do have +, but wouldn't anybody with a brain be able to patch theres for free from the EU store if they wanted to or is the game slightly different and the patch won't take?
