Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Nope, I have 140 on the first map and I am nowhere near top 10.

It is just the way they display the rankings :lol
It's done in percentages, so just means he's in the top 10% not the top 10 itself.

ah forgot to put the %. yeah top 10%.

anyhow, the music thing bugs me! I think the innane quality of the original track works for the game best.

I had some baiyon and shatter going and it ... just didn't work.

Having fun with Move so far... played through the first set of TT on Sports Champions and had a blast. Got to the second set without assists and was frustrated until I moved my coffee table out of the way; suddenly it became a new game. So much fun.

Haha, ironic. The one thing PREVENTING you from TABLE tennis success was a TABLE.

...heh. Still, awesome because I'm looking forward to picking up SC ASAP...JUST for table tennis.

Does anybody know how to use the Move with High Velocity Bowling? I have the updates and the patch from the PS Store which unlocks it. But I can't get it to work for the game, there is also no option for it anywhere.

Works fine to me. Actually works really well.

hmm i was thinking the Move patch is for tomorrow? the Move is an unlock afaik

Yeah, when you start it up, it'll automatically ask you to calibrate when it's showing the PSN TOS if you're using a Move.

It works great, but it maybe relies a little too much on the position of the ball. When I was first playing, I was stood over a glass coffee table, and it wouldn't register my swing at all, because it was catching the ball reflection during my forward swing. It knows where I started the swing, and it should easily tell from the gyros and accelerometers that I was swinging forward, but because for a brief second it sees another ball moving backwards, it just shit the bed.

Did anyone try the browser with move yet? (after the 3.50 update today)

If anyone did, may God have mercy on them. Pair the worst browser I've ever used with a decent mouse replacement, and you still have a responsive cursor in a terrible browser. (How bout adopting the Wii's Opera love? Or custom-building Firefox? I'd understand not opting for Chrome/Safari, for obvious reasons, but Opera/Fox are independent parties, here!)

The Move-specific patch is only in EU at the moment. Should be out in the US today, but you'll either have to have PSN+ or wait a month. :\

Or just put in a Webkit browser. Problem solved. :)

just starting RE5 gold edition (seems it picked up my re5 save game, jesus at least give me a new set of trophies for buying the fucking game again)....

was seated too close at first and it felt odd. i backed up and it feels better but I still feel a little clunky. i'm holding the move controller in close with my arm bent, anyone holding it differently? just the learning curve of the new controller maybe? only have about 15 minutes in...

Worst browser ever? :lol Somebody hasn't used a Symbian browser. The ps3 browser is perfectly serviceable for watching stuff off Youtube and simple stuff like that, but it could be so much better. It's sad that the rumors about Chrome integration haven't come true.

No its out now for PS Plus members. Its a 100lb file, which I take it is already in a patch, this just unlocks it. Its just not working for me.

Just wanted to share that Sports Champion debuted at No. 2 on the PAL/EU charts. :D

the patch isn't out until later today, they put the unlock key up first.

Are you definitely downloading the unlock thing from the same store you bought the game?

Also another option, but I don't see Sony doing much extra work considering how long they've let it sit as "acceptable". Which obviously makes the whole conversation useless, but my point is if anything, I'd be perfectly happy with Opera/Firefox, which are my primary 2 browsers anyway, lol...

Well that's definitely true--never used Symbian, that is. And while it's "serviceable", I'd hesitate to use the word "perfectly" in the same sentence. And that's fine with me because I simply don't use it. But it's disappointing that my Motorola Droid offers me a better browsing experience than my PS3 almost universally, despite the screen size, etc.

Anybody who can share an opinion about the move patch for hustle kings?

What do you want to know? I have to play a little more but I think it's pretty decent. I certainly prefer it over the old controls. You basically select your orientation on the ball with the Move first, and then you have control over your complete strike starting from near the ball, going back, and then forward. You can move the cue a little up/down while hitting too and push through your shot or pull back, etc. At any time you can twist your Move controller to chalk, which is nicer than shaking the DS3.

Only downside I could find so far is that videochat in online games is gone when you use the Move.

okay.. just played all the maps on FCHD and when you get to the ones at the end, I now fully get the whole praise thing for the game. Get really hectic, drawing lines everywhere. Pointing the thing. I used my K+D tunes - sort of a mellow drum/bass pop. A lot a lot of fun

AWESOME

I think it's great, but honestly I didn't play it all that much prior to Move. The angle that you hold your cue stick at is fully under your control. Not sure about spin, I think you still have to "place" the target off center on the cue ball to apply spin, but perhaps holding the stick at certain angles is enough to apply spin as well, I only played one game of 8-ball. Aiming is smooth as is fine tune aiming. The range of power is very good as well.

i spent all today looking for a place with this in stock ...no luck. wtf sony ...
I had to check around 8 stores in my local area just for a Move controller (I now have 2 yay). Everywhere is sold out of the lot, apart from charging statiions lol.

I think there should've been a way to use a second wand with Hustle Kings, much like Archery works in SC. It feels weird aiming with just one hand in pool, where the hand in front is usually the one that aims in real life pool.

Yes, I only have a Canadian account.

But I found this on the blog:

Free Game Add-on
High Velocity Bowling – Move Compatibility Add-On
High Velocity Bowling now offers PlayStation Move motion controller support! Bowl like the pros with a realistic bowling swing and movement.
This content addition provides PlayStation Move motion controller support. The add-on is dependent on a patch that will release by tomorrow evening.
File size: 100 KB

So its later today I presume.

Not sure I like it. You don't get the feeling you're holding a cue, as there is nothing to do with your left hand. Plus I couldn't get the hang of the power - I kept hitting the ball really gently, you have to follow through more, which actually feels a little too much.

You do seem to be able to use the move to adjust where you're hitting the cue ball, but i'm not sure yet if its actually doing anything or its just for effect.

I've noticed game is very sensible and unpredictable. Especially when you try to apply some spin. You have to be very delicate when twisting the Move and fast too as the time frame you are given is very short (you have to twist right before releasing the trigger). Being delicate and fast simultaneously ain't easy and also, no matter what, sometimes a spin in a given direction is either totally ignored or interpreted as a spin the the opposite direction. It gets on your nerves after a while. One second you think you "got it" and then shit happens and you go "uh? What did I do wrong now?".

Playing this game with the Dualshock 3 was really awkward but at least spinning was consistent as it used the triggers.

that's a shame that it doesn't seem too work well, but spin with the triggers was dumb and boring I thought. I love Wii Resort bowling, and Bocce in SC makes me think a bowling game could work great with Move as well.

Just makes me hope that SC isn't the end-all be-all of Move games. I really enjoyed Bocce, but I want MORE. And it seems like the SC devs are basically the only ones who have REALLY "gotten it" so far.

Zipper is close with MAG, but I haven't had enough time with it to say anything with certainty.

Can you curve a bowling ball IRL? I can't, and I just assumed that was the reason I couldn't put on more than just a little spin in HVB. :lol

Yep. I got it already. Should make a video shouldn't I?

As it should. Brunswick may well do much better. I also tried HVC and agree that applying the right spin is very difficult. Mind you I can still do it better here than in real life. But it takes a while to get used to. Honestly I expected worse based on initial reviews and it is definitely better in anything but the spin. But applying spin, yeah, it's a little weird.

Sure you can. You just twist your hand right before releasing the ball.

Move Controller SOLD OUT in shopto :(

Most undershipped Sony product ever? There can't be any other reason for this to be selling out everywhere. There was virtually no marketing or hype.

Or it is just selling more than they expected. As you said, they didn't do much to hype the launch, probably because they didn't think their big hitters are out yet.

Woah, I was going to say...not over here, but I just checked the Best Buys near my house and half of them are sold out of the Move bundles. A couple of days ago only one store was sold out. I guess word of mouth is starting to work. I only have the bundle for now, considering purchasing Start the Party, although it looks like a shallow game.

HVB also has individual character attributes, I assume that's present even post patch but I don't know.

jigglywiggly said:
No, I mean, can YOU. *point*

yeah I can. Not as much as in games, but I can.

Side note, Sports Champions' Bocce simulates spin much realistically and accurately than HVB.

IMO - Undershipped. They are playing the hard to find/word of mouth game right now. Building momentum for November when they'll ship a large amount with a marketing campaign in order to compete with Kinect.
