Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Just bought another Move controller... Jesus holy Christ, I've spent 265 dollars on barely ANYTHING. 2 move controllers, one navigation controller, one PS Eye and Sports Champions.

Sony are fucking thieves.

No Bundle? I've got everything you have minues the navcon, and I'm at $150 + tax.

Bundle where I live is $110 and doesn't include a single game.

That's unnecessary. That calibration process does only light balance. Pointer always appears at a pre-determined spot in the middle of the screen, no matter where you are pointing the Move.

Yes please. Very interested in this one. I'm on a phone now, does this have a EU release?

Yes. October. (Just talked to local Activision PR)

Europe, the bundle is the Move controller and the PS Eye. That's it.

Really ? You're doing it totally wrong.

I spent 60 euros for a move starter kit. 29 for the navigation wand. 20 for eyepet and 25 for RE5 Gold. For a total of 135 euros for a single move inc. 2 games.

Besides, you're using dollars so your math doesn't add up. 100 starter pack plus extra Move plus navigation wand should be like $ 170 plus taxes

Edit : You didn't spend anything in dollars then, but Euros ? Never calculate it to dollars, never adds up. HJow much did you spend in euros ?

60 starter kit
40 move wand
30 navigation wand
45 sports champions
-----
175 euros ?

Now that we've had it for over a week, what is the general concensus on the Nav Controller (or whatever it's called)? I don't have one, and haven't found a real need to have on yet, so I'm looking for people to justify the purchase.

The only thing I'd say is that it's easier to hold than a DS3, given it's weight.

That's about it.

Bundle + Navigation controller: 1048:- = 153 USD
Sports Champion: 499:- = 73 USD
Second Move controller: 499 = 73 USD

Total: 299 USD = 222 Euro

totally beats the unnatural feeling of using a Dual-Shock and a Move-wand for Resident Evil 5 Gold. Had to do that for a day, immediately made me go out and buy a Nav-wand.

Only useful for RE5 / Heavy Rain I guess, if you have one of those games it should be worth it. Not sure about Sports Champs, as I do not own that game and haven't tried the demo.

Damn, you're doing it worse than wrong :D Where is this and why did you not use Zavvi or some other Etailer which would have saved you half of that amount.

Where in Europe? EDIT: oh, in Scandinavia ... your own fault then. Very easy to get ripped off there, especially with everything that nordisk film touches.

You should have simply joined the euro, that would have helped tremendously. ;)

nav con is useless in Sports Champion
Thanks for pointing that out, I had no clue...

Uh... what?

Controller doesn't go down in price, might as well buy it now and be prepared for the real games in the future.

no. you are stupid.

you willingly gave the store your money for all that.

no one held a gun to your head. you went back and bought MORE stuff.

buy tumble, it's cheap and it'll make you feel better.

I have one and i think it's overpriced but great. If you plan on using move to play shooters i would recommend it.

You couldn't import it from Sweden? Or even Germany or the UK then? With those prices in Norway, I'm surprised that there isn't a booming import scene.

I felt I had a gun pointed at my head and that's what Sony wants. By pretty much telling us the best experience will be on the Move, I feel that I must buy all the accessories that are needed. Not buying Tumble.

:lol

well I'm having the best experience with table tennis so it's all worth it.

I would like to know when Sony said the best experience will be on the Move and how they wanted to point a gun to your head. You're getting pretty ridiculous...another attempt at trolling failed...

Ok, but that experience can be had for less than 100 euros ... :D

But yeah, it's awesome kit regardless. I may feel the same once I buy that third Move controller because their bluetooth seems to be much stronger - if I want to hook one up to my PS3 in my study, I have to have the Slim in the livingroom off the powergrid or else it will just turn that one on and not sync with the Fat in my study ... :lol .

Doing it in the worst possible way. Cannot take you serious ever again........

I really wish there were a mode in Tumble that let you grab a baseball bat and let you bash your towers to bits :lol

:lol

Tower challenges are awesome btw. Took me some time to figure out it was not just about blowing stuff. You really need to look for the weak spots. Also, I didn't realize until later in the game that mines don't detonate simultaneously, but in sequence. Meaning the order in which you place them does matter too.

BTW, "Simplicity" challenge made me feel like a brainless slug.

Finally my single Move controller is getting shipped from Amazon.de. I ordered the damn thing 3 weeks ago. And now it says it will arrive ~14th October by Royal Mail? WTF?

I'm eagerly anticipating its arrival so I can try out Sports Champions, The Shoot, buy Tumble and finally start playing Heavy Rain.

Sony really failed with the production numbers of the Move controller.

So, with tumble and SC already out of the way, is planet minigolf worth it? or any of the PSEye games on the store? Creature Feature and Trials of Topoq are only 5 each. Didn't lemmings also support the eye or that was a ps2 game?

They did ? I can literally walk into any store here in Holland and find plenty of Move controllers and games.

I went into several stores (Switzerland) two or three days after release and one week later, there wasn't one single controller on the shelves, but plenty starter packs. Amazon.de was sold out since god knows when, same applies to many online shops here.

Planet Minigolf is actually quite good with Move. Don't expect mindblowing implementation, 1:1 tracking and stuff like that. It's just sensors based like a Wii game, but that's enough for this kind of game.

Of all the PSEye crap released thus far, Trials is the only one worth a look. Avoid everything else (unless it's called Eye of Judgment)

:lol Yeah, sometimes i like to just throw the bricks around... you should try it, it's very therapeutic

Strange. Maybe the Dutch just aren't buying:D

Wow, you completed SC everything on the Champions Cup? Amazing. Well done.

Planet Minigolf seems rather simplistic, though it has course creation and sharing. The controls are certainly better than the DS3, but otherwise it's not very exciting. You may want to try the demo.

Creature Feature is the only decent PS Eye game. Trails is too fiddly. And yes Lemmings EyeToy was PS2.

Maybe get Hustle Kings - I really enjoy that.

Amazon.de had some of the lowest prices anywhere (56,49 euro for the bundle, single Move controller was cheaper too) so they sold a tonne in pre-order and must have had trouble filling up. In the end mediamarkt only cost 2 euro more, so it didn't matter much.

Very much so. I just grab a metal piece and whack the whole thing around.

On the EU playstation blog, there is a blog about Lord Of The Rings: Aragorn’s Quest .

There is a trailer and some PR text...

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/09/27/lord-of-the-rings-aragorns-quest-trailer/#comments

people comment on the graphics and the Move implementation.. and then Alex Friend answers..

Hi Guys. Appreciate the comments and can understand your points. The game actually has levels of ability for the sword play, a little like a learning curve. The is for a young audience so what we have done is made the game play easy to execute but hard to master. Think Virtua Tennis.
You can go through the game throwing the Move is all directions, as younger kids do, but you are rewarded for combination and timed moves which give you more accuracy and reward in the game.
In terms of look and feel, I can see how you might think graphically this is sub par, but it was an art direction choice rather than anything else. It really is a pretty game. I’d compare it to CGI movies, which are amazing, but don’t get to the level of an actual movie, if you see what I mean!

Thanks
Alex

Indeed! My most anticipated Move title this year. :D

Looks good. I'm still on the fence for PS3 or Wii version.

what..? looks good..? When I saw that footage I thought it was for the PS2. Really.. this game is really not HD-worthy..

£45 for move controller and PS eye
£30 for another Move controller
£25 for sports champions
£12 Res evil 5 gold

£112 = $177/131 Euros

Your doing it wrong

Meh. It looks nice to me. I'll take up-res graphics even if it's lower poly. The art style is right up my alley anyway. I'm more curious about the gameplay though - if there's any more precision/fidelity/whatever in the Move version.

I do that and it's still off. No matter what distance I sit from the TV, no matter where the Eye is positioned, it is still off unless I constantly reposition it like TTP said (which is annoying). It shouldn't need non-stop re-calibration.
