Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

I do that and it's still off. No matter what distance I sit from the TV, no matter where the Eye is positioned, it is still off unless I constantly reposition it like TTP said (which is annoying). It shouldn't need non-stop re-calibration.
Go to system settings and calibrate the magnetometer.

My brother ordered two Move bundles from Amazon.co.uk on September 20. They shipped the next day (Royal Mail) for a Sep 23 delivery. It still hasn't arrived. :-/

Did something like this happen to anyone else? He's coming back to Brazil next Thursday so time's literally running out.

Hmm, I had something similar happen to my PS3 Move TV Clip for the camera that I ordered from Amazon.

I ordered 'one-day shipping' for that item for $9.99 (a $12.99 item :lol) and they shipped it on the 18th. I didn't get it until the 22nd! 4 days of shipping time for what was supposed to be one day. Something got messed up.

Not sure what shipping speed you chose, but if it is late, then simply complain to Amazon and you'll get a refund.

I find it kinda amusing reading about all these calibration issues considering I have none while grabbing my iWatch videos :lol

You can probably just contact them here and let them know you want to cancel. Let me know if it works. :)
Used the link and they just sent me an email confirming a cancellation. I'll just go to a store and pick it up - great news because I haven't played Gladiator because I wanted to controllers.

My Move impressions day 2 (1 Move controller):

I could not wait to play it again so I got to Best Buy right when it opened, I had to ask for them to get the controller and then I got 1 hour and 30 min all to myself. I did not bother playing TT again so I went right for Volleyball. Now I have Beach Spikers on GC and I consider it to be one of the best sports games of all time, it gets super fast paced too. I played Bronze cup of course and had to get used to the controls for about 2 mins I guess. I was pretty shocked at how good it played, it is almost exactly like Beach Spikers except instead of buttons it uses motion controls. Obviously is was not as fast paced on the Bronze cup but I was totally getting into it, when that dive prompt came up I was like, "OH SHIT," I dived with the controller and it worked :D it was awesome. The diving in SC volleyball is WAY better than Beach Spikers where they dive literally 5 inches, one of the few flaws with BS. Blocking in SC Volleyball seemed better than BS too, in BS is is VERY hard to get the block to come out. SC Volleyball seems to be the better game based on what I played, the only thing I could not judge was again the pace/speed of the matches, again I only played on Bronze cup.

Now for Archery which is the main game I came back to Best Buy for in the first place. Now based on vids on the internet it looks easy as hell, boy was I WRONG! This game is pretty hard because the Move is so sensitive, honestly way more realistic than I was expecting, remember I'm on the Bronze cup. Really fun, I only played one kind of match like 3 times because I was trying to 3 star it with 2000 points, I could only get 1900 :lol

Last game I played was......Gladiator of course. This is another game that looks easier in vids than it really is. This game is incredible I'm talkin straight up Soul Calibur, so awesome. I chose Rin again, Bronze cup, 6th match and up. First of all Rin looks awesome in her armor, she totally looks like Taki from Soul Calibur. I had to get used to the controllers because Gladiator takes way more concentration than all other sports, side stepping, back step, blocking (1 move), air hike, jump stabbing, special attacks, shield bash. Very fun game and I played this one the longest, about 20 maches. I had to leave after playing Gladiator because I was sweating like a pig and my arm got a little sore, I'm a bodybuilder of 9 years and even I was breathing hard WTF :lol

I can't wait to get a PS3 :D

EDIT: First day impressions

Wait, you actually dove right there in the store? :lol

No :lol I did more of a dash to the right, but in the game is registers as a dive

EDIT: LMFAO at the image of me actually diving in the store, they would have kicked my ass out so fast :lol

You are the tripod.

Only issue I've had is that like a mug, I forgot to tilt it slightly downwards but its worked flawlessly ever since.

Was playing some R.U.S.E last night. Its really refreshing to have a control scheme that feels natural for a console RTS.

I'm wondering the same thing myself. At Best Buy the TV was kind of low, the PSEye was super low under the TV and looking up at me AND it was slightly pointing to the right (I guess someone bumped into the TV stand). When I played it was flawless, I played 3 feet away from the PSEye.

I'm in the same position, except that it's from Zavvi and that it shipped the 17th :s

At least Amazon support seems to be great. He's already cancelled and reserved a couple of bundles (mine and his) for pick-up at PC World... I hope it all works out.

That sucks. I've bought games from Shopto that arrived in 10 days - all the way from the UK to Brazil. :lol

I really hope that devs of future MOVE titles take cue from SC, because this game shows how MOVE should be done. Some of the 3rd party are struggling in their 1:1 implementation of MOVE (going by Racquet Sports). Seems like when PS3 launched and most 3rd parties struggled to get decent performance out of PS3 but 1st/2nd party devs did much better using the capabilities of PS3. Move has a lot of potential but needs to be used well to expose its potential. Sony needs to help these 3rd party devs right now instead of 12 months down the road like they did with PS3.

Also, I want my SC Tennis and boxing add on!!! :). Wonder if they would implement MOVE for next Fight Night? That would be awesome if they do it well.

shut up you crazy fanboy....

obligatory ;) as it seems to be bandied around in both the SC and official MOVE thread a lot

no one else sore all over from playing sportschampion? I think I need a break from that game and get into more FCHD so I can rest and recover.

@arK

everything you've expressed I had too. Namcobandai needs to do a soulcalibur move and FNR5 (thought 3 was boring, didn't buy 4) could become a superb game with move controls if done right.

Also, the latest Tested Podcast was talking about Move and they were sort of dismissive saying that without feedback, the 1:1 controls, that SC wasn't very ... what's the word? immersive? I couldn't find myself disagreeing more. Its like they didn't even bother to play it.

Huh. Surprising, because Activision's even saying in interviews they want to prioritise their own plastic over the new motion platforms.

Not that I'm complaining, I think it's very accommodating of them :P

This is because the motion controllers havent become standard yet. Their sentiment will change with time.

I've had no calibration issues either, although I feel bad for those that are having them. It works flawlessly on my setup.

Excellent, I'm grabbing it. Will I need the Move wand plus the Navi or two wands or what's the best hardware config to play it?
For Heavy Rain, all you actually need is the game and one wand. You can navigate with the dual shock 3.

Or if money is no object, get 1 wand and 1 navicon. (Though you should get 2 wands and Sports Champions.)

its unbelievably worse with it!

I'm gonna sit back with some popcorn and watch while you guys duke it out. Winner gets to decide whether or not I buy Heavy Rain. :D

DS3 + wand combo sounds a bit cumbersome? I already have 1 wand + SC so grabbing a navicon would be easiest.

So Bass supports the Move but not CoD? Maybe they'll change their mind after KZ3 comes out.

It's really not bad using a DS3, but yeah the Navicon works even better.

Also, didn't know you already had SC. So yeah, get a navi and you're good to go.

They just mapped the movements you do with the stick to the move.
the thing is: while, in all its abstractions, the movements you did with the stick make sense, its just weird to spin around the move and see it trigger something oin the screen.

not natural at all, what i was hoping for, since i had high hopes for the move version, and planned on playing the full game with it, but now im juist going to stick to the controller

Maybe for the first ten minutes. After that, you get used to what motions it expects you to do for each move, and it all falls into place. Like, for example, you eventually get to know that to grab something, you have to first reach for it and then pull it towards you.

I have only encountered one area where I really couldn't do what the on screen prompt was telling me to. Apart from that it's all been dandy. It's not really an issue anyway - you can switch back to the normal DS3 at any time.

Yeah, I'd like some workout game impressions too. Any of those out? I'm trying to justify Move right now, and if it had some good workout games it would be easier, because I had already sold my wife on Kinect (which I pre-ordered) but now I want to get Move since its out. :D

yeah but why get used to something, if its better in its original form? i think the game is worth buying, but absolutely not for move controls.

Earl Cazone said:
is your argument seriously: "the controls are not as responsive, so its harder and more fun!"?
i thought amir0x was harsh with calling you an apologist, but this seems like he pretty much nailed it.
What? No where in his post did he say that.

damn it I just realized I can't play Time Crisis since they never released the demo on any store. It sucks for those of us who didn't actually have to buy the full bundle. Blah! They really need to stop having demos being region specific and only on a disc in the full bundle. It doesn't make any sense. :(

TheExecutive said:
A noble edit. I have yet to try it but are the control movements exactly the same? That seems straight up lazy if true.

Nah movement controls not the same.

movement = just use L stick to move. No more holding R.

Everything is reworked.

Its a free patch that applies all the way through the entire title. Nothing lazy or futile about it.
its great. Even if you don't think the motion control adds value. you can always play with the DS3.

+
there's a demo you know.

I got RE5 in the mail Saturday after buying it online through Best Buy. (It was on sale for $29.99) Here are my thoughts on the Move controls.

Pros -

Swiping your knife at any time is as easy as a flick of the wrist.

Aiming reticule makes head shots a little easier if you have a steady wrist.

QTE's are made much easier. Just a quick waggle of the Move, or press the Move button.

Cons -

Camera does not follow your reticule when you go near the edge of your screen like it would in Wii games. You have to move the camera with the joystick.

Also, when either using a gatling gun or sniper rifle, you aim with your left joystick instead of the Move. WTF?!

While I'm glad to finally have an excuse to use my Nav controller, but you're probably better off with a normal controller for RE5. Why did they mess up on this when RE 4 on Wii was so well done?

...did you not play RE4 Wii? Or do you just not remember it?

i was going to ask the same thing.

i actually prefer using the stick to look around and be able to aim independantly. since you cant move and shoot it makes sense to use seperate aiming and looking about.

Not to mention it's far more effective to blast though enemies since they are independent of one another.

At TGS if you played any Move title the boothbabe gave you a Move demo disc, this is such a tease considering the Move isn't released in Japan until October 21st. It's just sitting there starring at me...I wanna play some Big 3 Shooting(Time Crisis) and Ape Escape. :(

It HAS been awhile since I played RE4 on Wii.

One other thing that drives me nuts. I originally beat this game on 360. Now, If I want to play the new DLC missions, I have to play all the way through RE5 again. XP

Oh, and Sheva? could you PLEASE stop shooting me in the back? I have to keep taking her ass out of cover mode or else she'll try to shoot through me.

RobbieNick said:

That's not really a bad thing. When I replayed RE5gold (pre move), I had a blast and I went from thinking its a 6.5/10 (I hated it) game to a 9/10 game. The DLC+the versus/merc modes are great fun.
