Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

My DreamGear PS3 Power Stand is here. Will take pics soon.

31NjQvsFzBL._SL500_AA500_.jpg

Pros:
- Works as a PS3 Stands (Slim);
- Can charge 2 Dualshock 3, 2 Playstation Move controllers and 2 Navigation Controllers;
- Includes 4 USB Ports for a total of 5 ports if PS3 USB port is counted;
- Dedicated Power ON/OFF button to prevent overcharge when you have your controllers docked in;
- LED indicator which shows if controller is charging (Red LED), 95% charged (Red/Blue flashing LED) and fully charged (Blue LED).

Cons:
- Move controller and Navigation controller have dedicated ports and their charging hole diameter is not the same size so you cannot mix and match, which sucks cause I was relying on it to charge 4 PSMove controllers and not just 2 at a time;
- Move/navigation controller charger uses USB instead of the two charging slots dedicated for docks. It forces you to align the controllers one particular way and its not as friendly as Official PS3 Docks even though it gets the job done very nicely with the LED indications;
- Price: $40 is a bit steep for the stand but I guess adding all the usage, it evens up.

All in all, I am satisfied with the purchase!

Is there likely to be a Demon's Souls 2 though? What with Atlus making a "spiritual successor" that's multiplat?

Seems to me that SCEJ would have to make it themselves, would be a great way to sell the peripheral though.

I have a strange issue with The Shoot (the demo). After calibration (and I'm calibrating correctly) the cursor drifts like mad to the left of the screen. If I hold steady in the center, it drifts to the edge of the screen within 15 seconds!

I haven't had any drifting issues with Sports Champions or Tumble.

Do you happen to have an old PSEye? This kind of thing started happening with mine before it died. But yeah, try the XMB > Accessory Settings recalibration if you haven't.

Thanks for the impressions.

Based on that, I'm going to assume the Dreamgear Quad Charger is the same (Move / Nav ports not interchangeable), which defeats the purpose for me. Official charging station it is!

Yeah, that's definitely the case. If you look at TTP's video for Sony's charging station, the design is very smart and the diameter changes accordingly. For DreamGear, that's not the case.

Now that it's towards the end of the day (and the review sites obviously don't have Time Crisis on their priority list with Fallout: NV releasing today as well) can anyone with Time Crisis confirm whether there's online multiplayer/coop?

And any general impressions would be nice.

The only review so far was a 6/10 and they said don't waste your money on the game unless you know what you're getting into lol.

k guys how the hell do i configure the move controller in time crisis so that i can have the nav buttons operate my shield? it seems that it keeps thinking the nav is a second player hopping in....... :/ gonna be pissed if this gun attachment is completely fucking pointless and i have to keep toggling the move button on top.

UFRA ill check the online stuff right now.

That's why I think only this:

Will work with shooters that require both Move and Nav, where the trigger is located at the front portion instead where it usually belongs. With one of you hands pulling triggers and thumb pressing face buttons on the Move, while the other hand controls movements and L1/L2 on the Nav.

It should be awkward, but the best way to play MAG/KZ3 with plastic attachments.
I think the only attachment that is feasible is that shotgun one. You can hold it in a way that you can press buttons on the Move controller.

I just used the move controller on the gun. I'd be interested to see if you can set it up the way you want. I didn't have much time to play around with it. I know I wasn't impressed with the calibration, but like I said I spent as little time as possible setting the controller up before playing.

no online co-op. the whole walking around parts of the game (story mode and online battle) are fucking weird.

i don't know if i'm gonna be able to have the patience to get used to the camera whipping in a direction like that. its difficult. for those who don't quite get what i mean, you walk around with your nav and the move aimer moves your camera when the crosshairs are at the edges of the screen.

the core gameplay of time crisis on the rails is good though. i played through the first acts of tc4 and tcrs and enjoyed them. i've yet to check out the pirate thing though.

id really like to know if you can program a second controller to be your shield button. it seems impossible in the menu system because anytime i press the nav it thinks its a second player so it gives another cross hair to control with the analog stick. its definitely ok to hold the move controller with 2 hands when using the gun peripheral but it makes me wonder if i should just return it? using 2 hands feels ok but itd be easier to just use the move controller outside the peripheral and be able to use one hand for shooting and shield.

ALSO, i struggled with the calibration at first but you get good at it and it actually works well. if it ever starts going weird in the game you just press select on the gun and aim at the eye and it recalibrates fast.

3rd Chapter of iWaggle3D's 3rd party accessories tour is up.

Charging Stations

CHARGERS.jpg

Did you know there are more than 20 of them out there? The fuck?

Anyway, Shagg, DeadGzuz and whoever has one of these: would be nice if you could post your impressions in the comments section of the article since the info I've got is quite limited to what I could gather from pics/descriptions online :/

A simple C&P from here will suffice. Doesn't need to be exclusive :D

As a reminder, here are the first two chapters of the tour
Guns and stuff
Swords and stuff

Thanks for following-up. Looks like I'm going to pass on this since I was excited to play online with people.

*sigh* Still without some online games for Move. :(

No, I meant the one on the top right, where you can apparently select dualshock+move or move+move or dualshock+dualshock...
If you look at the individual docks you'll notice the mini-USB connectors in there.

The pirate game is pretty sweet. You hold down the trigger and it's a machine gun and you just blast away everything in front of you. TC4 is the same and haven't tried Razing Storm yet.

Trying to unlock the unlimited continues for each game so I can finish them on the first go with the gf.

I like the one at the top left with the 2 moves and the 2 Navicons.

I'm quite happy with my official Sony one, but if I had to chose one, I'd get the BigBen Move+Navi+Headset charger. A pity it doesn't charge DS3 as well :lol

One station to charge them all!

I got The Shoot today. It's fantastic! I got both Time Crisis and The Shoot and I'm liking he Shoot quite a bit more. It's not nearly as frantic as TC and it's fun to play in short sittings.

Also, I returned my Energizer 2x Move charger. I charged my controllers all night and only one of the lights turned green, the other light stayed 'orangish'. The controllers were charged but it spoke to the quality of the charger.

Its weird that there have been only a handful reviews so far and no OTs for these games. I am interested in buying which ever is better but waiting for more reviews and impressions.

Do you play the shoot with a gun attachment or with the move by itself?

I just use the move itself. The controls are a tiny bit laggy at times. I'm playing pretty close to the tv so that might be the cause. If I think objectively TIme Crisis is the better game but I love the shoot more.

Picked up The Shoot today and the Sony gun adapter. I have only played the first scenario, but the game is fantastic. The move precision is spot on and very responsive. Difficulty seems to ramp up nicely and there is always something going on. I find that it is a bit easy to trigger the shockwave, but I may have my camera set to high. I love that the game also incorporates move elements other than the pointer. Taking cover requires that you move the controller down, dodging requires moving it to the side. You could do all of this by simply moving the controller, but moving with the controller (ducking and dodging) allows you to keep your targets in sight.

I am really enjoying Tumble and Sports Champions, and The Shoot is another top notch addition. Sure it is an on rails shooter, but it does the genre proud.

Now I just wish I could use the gun adapter to play RE5. While it wouldn't be awkward to use the nav controller and the move at the same time, it would be almost impossible to use the T button and the Move button at the same time.

Move finally came out in Japan. And I bought 2 move controllers today. I skipped on the Nav controller for now. And the Sony docking station is too small. I'll probably get a 3rd party one.

They didn't even have Sports Champions at my store. Out of stock or something which was a bummer. Not that the product was flying off the shelves or anything.

They gave me a demo disk. But otherwise I got no games. So I bought Tumble off US PSN. I also had MAG and RE5Gold from before so I'll try those too.

Is Time Crisis out in Europe? I live in Finland and haven't seen it anywhere in my town. If I would have to choose between The Shoot and Time Crisis, it would definitely be the latter, but alas TC is nowhere to be found.

i got the time crisis pack today.

the gun zapper attachment thing is really nice! from playing the demo of the shoot, though, that game feels more accurate...anyway, i like the hardware so far. have mostly just been playing flight control.

they are out of stock of SC in most of smaller countries too... we have been waiting for restock here in Croatia since the first batch sold out day 1... they simply did not have enough of them, and we never got standalone move controllers either because sony sent them all to western countries.

it seems that sony didnt expect sales they got, they probably thought it will sell slower until they get more stock and holiday advertising...

Amazon.jp always ship on release day without exception. The only reason to order through them is for the low, low price they offer. If you want your games on launch day, it is better to pick up your goods from a local store.

As you said, they have better prices than local stores, that's why I ordered from them. But I don't agree with you about the shipping thing. They shipped Mario Collection on Wii yesterday, and I think it's already waiting for me in the mailbox. And same thing happened a few months back when I ordered Mario Galaxy 2 from them. I think they usually get the games on Wednesday and ship them immediately, so depending on where you live you'll get them on Thursday or Friday. I guess I should blame Sony, they must be the ones who shipped the packs too late.

Started up Sports Champions after taking a break for a couple of weeks and I couldn't believe how easy gold cup is in Table Tennis. Before the break I was having difficulty defeating the second person with three stars, but I just breezed through the second to seventh person 3-star in the first or second try. The majority of the points I lose is when I hit the ball bad and it just floats off the table.

Just got an email from Amazon this morning that my order for Time Crisis Razing Storm has been delayed until sometime between November 10th and 24th. WTF? Did they just sell out on pre-orders or something?

Guess I'll let it stand and just see when it arrives.
