Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Killzone 3 next month!

Do you plan on using their rifle controller? I'm undecided. Walking around with the navigation controller seems like it'll be a challenge when I'm swinging the rifle around to aim at the same time. I don't get it.

Another triumph for gaming innovation came in the form of Sony's PlayStation Move, a Wii-like motion controller, on the market in a large part thanks to the dev team lead by Move developer Anton Mikhailov. One of the brains behind Sony's motion-sensory gaming tech, Mikhailov took off on a worldwide tour to show off his creation a much-deserved victory lap for a project for which he did so much of the grunt work.

CONGRATS!!!! Young fella

Trying to decide between Hustle Kings and Top Darts. Neither are types of games I ever thought I'd pay money to play in video format, but here I am with a Move and checking out videos of what appear to be incredibly polished and deceptively content-heavy games. I have Tumble and Sackboy so far, and I'm about get Echochrome 2. But I want something else I can play with other people using a single Move wand. I've ruled out HVB since WSR does the job, and from reviews it doesn't sound too impressive compared to the other games in terms of showing off the Move.

What is GAF's consensus on the two?

Hustle Kings is super difficult with the Move controller. I was hoping it would be a little more natural feeling but to me it isn't haha.

Haven't tried Top Darts but I'd like to. It looks pretty cool.

Getting a PS3 Move bundle tomorrow as my old one died on me finally :lol

Wondering what the best multiplayer games are. I've heard good things about Sports Champions, but not too sure how good of a multiplayer title it is. Just looking for the best thing my gf and I can play at the moment.

Sports Champions should be mandatory for people as their first great Move title.
Showcases the technology and has fun multiplayer (no online) and single player.

I would suggest downloading the demo's out there.

What's everyones favourites?

What do you like to play ?

For Move and PSEye, my top faves are:
* KungFu Live
* Sports Champions
* Beat Sketcher

I also like John Daly ProStroke Golf (only if you're a golfer), Tumble.

Thanks for the suggestions, Patsu!

Think I'll pick up Beatsketcher and Sports Champ.

How is the Move integration for Heavy Rain? Better with or without?

personally i liked it better with move. theres a heavy rain move demo on the PS store so you can try before you buy

I like Planet Minigolf, if you want a minigolf game. Its cheap on PSN and has various themes and make your own holes.

I'm thinking about Planet Minigolf as well. Either that or Top Darts to play with the GF and when I have friends over.

did they ever add move controls to the Planet MiniGolf demo? I didn't like the demo with the DS3, and don't want to make a blind purchase without trying the move controls.

Nope. Just tried it myself. I tried to get the Move working and I get an error message saying something like "Buy the Full version to enjoy the most immersive yadda yadda yadda..." There's even a Move safety disclaimer when you first boot the game. Fuckers. No Planet Minigolf Move demo and no Top Darts demo. How am I supposed to know which one to get? :(

Did you check my Top Darts vid? It's in the OP (iWaggle3D section).

Heavy Rain is so amazing with the Move. Having Move integration brought new life into the game for me, and I was finally able to get the Platinum trophy. I don't think I could play the game again without the Move. It's not shoehorned in like I thought it would be at all. You should definitely at least try out the demo. :)

I did check out your video. It was very thorough and informative, and I did read that review as well. I went through movemodo to see if I could find out whether Top Darts or PMG is the better buy for getting the Wii-loving GF in on it. Her argument is that there's no darts game on any of the Wii Sports discs, so might as well get TD. But I really like the look of PMG. Kinda reminds me of what a Hot Shots Golf would look if they made a putt-putt edition.

Both are good games as far as Move integration goes so you can't go wrong whatever you end up getting. They are quite different games of course so I can't really suggest one over the other.

Hope Sony is already shipping a Version to you, they will never get better marketing than your detailed videos (if the game and the move implementation is good).

Thanks Donos. :)
You heard him Sony.

On a related note, I should get the KZ3 preview code any day now. Can't wait to try it out with the Move and report back!

But first,
I need to finish my Under Siege video ;)

Are you going to get one of those awesome new-fangled guns they are promoting?

You guys need to try the kung-fu live demo...I was skeptical about the tech but it really works pretty good. I don't understand the frustration expressed by the media and some users about the calibration. It was actually pretty simple. I played it in night time with one floor lamp in front of me and I was able to calibrate without much problem. The image was not super sharp and it still had some background but it played fine.

Anyway give it a try, the game is really fun IMO and nothing like I had experienced before. Seeing yourself on the screen doing crazy stuff is sooo awesome!

One word of warning: this game gets your heart rate up in no time so take it easy. I was grasping for air in 5-6 minutes :lol . I need to get on some exercise routine!! :)

There actually was a Mini-Golf edition of Hot Shots that was released in 2008 on PSN:

No Move compatibility that I know of I'm afraid. It ended up being Japan (as Minna no Putter Golf), and Asia PSN-only (as Everybody's Putter Golf with Toro). Asia PSN release may actually be in English. But don't hold me on that.

There is a lot less talk here about Echochrome II then I hoped for. Still on the fence about it. :/

I bought it and I'm loving it to death. I guess all I can say is that if you want to make your head hurt this is the perfect game for you. :lol

Starts off nice and easy and keeps introducing you to a bunch of mechanics along the way. There are tons of levels and you can play through, and each level has several different modes you can play it in. It also has a level editor and a bunch of cool online features. Not to mention Youtube uploading in 720p! Here's a video I uploaded.

FYI, Gamestop is running a deal on Move games, picked up The Shoot and The Fight for $50 in total + tax:

(stolen from CAG):
TV Superstars
The Shoot
Start the Party
Sports Champion (game only)
Kung Fu Rider
High Velocity Bowing
The Fight: Lights Out

I played a demo with move controls (I downloaded it last week). As I remember was from the Euro store. Try to turn on the move controller before launching the demo.

BTW when downloaded the Ape Scape demo, I noticed there was a Move enabled RE5 Gold demo in the jap store.

I thought RE5 controls were going to be shitty after reading some reviews (IGN?), but it worked really well. Not mapping the shoot to the trigger was the only thing I didn't liked.

And not being able to turn the camera while aiming (which you can do with the DS3). I guess they couldn't be bothered with adding a bounding box.

Wait i thought you could do that with the analog stick?

Yeah, with the left stick (or the Navi one). I meant being able to turn with your "aiming hand", which is my right hand. I'm not used to turning the camera with my left hand, which is also why I find it quite difficult to snipe in RE5 (which is done solely via left stick).

Yeah I can't say it's really natural, but having played RE4 with Wii controls makes it a little bit easier.

Anyone know where to find a move controller? They are sold out everywhere. This thing is more popular than a hobo with a golden radio voice.

What's everyones favourites?

Favorites:
-Sports Champions (specifically Gladiator Duel and Archery, 2 controllers is awesome, singleplayer campaign)
-The Shoot (fun at first and some nice ideas but gets pretty repetitive, maybe because I don't usually play shooters onrails...worth getting on the cheap side)
-Singstar Dance (also Dance Dance Revolution has a nice Move mode)
-Tumble (Physics jenga-like building & exploding puzzle game)
-Funky Lab Rat (physics puzzle-platformer with cool time elements, tons of levels and a charming presentation)

Good examples of Move:
-The Fight
-MAG
-Heavy Rain
-echochrome 2
-TV Superstars
-Sword & Soldiers

Looking forward to:
-Dungeon Defenders and Modern Combat (Gameloft hack'n'slash and fps)
-Move Heroes
-Killzone 3
-LBP2
-No More Heroes
-Socom 4
-Sorcery
-Michael Jackson: The Experience

Dungeon Defenders ain't Gameloft Hack N Slash game. That's Dungeon Hunter.
Dungeon Defenders is the action/tower defense game.
