PlayStation Now for PC now available in North America

I look forward to trying this when I get home from work. The website says a Dual Shock 4 is required. Is that for real? I was hoping to use a 360 controller.

I'm sorry this might be a dumb question but I'm confused about what playstation now is, is playstation now strictly referring to their streaming subscription plan or just any of their streaming rentals?

I guess what I'm asking is can I rent a single game through my pc or do I have to have their full subscription to use it?

Subscription is for unlimited access iirc, you can also pay on a per game basis instead if you want.

Tried it out for a few minutes on my 180mbit line playing Killzone 3 and Borderlands. The throughput for the video data is still pretty close to 100% consistently, no drops or frame loss that I can really notice. The input latency is still there and probably around 100-150ms, but on my PC it feels closer to 100ms whereas my PS4 feels closer to 150ms. The differences are so minimal that it's really impossible to know whether I'm imagining it, so I'll look forward to the digital foundry report to see more concrete details.

I suppose it goes without saying that PS Now doesn't allow for playing of PS3 games you already own for free on your PC, without the subscription fee, right?

Excited to try this out! What are some of the top Playstation exclusives available with this service? I'm looking at playing God of War: Ascension & Resistance 3 right now.

You're correct.

Though I would've at least liked it if you could import PS3 saves. Not having to hook up my PS3 to get back into Ni No Kuni would've been great if it wouldn't mean I'd lose a 15+ hour save file.

Here is the new games update for this month, also $99 for a year of PS Now is back guys!

You can transfer PS3 saves to PS Now if you have PS+ Cloud just so you know.

I'm using an Xbox one controller to play uncharted 3 right now so you should be able to use a 360 controller.

Somebody from EU said 360 controller works

I will have to try when I get home today

There is no search option or is it not available since I'm not subscribed?

It's a pain to look for a title manually.

CNET: I'll worry about the digital future when broadband actually becomes reasonable. As it stands living in Portland, my internet is ass compared to what it should be.

So PS Now has ICO but not SoTC? Bruh

yes its there :)

It works very well with a wired Xbox One controller, wired Ethernet connection, and a normal monitor with 5ms refresh. I don't think I could put up with display lag of a regular HDTV. I was able to hold my own against opponents in Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, which impressed me. I ended up buying the $99 annual subscription package. Thanks Sony. I'd rather play this through my PC than PS4 anyway. It feels more responsive when hooked up to a monitor anyway.

Does anyone know how to find Resident Evil Code Veronica X HD? The game list stops at O for me alphabetically and I can't find it in any of the genre lists.

The games I've tried so far play great with a Logitech F710. Had some trouble with controllers requiring Sixaxis features. Might get that PS4 adapter for PC, can't stand wired controllers.

Keeps going for me all the way to Z. Code Veronica is in R in between RE6 and RE: Rev.

I just installed the app. Is there no way to do a performance test to make sure your internet's up to snuff before you actually subscribe? I don't see the option anywhere.

EDIT: Never mind, you have to click on a game first :)

It should run the test when you select a game after you start the app. It won't allow you to put your credit card info in beforehand, which is smart.

ive been a pc only gamer for a long time, but the thought of $99 to get a year's worth of access to all the PS titles i've always wanted to try (last of us, uncharted, killzones, etc) seems like a decent deal.

I've got the app installed and miraculously was able to sign in with my PSN ID which last shows activity in 2011 - worked no problem. I even have $10.01 in my wallet (?). I'll probably hold off until the PS Meeting thing next week to actually start my free trial but the $99/year seems worth it for at least 1 year. More than that becomes a much different consideration for sure.

Like, I would really love to play TLoU, uncharted collection, GoW collection, etc on a PS4, but the Neo is coming out and at the same time, that $400 could go toward the next PC I'm planning, and.....

Just played a stage in Sonic Generations and a quick round of Super Stardust HD with my XB1 controller. It was damn near solid! I'm super excited!

I just tried it out for about an hour and I am really impressed. Works great with a 360 controller and my 25mb connection.

I went ahead and paid for the year. Seems totally worth it to me as I only briefly owned a PS3 and never played any of the big games for it. Can't wait to play through Last of Us, all the Uncharteds, Ratchet and Clanks, etc.

I also find it mind blowing that I can now play 400+ PS3 games on my PC with an XBOX controller through an official Sony released app. The times we live in.
