PlayStation Plus Game of the Year

The diversity of replies in this thread as far as what people's favourite games are, is astounding.

Shows how many good games that a large number of gamers can enjoy are 'given' by this Service.

So much value for the gamer.

That said, I can't even pick a GOTY for me from those...

Velocity Ultra could be that though, loved the hell out of that game.

EU PS+ here btw.

They can't. This year will be the high point. After this their problem is going to be massively inflated expectations.

I expect to see tons of 'when did PS+ go so shit' threads this time next year. I'm not kidding at all, this pace is completely unsustainable.

I think people were expecting this year to its downfall because of how solid 2012 was. It'll be fine as long as people keep their expectations in check. Like not expecting many if any retail titles for the PS4 next year. It'll be another strong year for the PS3/Vita while adding some really good indie titles to the PS4's catalog.

I already see people expecting retail PS4 titles for 2014, which is damn near impossible. Best we can hope for it 'PS+ versions' of titles, like we're getting with DriveClub.

The PS3's lineup should be good, but it just won't have as good a release list to choose from this year, and from then on the PS3 3rd party releases will start drying up.

As for the Vita, what haven't they given us at this stage? LBP? Atelier? They've completely run out of games there due to their own generosity.

It's going to take a while for the PS4 service to find it's feet (Resogun was a phenomenal start) and while this is happening there will be a big decline in Vita quality and a fair decline in PS3. People aren't ready for that.

Eh. My guess is they use Gaikai when it comes out as an excuse to give out PS3 games all over again. TBH I'm not sure I'd complain.

Oh wow, if only they kept the igc games longer, at least a year, that list of games would've been totally amazing if both old and new subscribers would get access to the whole lot, almost system seller amazing. Many people would probably be perfectly alright with not buying a single game the regular way.

Lol, this is based on absolutely nothing. Way to spread the FUD people have been saying since the inception of PS+.
Guess what, hundreds of games release each and every year, and titles given away on PS+ are a drop in the bucket.

I'm going with Resogun because it's my favorite game in its genre, my favorite PS4 launch title, and overall best game out of the ones I've played on the list.

I'm sad to say that the only PS+ games I've really played (beaten at least) were a few of the Vita ones. Uncharted: Golden Whatever was so-so, Wipeout was Wipeout (not my favorite series, but it does look fantastic), Gravity Rush looked cool, but I wasn't a fan of actually playing it.

Stranger's Wrath Vita seems like a good port, but I've only played a bit of it.

I haven't actually played the HD port of it yet, but as it's a favorite game of mine, I'll have to vote for Shadow of the Colossus. But I am looking forward to playing Dragon's Dogma after I beat Dark Souls.

Without question...

Spec Ops is a close second...

New Little Kings Story
Virtue's Last Reward
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
X-com
Guacamelee

I already had Soul Sacrifice and Demon's Souls.

So many awesome games!

People use to laugh, but with ps+, the term PlayStation ecosystem really makes sense. By being a subscriber, the pull to buy all the PlayStation systems is quite irresistible.

wow, I see plenty of Dragon's Dogma fans in here. I might have to devote some time to play it. I have a lenthy backlog of games, I have yet to play.

When the hell was Soul Sacrifice on Plus? Or was it one of the rare ones that went to the EU store but not the AU store?

I only subscribed to PS+ because of the free trial that came with the PS4. Man, I missed out! I only recently bought a few of those games. To think I could have got them for free...

Edit: Oh, and my PS+ game of the year is Uncharted 3, since I haven't played most of the others.

For me it will either be Okami HD or Sonic and All Stars Racing. The former is just a majestic experience, the latter is the best hart racing game I have owned since Diddy Kong Racing.

Edit - I'd already played and loved Saints Row 3 and Mafia 2 long before they came to plus, but they're definitely up there.

Coming to Plus (EU) later this month or early January. I forget which...

Entering PS Plus:
24th December: DmC Devil May Cry (PS3)
24th December: Borderlands 2 (PS3)
24th December: Soul Sacrifice (Vita)
24th December: Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend (Vita)
8th January: Don’t Starve (PS4)

Demon's Souls for me. Although overall, I'd prefer games like Remember Me that I would never want to buy, or would always be wary of buying, instead of the heralded classics. Those flawed, yet interesting titles are best suited to being PS+ freebies.

Resogun. I would've gladly paid 20 bucks for it. Housemarque really can do no wrong. I eagerly await Dead Nation 2.

I like both games, didn't realise Dead Nation was from the guys that made the amazing Resogun! Play that game every day, co-op with my buddie!

Dead Nation should be amazing indeed. Really hope they make it
