Playstation VR GDC Presentation: March 15th

The only thing I find surprising was that they didn't re-design them.

I'm sure they have, at the very least to replace the "Start" and "Select" buttons. There's little chance that they're just going to be manufacturing more of the existing PS Moves. They have to rebrand it somehow. I'm expecting some other tweaks too.

My guess is on $349 without the accessories (maybe $299 but it looks too low). Something like $399 with a Move controller and the PS camera.

They won't price it $500, they want to make money on the software...

Part of me hopes the price is higher than expected as I will not have the urge to bite. I have Rift and Vive pre-orders already which my wife doesn't know about which isn’t going to be good news. Will probably settle on just one for now. Damn it man. Too many choices.

I know the smartest thing to do is to wait. But hell with that....

I'm pre ordering PSVR the second it comes available, I'm super hyped for it and all in on it regardless of cost.

I am hyped! I have a DK2 I am just concerned that we need solid experiences from the get go. If I see one game that I can imagine will last me some time I am there DAY ONE.

Even if they do reveal juicy bits like release date and price, launch lineup, it can still be embargoed and we may not find out anything at all today. A colleague of mine is attending but even she is skeptical.

Betting: June 7th.

June 24th for UK (No Man's Sky release) :)

But actually, if it isn't going to launch day and date with No Man's Sky, then I agree with your date, hardware doesn't have to follow the usual UK release of Friday. As for price, I've had £199-£249 as the min/max price since forever, going back and forth but feeling confident now, especially after a previous thread chatting with serversurfer.

Man I can't wait to see who eats crow. The $399 and under crowd or the $449 and over crowd for headset only.

Anyone want to do an avatar bet?

Less than or equal to $300 for headset+camera.
Above $300 for headset+camera.

Losers have to use a Summer Lesson avatar for a month.

Edit: Changed it from $299 to less than or equal to $300.

not gonna be under 299 for headset and camera. Maybe 299 for headset alone. I would definitely take the over in your bet.

I'm gonna highball and say that the headset, Move controllers, and camera will be 599.

Headset by itself 449.

Been over budgeting well over 599 just in case. I'm excited!

lol. I probably didn't think this through well enough. OK how about this.

Edit: Actually just change it so that its less than or equal to $300.

I am getting the gut feeling that Reddit source might be right.

Meaning:
Headset & Breakoutbox = $ 299
Camera, Controllers & Game sold separately = $ 129

Bundled together it becomes the "starter kit"...

Are Move controllers required for most games?

Maybe not required, but they are being looked as a default controller in a lot of games because is more intuitive. Dreams doesnt require Move, but every time they demo it nowadays they do it with a PS Move controller. Just one example, Dreams prob will have official VR support

I wouldn't be against this. The controllers are just Move controllers right?

It's going to be a mix of DualShock 4 or Move controllers for gameplay, it would be safe to find some pre-owned quickly whilst they are cheap, as retailers will get full confirmation to restock them tonight (and thus they'll increase the price). I luckily found a Navigation Controller for £3 (which I don't think is going to be used, but just incase, and I found an additional Move controller for £5.99 at GAME (of all places, they're usually expensive for everything there)
