Playstation VR GDC Presentation: March 15th

So basically $499 with the move peripherals. Too much when it's being pushed by sub par hardware and with no good software. Will probably play the wait and see game.

OH LAWD BATTLEFRONT VR!

$400 is a good price but not enough for me to go all in. BUT BATTLEFRONT VR!!!!. Gotta see what that's about but that's tempting.

If this event has them announcing the price I'm going to go with $499. I know it seems about $100 too high, but so far these VR headsets haven't been cheap. I think people have continually expected them to be cheaper than what's economically feasible right now. I'd say I'm about 60% confident in that being the price, the other 40% going to a price of $399. I believe a price of $399 would have better greater market appeal, though still be a little too high for wide spread adoption.

My prediction from earlier in the thread. If I had put the caveat of my prices being in Canadian I would have been 100% spot on! ;)

I doubt they have Battlefront built from the ground up to support a full VR experience. I'm willing to bet it's a small addition that will be placed into the game, similar to a mini-game.

LOL,
idiot

Ad hominem attacks now? Classy.

And I agree. This was Sony's chance to become the face of VR.

Sure, they'll beat OR and Vive. But VR isn't an established market. OR and Vive are not the ones to beat. It's the general public, the mainstream. At 399 (for the base model) a widespread success is already impossible.

This is very disappointing. I might still get it, when launch crawls closer, but it'll be nothing more than an enthuasiast niche device. :(

Star Wars Battlefront VR "Experience".

Guys, you shouldn't be expecting normal FPS games in VR, it doesn't work. At least not well enough to be sold to the masses without major nausea issues.

Battlefront VR.

Could be really awesome. I wonder if it will be space battles? Rendered in Frostbite that would be amazing, and it already runs well.

I feel like if you think $399 is too expensive for this type of tech maybe VR just isn't for you.

not everyone feels like they should shell out $$ for a 4K TV either...

I'm hoping CAD value goes back up by that time, so maybe we might get something like 450 instead 500.

Also, possibly NX, Zelda, FFXV and some more around same time. :/

Nice Horizon artwork there.
