Hi,

Last week I've bought a dsi with 42 classic games and I have totally fallen in love with this system. I previously had a DSphat which I totally neglected when I got my ps3 but since that stupid piece of shit has YLODed I got myself a dsi to rediscover what true games are all about.

I still haven't spent any dsi points on dsiware and I am just about to go to the shop to buy myself a DS treat.

Any DS games you guys can recommend me straight from your heart? Spirit tracks is whispering as link's awakening is my total favourit handheld (if not games in general) game forever.

Thanks! :D

Bangai-O Spirits for the action and explosions, Flower, Sun and Rain for the mindfuck story and characters.

Final Fantasy III

Zelda Spirit Tracks or Phantom Hourglass

Mario Kart DS

Ouendan (1, 2 and EBA)

Ninja Gaiden DS

GTA DS

You can never go wrong with Capcom, so hit up Mega Man ZX, its sequel, or any of the three Castlevania titles.

Spirit Tracks > Phantom Hourglass if you're going Zelda. You won't miss much of anything by skipping PH.

Mario Kart DS is my favorite DS game, and will provide you with hours and hours of fun.

Spirit Tracks is a safe bet also. I enjoyed it a lot.

Other games to consider
Elite Beat Agents (it's like 5-10$ at most stores, and should not be missed)
Any Pheonix Wright game
New Super Mario Bros
Any Kirby game
Pokemon Platinum
Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon
Chibi Robo Park Patrol (I love this game, and it's really cheap on Amazon. It's surprisingly relaxing and controls well)

The Phoenix Wright series, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, GTA: Chinatown Wars, the Professor Layton games

Final Fantasy Tactics A2 - A great SRPG if you're into those.

Phoenix Wright / Apollo Series
- Awesome games and fantastic to play through.

Retro Game Challenge
Picross
Peggle
Castlevania (I like all three personally)
Pokemon Platinum (or wait for HG/SS, or get both)

The following are DSiWare:

Trajectile
Mighty Flip Champs
Mario vs DK 3
Dark Void Zero
PiCTOBiTS

If you are into the whole Japanese thing, than pick up TWEWY. I personally couldn't stand it, but I know it is well loved in these forums.

if you're looking for a hidden gem, and you like tiny robots that clean up things with toothbrushes and ride bikes to the sounds of ukelele, you can't go wrong with CHIBI ROBO PARK PATROL. do not sleep on this game, people. it is fantastic.

Have you tried Chibi-Robo: Welcome Home?

If by straight from the heart you mean something that might not be flawless but still offers an unforgettable experience, I'll say Hotel Dusk. Atmospheric, striking character design, unique gameplay mechanics and a really satisfying storyline once everything comes together. Can be a slow burn but it's stuck with me long after finishing it.

This one's good too. I picked it up for $15 used and don't regret it one bit. The story's great, the art is great, the way the DS is used is good. If I had only one nitpick with the game, it's that there are pieces to a puzzle all over the place but you can only solve the puzzle if you do something at one time in the middle of the game.

Stupid change for a dollar. Why couldn't I ever ring the bell for service to get that change instead of pick the one time he was actually at the front desk?
