Point And Click Fans... Its Zombie Time

Once again, I apologize for pimping a friend's project, but also again, I figured folks around here might get a kick out of it. But if its a problem, please let me know.

Anyway, a friend of mine (the other half of Teen Boat, which I know some folks around here dig... you might also recall me mentioning his partner's other game related project) has just created a point and click game using some engine that I believe is available to anyone. The authors was so impressed that once they saw what he was doing, they decided to publish it! And the demo for this game is finally available for download and playing. I highly suggest it to anyone who's a fan of old LucasArts point and click adventures...

Just click on Nearly Departed.

Looks really cool. I love these kinds of games, and I love teh art style. What is it for? PC? (if so, too bad..)

I was/am pleasantly surprised. Nice art, everything seems to match!

Nice animations, especially that subway guy! I know how hard these are to do, been working on animations for a fan game for almost a year now.

I can't get that ticket out of the bums pocket...

Yea I'm stuck at the same thing.

How do I put the
shovel shards back together to pry open the manhole? If I drag and drop the gum over it, he says "hmmm, I think you're on to something" but nothing happens.

Same problem here, I als don't know what to do with the bum.

Actually you need to use the gum with the pin on the crypt then use the shovel parts to open it

The game shows alot of promise, your friend should be proud...

I did run into a few problems
if you use the mud in the stone basin before you break the lock on the gate, you can't get out of the cemetary
and had a few "Script Errors" that crashed the game, but it's still a fine demo, I can see why someone would be intereseted in publishing it...

you can still get out, just rub the muddy sheet and shards again to get more mud

Wow, looks really sweet... love the high res art - I'd imagine this is the kind of thing we'd see if adventure games never died. Since it's bedtime for me, I'll give it a try tomorrow after work, promised!

I think I'm close to the end of the demo, I've
zombified
the bum, but I'm not finding anything else in terms of inventory or revisiting areas.
Tried using the basin mud on the shovel, as well as gum and so forth, I've gotten the kid's address out of the phone book and called the number collect to no avail, I just can't figure out how to get the manhole cover open, which I assume is what will end up distracting the bum from flailing his arms.
Any advice?

Edit: OK, I've passed it, but that's a little agitating, I swear I tried that at least twice before, and was warned that that was just what was likely to happen. It probably needed the above trigger first, but I thought I'd tried it even since that. All well, demo completed, quite entertained. I'll probably pick up the full version once it's released.
