BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo announced today the upcoming release of the Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon game for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, the latest installment of the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series that has sold more than 13 million units worldwide. Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon will be available in North America in winter 2015.

Players can look forward to even greater, randomly created dungeons that change each time they enter. In Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, players will battle alongside Legendary and Mythical Pokémon to save the world in a sweeping tale of adventure and mystery.

Japan: Autumn 2015
US: Winter 2015
EU: Spring 2016

The timing of the release of this further cements my theory that we're to have no main series title this year.

Oh neat. Hopefully it's more like the Explorers Trilogy and less like the last 3DS title.

That's surprising. But hopefully a good thing since it means the next mainline game will have a bit more polish to it.

Spring 2016 for Europe, at this point, makes it impossible to have the next main Pokémon game in February, given the current trend of simultaneous releases. So, I suppose it'll release next Fall/Holiday. If NX releases on Fall/Holiday, then...

Yay! Mystery Dungeon is my favorite Pokemon spin-off series.

Please don't be like the last one.

Aren't you putting the Bar a bit high if you require it to be as good as the best one?

Hope =/= requires. Doesn't everyone hope the newest game in a series will be just as good as their personal favorite?

Not completly. If it's a Febuary release it would work. But i agree that chances are paperthin by now

Are these games any good? What are they like? I've always wondered about them but just kinda assumed they were cheap cash-grab spin-offs... but they keep making them, so there's gotta be something about them that people like, right?

I need to try this series. I always saw it as a shitty unnecessary cash grab spin-off but Shuffle taught me that shitty unnecessary cash grab spin-off can be good.

They're really fun Rogue-lite dungeon crawlers. Look up some gameplay and see if it's something that will appeal to you.

They're perfectly competent Mystery Dungeon games, so if you like the roguelike genre, they're probably at least worth finding out a little more!

I heard the latest one wasn't that great. I haven't played it though.

You gotta believe!

Thats the Spirit!

I think many would consider MD the best Sub-Series of Pokémon. At least thats what i hear a lot.
But the latest one (Gates to Infinity) seemed to be mediocore compared to the rest of the Series.

The first and second ones were great. The third one never came to the west and the fourth one was below average. The first and second were both for DS and are quite cheap now. I do hope this new one goes back to the height of the series.

20-freaking-16? Seriously? Why?

Is this another 'Europe gets Yoshi early' thing? Are we getting something this year this game has to stay out of the way of?

Yokai Watch this holiday in Europe but spring in America, maybe?

Well, used copies are okay, but new copies are expensive.

Hey, it takes a lot of time to change all those 'colors' to 'colours'

To be fair, the game will most likely support the EU5 languages. Still a bummer.

I'm interested though. Gates to Infinity was a step down from what we had before, but I still enjoyed it.
