Pokemon: Honedge's Evolution Revealed

You probably don't even play Pokemon. Or even give a shit.

Lol at this desperate knee jerk defense.

I play Pokemon, and I think the design is hilariously boring. They could have at least made it interesting by having an entire ghost animated set of armor or something. Nope, just added a second sword and changed the color a bit.

Spiritual successor to the Ice Cream Sundae Pokemon. Oh well.

Is it just me, or does it resemble a severed torso when sheathed? The purple arms, the sheaths making the chest, and the pair of eyes above the shoulders.

Such a shame that it gets compared to the likes of Dugtrio or Magneton. This one makes sense (its pre-evo already hints it), has a theme (coat of arms), and has a great motif (it carries over the pseudo face)... but sadly you have people who don't digest the design properly.
Magneton and Dugtrio do make sense.

Magnemite are all about magnetism, so for their evolution they stick together. Then they all meld together into a super Magnemite (Magnezone). Unfortunately, we've never seen what happens when three Magnezone combine...

Dugtrio is based on a Whack-a-Mole game, which have more moles pop up when the game gets harder; therefore, Dugtrio has more moles popping up because it's stronger.

Dual Swords > One-handed

Can't stand it like most new designs. Don't really understand the comparison to dugtrio and magneton both those designs make more sense to me (and are a far more simple and clean design which i like). More power to those that like them though, as long as i have access to all the previous gens to pick my favorites i don't really care if i don't like any new ones.

Yes, Pokemon is renown for its creative and complex thematic designs and storytelling.
Story? No.

Design however, especially since Gen 3? Yes.

Hell, just this...

With Altaria's Dragon/Flying typing, you'll unearth a lot of stuff.

Dugtrio yeah, I guess. But I still go against Magneton because magnets aren't stickers damnit!

Are you trying to say something? I'm not sure what you're getting at.

I'm saying it's ugly and dumb as hell lol.

And yet it's quite clever.

I'd love a pixel artist to demake all of these new or controversial pokemon into sprite form a la Gen 2

This guy would have looked amazing in Gen 2. Typing is great as well.

Three magnetic balls stuck together makes more sense than two swords stuck together?

You're not really presenting your case well.

What?! Honedge is Evolving?!
*play evolution music with short animation
Congratulation! Your Honedge just evolved to Sange&Yasha!

And guys, if people start bringing up the 151, ignore them or whatever, but just don't shitting on the Pokemon 'kay? I know the designs are not the creative one but it still hittin' the little guy inside of me.

but guys dont you get the deep thematic design

Yes, because clearly "magnets stick together like stickers!" and "whack-a-mole but close together!" makes more sense than an evolution based on the coat-of-arms and the process of a gear machine don't.

Old.

Hitotsuki and Monorpale. English names tend to be more farfetched but it's there.

But clearly they're not smart enough to create references to Peng and the blue bird of happiness, design a sword as a ghostly royal coat of arms, or to various youkai without being too obvious unlike, say, Exeggutor? Or are you trying to imply that their references and knowledge to their works are limited to names?

Lay off the haterade nobody cares if you think its dumb.

Dat typinggggggg.

Unfortunately its Typing got nerfed...Steel is no longer resistant to Dark and Ghost, so it has those as weaknesses since Ghost is weak to Dark and itself.

Yes that's what i said. What exactly are you attempting to achieve by sarcastically repeating it?

This name is upper tier, rest easily among Braviary and Volcarona. But Talonflame is just shit tier for a name. I demand the french name become english one too!

Doublade? Terrible name. I don't like it very much design wise either. Was hoping for the sword to change a bit more drastically.

Designs like this really don't cut it :-/
Heck, GF, let me take a stab at it, I bet I could do better.

Honestly, his name is my most hated aspect of Gen 6. Simply loath it.

Because of all the things you can say about doubledge's design, it makes more sense than those things , people actually dual wield swords, the concept of two swords together makes more sense than moles being stuck together for some inane reason . Like people are entitled to find designs like this boring, personally i'm not the biggest fan, but it seems like weird bias and handwaving when people are treating it like a decline in design philosophy and calling it a spiritual successor to that "ice cream pokemon" while conveniently sweeping magneton and dugtrio ,etc ,etc under the rug.

Love Honedge but this... I dunno. Slightly disappointed I guess. Are there any video trailers out there or do we just have pics for now?

I would love an awesome Magnezone-style stage 3 evo though!

Standard pokemon design, now with items instead of animals!

Why did they make more sense to you
