Pokken Tournament: Combo Video

I want to buy this game, but prefer to buy on the eshop.

I see that the retail version comes with a Mewtwo card that unlocks the character. What happens if I buy digital? Can I unlock the character somehow? Is it included?

The character is unlockable through normal gameplay, the card just accelerates that.

Man this game is ugly. Nintendo really has no idea how to take advantage of next gen shader tech. The pokemon all look like they're made of the same material and all feel really desaturated. They should really be going for a similar shader look to Dota2 or TF2 since the characters are so stylized, but instead they're using these really plasticy looking stuff. On top of that, the animations for a japanese company are really stiff and lifeless. They look like a bunch of mocap animations and don't have any of that expressive timing that is so inherent to great looking japanese fighting games.

Actually, you should blame Namco for that. They're the ones who're developing the game.

What do you think of Tekken's animations?

I am sure Harada said he does not like the idea of paid dlc. So I am sure if there is future additions they will be for free.

Tekken's animations are all right IMO as they fit better for human characters and they are a staple of the tekken series so people have gotten used to them. I think Street Fighter V has some really good animations, definitely a huuuge step up from Street Fighter 4. Bayonetta/viewtaful joe/dark stalkers/other old school capcom fighting games has some really great expressive animations that for some reason japanese companies have a hard time replicating in 3D.

I think the pokemon all look fine and the few people complaining are making a mountain out of a molehill
