Generally speaking it is. Compare the price of #FE for example, Yesasia's price is almost 10 dollars cheaper right now. Even without the slight sale it's on, Yesasia's price is still cheaper. It's just one example of many really. Playasia is also just a really scummy website.

All the Sakura VN games are banned though for example.

It's not outright banned. A friend told me that if you're streaming it just to goof off in the dressing room you put yourself at risk.

Thx but went ahead and ordered from PlayAsia because it's cheaper and also because the Asian multi language version isn't even available on Yesasia anyway. Thanks though as it looks like a good resource to have on hand for the future, appreciate your help.

No, but people seem to think so. I don't call the shots on who gets banned, but I have noticed a general lack of moderation when it comes to DOAX3 threads. I can't proclaim why that is, so I just drop it and move on. It should be common knowledge to know the difference between someone who is legitimately criticizing and someone who is drive-by posting. Simply look in this very thread to witness it. Read the quote below for more on why things seem odd.

I'll assume you've played none of the DOAX games. Some of them are, some of them aren't. Some of them are costumes from the fighting games, some are better swimsuits, some are just simply cool looking items that serve no purpose other than to look at. For example the older games had an Xbox console you could receive as a gift. Think of it as purples or greens in an RPG, except they are not meant for stats but for showing off.
You are free to enjoy those games if you wish or the DOAX games. Just remember that these games come with DLC so its probably better to wait on a discounted version if you are interested. I've argued before in these threads and I'm pretty much done doing the back and forth. I'm coming in this thread to inform those that don't know about the games, possibly such as yourself. I'm not going to be the one defending them. Someone else will fight that fight with you.

I don't think that DOAX3 should be a hill that anyone tries to die on (on either side). It's just some low level smut that's extremely tame compared to real smut like my mother's very graphic trashy romance novel audiobooks that she openly listens to on her ipad or my girlfriend's Attack on Titan doujinshi erotica. It's like a barely PG-13 doujinshi at best/worst.
Mostly true. Doesn't mean critique of the game's relationship system can't be made though.

I have seen people talking about setting up a Japanese PSN account but doing things like this worries me in-case anything goes wrong

No. You'll almost certainly need to buy DLC from the same store as the game is from. But that shouldn't be an issue - I've had both Japanese and HK PSN accounts for years (for demos mostly). Just skip the credit card bollocks by buying PSN cards from playasia etc

The game knows what it is, and so do we. We're not making it out to be a well written, ground breaking game with deep meaningful relationship systems.
However it has it's merits beyond just "tame smut". Does every game have to have a deeply woven narrative? Does every game need to be a grizzled third person shooter, or open world action game with RPG elements?
Sometimes I just want to play a game with attractive women playing volleyball and relaxing on an island.
Not sure why others take such offense to the game. If you don't like it, like anything in this world: just ignore it. It's not offending or hurting anyone.

Why did I wait to pre-order? I wanted to wait and see if English was confirmed for the Japanese version too (just so I could import it through AmiAmi in one of my combined orders) and now VGP is sold out of the PS4 version. I'm sure they'll get more in, but still. :/

It does have merits beyond that and I know I will most likely enjoy the collecting aspect, but let's be real. It's smut. And that's great, because that's exactly why I'll buy it. Also volleyball or something.
I just think seriously "criticising" this game that doesn't AT ALL pretend to be something more, is akin to going on Youporn and posting comments under videos of someone doing a striptease telling everyone how wrong it is. It's just so weird that this is the game you'd pick to make your point.
Yeah don't worry, that happens often with VGP. Try hitting them up on twitter if it stays out of stock for much longer. Also VGP doesn't charge your CC until it ships, so you can just make a pre-order and cancel it if you see a better option later.
