Is it me or is David Gregory gone fullblown in the fact that Race for the White House basically operates as a show that is trying to boost GOP spirits and trying to give pointers to the McCain campaign?

Just curious.

Dude, Gregory was one of the originators of the "Good news for John McCain" memes!:P

I personally don't like anything on MSNBC except the big 3 shows. The GOP talks about how it's such a hostile network, but it seems like with the exception of the big 3, it leans right-of-center with everything else.

When it comes down to it, I've always felt Obama actually wants to be President because he actually has passion to lead and enact positive changes for the country. It something he believes in, and it cant be faked. I just never really understood WHY McCain wants the position, and nothing in his campaign has made that any clearer to me. I agree it's pretty much about the seat. I don't really see him working long hours, sacrificing, and compromising to to enact anything he's really passionate about.

A little. Its hard to be down the middle when you are between hardball, Racheal, and Keith.

I actually wish Dan Abrams was hosting. He was always fair to both sides.

How did you vote on amendments?

"No" on the Florida Marriage Protection Act. "Yes" on the rest. To be honest I used a little pamphlet from the Hillsborough Democratic Black Caucus to vote on the rest except the Protection Act Amendment which I already knew how I was going to vote on.

Very nice.

I always wonder if there's a roundup of this week's best political cartoons out there somewhere or something similar.

Heh, there was a portion of the huge NYT Mag article where a McCain adviser is quoted as saying just that. They couldn't come up with a case for why McCain should be elected that resonated with anyone.

A lot of the media did it. This morning, NPR almost had me convinced Virginia was a GOP state this cycle, with a slim chance it could tip Obama's way this year, rather than the 10-point lead most polls show right now.

CBS POLL - http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/10/23/opinion/polls/main4541781.shtml

Obama now leads McCain 52 percent to 39 percent among likely voters nationwide, roughly the same lead he held last week. Just five percent are undecided, and more than 9 in 10 of each candidate’s supporters say their mind is made up.

BOOM

Summation: (last poll)
Obama - 52 (53)
McCain - 39 (39)

Palin favs/unfavs - 31/40 (a -9 fav, man that sucks)

Obama leads among men (50 percent to 41 percent), women (55 percent to 37 percent), moderates (56 percent to 34 percent) and voters who supported Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries (78 percent to 16 percent). He also leads 52 percent to 42 percent among a group he had difficulty with during the primaries -- white working class voters.

+9 in men!! +18 for women!! +10 for working class whites? wow

Okay I gotta admit, McCain's brother prankcalling 9-11 to complain about traffic, is probably one of most hilarious stories I've read this election.

I was just about to post that too.:lol :lol

Operator: 911 state your emergency

Caller: It's not an emergency but do you know why on one side at the damn drawbridge of 95traffic is stopped for 15 minutes and yet traffic's coming the other way?

Operator: Sir, are you calling 911 to complain about traffic? (pause)

Caller: "(Expletive) you." (caller hangs up)

I do think this is a fundamental difference between the two parties. I never hear Republicans talk about the need to get out the vote, let alone the early vote.

Democrats try to get people to vote early.
Republicans try to keep Democrats from voting at all.

There aren't state-specific fliers?

But, really, who is this easily persuaded?
There probably are, this was probably tageted at certain battleground states, since you got it in NC, and I got mine in OH. Did you get any of the others that I mentioned?

^5 for voting No on 2.

I'm glad the Supreme Court knocked off a few. As bad as 2 is, 7 was almost worse: It basically dismantled the Florida Constitution's long-standing (since 1885!) ban on siphoning public funds into religious institutions. And 5 would have undermined the primary funding source for all Florida public schools (decreasing the minimum property tax ear-marked for public education... in a state with no income tax). The Amendment would have actually inserted trickle-down economic madness into the Constitution:
The legislature shall replace the revenue impact of the elimination of the required local effort as provided in subsection (a) through one or more of the following options: ... spending reductions for other components of the state budget and revenue increases resulting from economic growth attributable to lower property taxes,
Insanity! And they're playing these games with schools!

Palin on NBC News right now is incapable of even vaguely defining 'terrorism.' Brian Williams asking her what other domestic criminals are terrorists. This interview is as weird today as it was yesterday. :lol

To be honest I don't know why she is allowed to do interviews. When your running mate babysits you when you talk things can't be good.

Did McCain tell you this?

I wouldn't be surprised if Osama has been dead for years. I'm no conspiracy nut but his health situation has been rather poor for some time, if he's still alive

AFAIK, he still releases audio and video tapes, in which he talks about recent events.

Scott McClellen endorses Obama? What's this guy's angle?

I mean, even if he's supporting the guy I support too, he just seems so weasily...

Dude, it's Scott, of course he would. He's been making the liberal show circuit for months about how awful Bush is!

Nope, we would have heard about it. Last time we heard from him he released a video in which his hair and beard had been dyed for some mysterious reason.

Yeah, I know, but it's fun piling on the names. :D

Obama should come out with a commercial or speech bit talking about him being supported by an Eisenhower, a Reagan and a Goldwater. The more beloved of the old-school Republicans.

WTF is this?

So let me get this straight, she was knifed on the face less than 24 hours ago, the attacker managed to carve a perfect 'B' into her face, for which she refused medical attention, and which has miraculously healed in less than 24 hours?

BULLSHIT!!

You can almost see the glee in the eyes of all the Republicans who have endorsed Obama as they get in that shiv on Bush.

I still don't get why it's a 'B' instead of an 'O'?? If I carve a 'C' in her does that mean McCain?

I may be delusional here but every time McCain and Palin are talking together, when ever Palin is talking, McCain gets this really weird face on him and tends to look down on the floor as if he is hoping she doesn't fuck up. Just based on his facial expressions and body language I don't think he has full confidence in her.

His first name starts with a "B."

Chuck Todd brought this up yesterday. He's definitely at unease when she talks.

Well, doctor or the police could've told her to do the following to quickly reduce the swollen. :)

I still believe it's fake.
