Haha, Tom Delay. "Obama is a radical. Obama is a marxist. Obama is a socialist. Bachmann is a genius and will get re-elected". (probably a rerun)
the woman who came on after was great. "Consider the source. Tom Delay is utterly corrupt, presided over corruption and resigned in disgrace. With all due respect."

224,457 voted in North Carolina today, a new daily high.

1,847,564 have voted so far, which is 52.8% of 2004's vote.

"Say hi to your mother for me."

:D :D :D

Clinton's speech was amazing.

I think it was ToxicAdam who said that Clinton is at his best when he's defending his own record or speaking about his own accomplishments (if he didn't say that, I'm attributing it to him), which I completely agree with. He managed to parlay some ego worship into a great endorsement for Obama tonight, and he packaged it in a great way.

Texas, not SD. He's from around Houston. He gerrymandered the hell out of the state when he was in the legislature here. He's not a very nice man.

He was the majority leader of the US Congress.

He wasn't in the Texas legislature when the gerrymandering happened. That was part of the outrage, he showed up from Washington with the map and the Texas republicans voted for it.

Maybe I'm just a political novice, here, but I really see attacks like these as completely ineffectual. Let's assume that McCain had more of a chance than he does (or at least appears to based on any reliable poll). Don't attacks like these work better when they're more subtle and hinted at? Usually, it's better to just say something like "Now, I'm not saying that Obama is a socialist, but you have to admit that this does vaguely resemble what Russia was doing back in the day." There, you have more plausible deniability, and you're giving the viewers more of an opportunity to connect the dots and perhaps come to their own nagging suspicions that the observation may not be entirely unfair.

Simply saying that he's a radical socialist just seems entirely desperate, though.

Yeah, sorry. Misstated that.

They are adding polling stations constantly, so it keeps going up.

I missed a few days grabbing NC, so I don't have the steady day by day. But this is the daily vote trend in Georgia:

The more polling stations they add, the more demand there is for them. In Georgia, over 42% of 2004's vote is already in.

Just gotta say....very fucking impressive to have 35,000 people at a midnight rally in Florida on a Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

in watching some of the news I find it interesting how republicans correspondents' tone is essentially that Obama's gonna be president and we hate him.

Of course except for Faux news which is saying "obama would be terrrist in chief!"

How long is SD banned for? I can't shoulder the load of all the Anti-Obama threads that will need to be made in the next few years.

Hmm, is the fact that only you and a few are volunteering to do that an admission that Obama's going to kick ass?

Just found out that Obama is going to be in my town (Columbia, MO) tomorrow and I don't think I'll be able to go. Fuck.
Hope you can! My family and I just moved to Columbia about a month ago, and we're going to attempt to get in. It's going to be packed with college students, no doubt.

Would've posted earlier, but I was carving a pumpkin. :)

Regarding the infomercial, I thought it was really well done. My wife put it best... when it was over, she said, "Wow, he's *got it*," referring to his ability to convey emotion and connect. I thought it was commendable that he didn't stoop to the level of mudslinging, and his only reference to McCain was really just showing him briefly a couple times from the debates. I found myself actually getting pretty emotional watching it, which was surprising, since I went in with my doubts. I thought it might be overkill at this point, but he brought up points that I hadn't thought about, and there was definitely a more human element at play here.

After watching it, it seems unfathomable to me how conservatives continue to paint him as the destroyer of the country, a leftist who represents everything bad and who is unconstitutional, and a much worse choice than the McCain-Palin ticket. What he represents is a very tangible beacon of hope and new direction. Sounds cheesy, but based on how I reacted to this, I've never believed it more than I do now.

Oh, and Joe the Plumber? Enjoy your 14:59, you sell out.

Sadly I think it was perma-ban. I still talk to him via Xbox Live. You can imagine his general state of mind at the moment. ;)

I'll help you out man. I mean I voted for Obamarama already but back in school when we played football there were times when I'd be all-time QB, so I can easily play for the other side. Plus, I'm already a liberal so being traitorous isn't anything really new to me.

I mean, look at my avatar. Who else would you rather have as your merc?

A coworker and I will be canvassing to GOTV in Reading, PA on election day. I think a good deal of us will be out of the office to volunteer that day. I'll spread a false rumor that we're all interviewing and freak out the less politically aware.

HOW CAN HE GO BACK TO PLUMBING AFTER THIS?!??!
LOL... seriously. Didn't he already say that he plans to quit the plumbing business to try out the whole entertainment/music/celeb angle? He himself has basically taken all the air out of this point that they have been harping on for like two weeks now. If they keep on this, they're going to look like even bigger idiots.

haha... At least he has his love of Matt Ryan to soothe his soul.

Cool.

What do you think about Kwame only having to do 120 days? Did you hear his speech before he went into jail? Didn't sound too repentant.
