This is one of the reasons why I'm going with Sony. The vast majority of Xbox exclusives aren't truly exclusives, they are merely console exclusives. Sony games typically never appear on PC.

It's more likely that Microsoft secured publishing rights for Titanfall 2 and beyond. Similar to the Gears deal.

Didn't stop EA from signing an exclusive deal with MS for TF1. I really do have to wonder what the hell Zampalla was thinking when signing a contract with EA that gave them this much control over their IP...

It's possible that MS bought the franchise outright, and if true is a huge pickup for MS. I just very much doubt it and think he was confused with the news that Titanfall 1 is exclusive to MS.
That's not at all what happened with Gears. Gears PC was a port that released after the 360 version. Titanfall is day and date Xbox / PC. The only reason they didn't make more Gears on PC is that they sold like crap compared to the console versions, even though it had more content than the 360. They were also working on a Mac version which ended up getting cancelled because the PC version didn't sell well.
I think Titanfall will sell quite well on XBO and PC, and all future versions will be on PC as well as consoles. I don't see them dropping support for a platform that will surely get them a lot of money.
However, Vince / Respawn owns the IP. Microsoft would have to secure a deal with them, not EA.

This is kind of what they did with the Xbox way back in the early 2000's. That system ended up with a nice helping of core games.
Microsoft partnership w/ Epic Games and Bungie Studios created two hallmark titles on consoles. No doubt this partnership will provide another blockbuster title.
Respawn knows multiplayer and Microsoft can recognize quality titles when they want to. Should be lucrative for both parties.

EA is insane. This upfront early money must sure be worth sacrificing a chance at their own long running multi-plat COD beater. Especially with Acti no doubt going to blitz Destiny into the stratosphere by comparison.

This is what MS has always done. Original Xbox was brute force. Windows 95 was a brute force attempt to get everyone to switch to 32-bit. The Zune was brute force. Surface is brute force.
MS brute forces their way into the market and then iterates until they are successful. No one can dispute the 360 was more successful than the original Xbox.
