Polygon's marathon Xbox One live stream

GAF loves making fun of Polygon, but I think they actually have some talented people on staff.

Chris Grant, Russ Frushtick, Chris Plante, Russ Pitts, Matt Leone, and the McElroy brothers are generally all knowledgeable and fair when it comes to game coverage.

I think the site's reputation really suffers, perhaps fairly, because of Arthur Gies.

I agree on everyone apart from McElroy, he just bugs me.

They are talking about TV overlay, some good points but no mention if the limitations on surround sound and image quality. You know Nilay Patel is jumping on during the Verge hour and ripping this to shreds.

Just now PS4 controller > XBOX controller

Streaming video is obviously a vital part of the next gen console experience, as evidenced by people's willingness watching a multi-hour stream of people they actively dislike.

I am really enjoying seeing all your posts about "lol Polygon MS shills" while listening to the Polygon guys talk about how much better they like the DualShock 4 than the Xbox One controller.

Their points so far are only reinforcing the impression I have of the Xbox One; it's primarily a media convergence play and it happens to have some good video games. (They're nonplussed by the Xbox One controller compared to the DualShock 4.)

The dude in the tie...his voice is annoying, it sounds like he's asking a question when making a statement. I can't stand people who talk like that.

Just let me know if Chris Grant (I think thats his name) gets super bitchy again, like the second there is a menu in Forza, he starts screaming about "why aren't we racing!", like he was doing with Killzone last week any time there wasn't an enemy to shoot on screen

That's Plante. ( shit, why am I awake )

They were just bigging up the PS4 controller and saying how well Sony did with it, of course people won't post about that on here.

i will use the ps4 for netflix because i don't have to pay a subscription fee to access it

but games jounalists get xbl for free sooo

Hahahaha, bald guy prefers AA batteries.

"You can just swap them out, it's more sustainable like that"

I won't lie, I like AA batteries better too. I have two charging stations (for batteries) already for the 4x Wii controllers I own, and always have charged batteries ready to go. It's nice to not have to worry about a long cable when I forgot to charge my controller. Not to mention being able to just buy new batteries once they start degrading and not holding as much charge (anyone with a launch or 2nd revision PS3 controller, or an orignal 360 play-n-charge kit can probably appreciate that).

Says if you want to watch Netflix the Xbone is better than PS4 because it has a remote.
Doesn't mention that Netflix is gated behind XBLive.

Who's the dude that called AA batteries in a controller a "more sustainable" way of doing things? Umm what?

If you use rechargables plus the pad isn't totally unusable once the internal Li Ion battery inevitably dies. IFixit is big on this, it is kind of like what is better paper or plastic bags, there are a lot of nuances.

Switched off after the remote control talk

wtf

AA > inbuilt rechargable. Aside from the fact that Eneloops are better than any similarly sized battery I've ever used, I can have a set fully charged and waiting to switch in when the two in the controller die. So not only does my controller last longer, but I NEVER have to plug a wire into it.

Baha, Chris just shout out GAF.

Zombies!

I like Crecente. Alexa and Samit are totally awesome in my book. And Chris Grant had a really fair opening segment.

Those Human Angle features are always fantastic!
