Possible First Look at MCU Spider-Man Costume

I'm not buying it. Looks like the normal 616 suit.
This the normal 616 suit.

I thought MCU Spiderman was going to have a "prototype" costume for his cameo and then for his full movie would have his full blown suit? Or was that just a rumor?

EVERYTHING is a rumor.

And the image in the OP has nothing to do with the MCU =P

I'm guessing it's just generic spider-man art and not necesarily his movie costume, based on how completely typical it looks and the fact that he looks buff.

Then again, reverse image search on that specific part of the picture yields no existing results. So who knows.

Yeah, they just seem to be movie-esque designs for merchandise/toys. That Widow costume has shown up as one of those crappy Titan Hero figures.

I've seen those in stores before and they always surprise me with how awful they look. Who do they make those toys for? The fucking knockoff toys look nicer than and they are way cheaper and they usually come with other superheroes.

On one hand, it seems kind of strange that after all this time Marvel Studios has treated Spider-Man's Civil War costume like it was a national security secret, the Editor in Chief of Marvel Comics himself would leak it by going "hey check out my new business card".

On the other hand, while these illustrations aren't exactly the Avengers' MCU designs, a few of them are certainly very similar, so it wouldn't be much of a stretch to assume that Spidey's costume will pretty much look like that anyway.

On the other, other hand, it's so boring that I still hope it isn't his Civil War costume.

And even if he didn't say it was an MCU-themed doesn't mean it isn't in some way. Captain America is blatantly his Age of Ultron design, and Iron Man clearly looks more like his move counterpart than his current comic appearance.

But that could just be Marvel using the most recognizable designs. I'm starting to think this is basically "generic Marvel art" like the kind you'd see on non-specific merch, kind of like how this Spider-Man:

was used on merchandise for years even though Spider-Man didn't exactly look like that in the comics. But I guess we'll have to wait and see if that's the case or not.

No red on his backpack thing and the red next to the star is diagonaly and not with the star point in it's center.
No red on the sleeve and the torax red does not continue on the stripped part of his belly
Also no white winds on the helmet and the A is slightly smaller on the helmet

The three spider legs on the back of this suit bug me so goddamn much. The idea is fine, but why three? Four would look so much more natural.

3 points will create a stable plane regardless of angle. 4 points will not.

I'm hoping it's just the kid in blue jeans with a red shirt and ski mask over his face, or a paper sack with eyeholes in lieu of ski mask.

It might not be 100% the same but it's definitely 90%. At first glance it looks identical and only after looking for differences could you find slight color and size variations.

Blah, I noticed those discrepancies earlier and totally forgot about them. You're absolutely right, though. I still think it's pretty clear it was inspired by the Ultron design, but it's definitely something different. I think you kind of confirmed my (and I think earlier poster's) thoughts on this kind of just being generic Marvel art, and Cap and Iron Man probably look more their MCU counterparts because of how popular they are (and how unknown ANAD Cap and Iron Man are)

On a somewhat unrelated note, I find it interesting that they added Black Panther to the roster. I can only hope that means they have good expectations for the movie and the character going forward.

He didn't say anything about it and that's why I said that it could possibly be the MCU Spider-Man costume.

But your post stated that it is a MCU-themed name card as if it is a fact, when he didn't say so.

Also there isn't a SINGLE FUCKING ARMOR in the entire MCU that has anything CLOSE to the ( ) shaped Arc Reactor

Mosts are circles, the Avengers/Iron Man 3 is a triangle and Civil war is a circle inside a trapeze

It doesn't really match any comic armor either, not even Extremis. I'd say it's closer to his MCU armor than his comic armor, specific arc reactor details be damned. And it (theoretically) being inspired by the MCU doesn't mean it has to incorporate details from the film armors exactly.

Doesn't really matter much, anyway. I abandoned my already weak thoughts about it being MCU connected. Whether or not it took it took inspiration from some MCU designs is irrelevant.

Yeah just the last nail in the "generic art nothing to do with civil war" coffin with what we can safely compare because there are still people believing this is CW spidey =P

I am betting Star Lord don't have those arm armors on GotG2 xD

how would a teen in a low income household even be able to make that costume?

Nobody's gonna care.

He's just gonna show up as Spider-Man already. There's zero need to have Tony (or anyone) bestow upon him his 'real' costume, thus legitimizing him as a 'real' hero.

He's already Spidey. He's already got a costume. He's doing his own thing. Anything that detracts from that is simply a means to somehow add a small element of Spidey origin to a movie that doesn't need it.
